Prologue

There are good, bad, and weird guys in the world, but to me, this guy looks like a crazy guy.

Grand Duke of Epher Zen Elysia. He was a very typical day-nighter. (t/n: 낮져밤 means something like It refers to someone really sweet and cute in the daytime but at night, they are super freaky. Or someone who is passive during the day but dominates in bed) 

On a warm sunny afternoon, he always comes to me after lunch. 

“Are you going to look at me so beautifully?”

Looking at me attractively, he gathers all the compliments that can be given in the world and express them.

“How can you be so cute?” 

Unable to hold back his affection for me, I squeezed the lemon I was holding with one hand. 

“Can you give me a kiss?”

To say something that might be embarrassing without hesitation. 

“I love you.”

The sweet words were scabbed in my ears.

Looking at Epher’s bright blonde hair and clear, bluish eyes like the sunlight pouring down under a beautiful tree, it felt like a hot honeymoon in a resort in the South Pacific.

Even if I behave rudely and he already knows it by heart.

“If you like me, I like you too.”

Far from getting angry, he always smiles as if an angel has descended.

The sea of love for me has no depth and comes over me like a wave on the beach, swallowing me up.

“I’m going to go now. Don’t be lonely without me. See you later?”

Like a wave leaving behind white sand grains, he slowly turned around as if he regretted it. 

But when the sun goes down and the night is filled with only the sound of owls.

“Wife.” 

Epher’s voice, which was gentle and kind, contained the air of the night. 

“What are you doing here at this hour?”

“I’m just going for a walk.” 

“…A walk?” 

Looking at his cold, hard face, I feel lost, like I’m on the night sea without a lighthouse or on a forest road without a whistle.

“…The moon is round and bright.”

Unlike the daytime, which is filled with affectionate words, only silence fills our nights.

“Wife.” 

If I look at his cool eyes, which are stained black against the bright moonlight.

“I don’t want to doubt it, but you’d better not do anything stupid.”

It seemed like a cruel enemy commander was laughing at me as I stood my ground and tried to save my life in the middle of a war.

“Please go in.”

I muttered quietly as I looked at the familiar back, who turned around without hesitation, not wanting to look at me for another few seconds.

“…Isn’t he really crazy?”
