“All right, that’s everything.”
I stretch after transmuting all the kagero fruits into magic crystals.
The pile of magic crystals is as big as a small child. It took me an hour to transmute them all.
At a certain point I told the people around me that it was just going to be more of the same, but many still stayed and watched.
“I’m done chief, you can take them. All of them are full of magic elements, and should last twice as long as the ones that were on the market.”
I say to the village chief, who is among the crowd of people.
“T-twice!? And this many? I don’t even think we will be able to use them all… We will have to speak with the feudal lord…”
Mumbles the village chief with a vacant expression.
“Chief? Chief?”
I call out to him again.
“Eh, ah, I’m sorry.”
He says while shaking his head.
“I have been alive for many years, but I have never been this surprised. Yes, we will take them to the village. Zahle, please see to it!”
The village chief snaps out of his daze and gives instructions.
Zahle brought something that resembles a wheelbarrow from the village, and the villagers load the magic crystals onto it. Apparently he brought it while I was working.
Yes, it’s wonderful how everything went so smoothly. I think can talk about what to do next too.
“Well then, I will be taking the rest of the kagero materials.”
“Ah, Master Rust, how about we take them to the village together?”
The chief says while pointing to a second wheelbarrow.
It’s nice that they prepared that for me, and I feel bad for letting that kindness go to waste, but…
“Ah, thank you, but I don’t need it.”
I activate two scrolls that are still set up, 《Polish》 and 《Release》.
I use Polish to make the value of density of the diamond dust zero, and lift the pile of kagero materials with the tornado. I take off my backpack, open the compartment I use for materials, and point it towards the spinning kagero materials.
The materials are sucked into the backpack while I do minute adjustments to the 《Release》 scroll.
“W-wow! How much did he put in there?”
“And he put it all away in a second. Did you see that?”
“I did. Weird…”
The villagers stop picking up the magic crystals and stare at me instead.
“Hey! You all stopped working!”
Yells Zahle.
“Chief, there is something I want to talk to you about.”
I say to the village chief.
“…! Understood. Follow me to my home. Take care of the rest, Zahle.”
The village chief notices right away that I want to go somewhere else. I follow him into his house, while feeling relieved that he is so perceptive, and someone I feel I can speak to about what I have in mind.
