I quickly start preparing what I need to treat Taula in the space created by Hipopo’s charge. She seems very weak, but I don’t see any large wounds. Was she like this before the fight even started?

“Rust…”

Taula tries to say something.

“Let me treat you first. Don’t talk.”

Taula nods and falls to her knees. I jump forward to catch her, and lay her down carefully. It looks like she fainted.

Hipopo and the others are rampaging around us. Hipopo in particular is running all over the place, making sure none of the mermen get near us. Roa is still on Hipopo’s back, swinging her spear around and stabbing mermen with precision in their vital areas.

Seilook is flying around in low altitude, ripping apart the necks of the mermen Hipopo and Roa miss.

Roa suddenly looks towards the water, and stares at it.

“Master Rust, reinforcements are coming!”

She says while jumping down and moving between us and the water to protect us.

“All right, I’ll hurry up!”

I check Taula’s condition with the 【Transcribe】 scroll, and pick a few potions from the ones I prepared before. I then pour them into a glass container and mix them.

Try not to create factors that inhibit the replacement of magic elements… Add this to make up for the drop in her level of consciousness… And done!

I put my hand behind her neck, and slowly feed her the potion I just mixed. I have to angle her neck just right to make sure none of it enters her respiratory tract.

The potion doesn’t actually have to reach her stomach, it’s absorbed by her body. Just splashing it on her face would have some effect, but it’s more effective if it’s absorbed by the blood vessels in her oral cavity.

As Taula’s body absorbs the specially made potion, it becomes enveloped in a golden glow.

After the warm light fades, Taula’s breathing stabilizes, and her pulse becomes stronger. Her complexion quickly becomes better, and her consciousness returns.

I let out a sigh of relief, but only for a brief moment.

Mermen keep appearing from the sea one after the other. Some are riding octopus monsters, and some are considerably larger.

I’ve heard people talk about it, but the sea really is full of monsters. And apparently they’re under the control of something very troublesome.

“Roa, retreat for now! Jump on top of Hipopo when I give the signal! Seilook, retreat!”

“Understood!”

“Kyu!”

“Hipopo!”

I call Hipopo while taking out a special magic item from my backpack and throwing it.

“Bumoh!”

Hipopo runs towards me.

Taula is still feeling hazy, so I grab her and put her on top of Hipopo. We then turn around and run to go get Roa.

The magic item I threw lands right in the middle of the monsters coming from the sea.

“Close your eyes!”

I scream, and almost at the same time, light bursts out of the magic item as it hits the ground, followed by a raging storm of magic elements.

It’s not powerful enough to kill, but it’s a nice disturbance. It’s most effective at times like these.

These mermen are used to living underwater, and have probably never seen a light like this. This combined with the storm that followed is enough to throw them into chaos.

“Roa, grab my arm!”

I snatch Roa, who was holding the line by herself, and we leave this place behind.
