The enemy soldiers engage the incoming Potion Rabbits, but thanks to the disorder in their ranks caused by their hurry, their attacks are too scattered.
The shots fired from the magic guns can hardly be called concentrated volleys either. The Potion Rabbits evade most shots with skillful lateral dodging.
Still, some Potion Rabbits are hit by magic bullets, and when their cores are hit, they burst and revert to simple potions.
Still, most make it to the enemy lines and jump on them.
The Potion Rabbits revert back to potions and melt the mushrooms controlling the enemy soldiers.
As the potions heal them, the enemy soldiers begin to writhe on the ground. By the time they stop moving, there are black puddles everywhere with the remains of the black mushrooms.
The momentum of the Potion Rabbits jumping out of the barrel is not stopping.
Next, are the riders. Potion Rabbits are perfect for them.
As the bull-type beasts charge, the Potion Rabbits burst and splash on the riders.
Many riders look like they’re in pain and simply fall. I have to send additional Potion Rabbits to heal the wounds they’re suffering from the falls.
I peek towards the barrel occasionally while I observe the battlefield. Once it’s empty, I move on to the next one.
Once the mushrooms in the riders are all melted, the remaining Potion Rabbits and the freshly made ones head towards the last group of enemies.
They unsheathe their swords and get ready to fight.
Potion Rabbits keep getting slashed by the enemy soldiers, and their swords sparkle with the shine of magic elements.
It looks like this is the main force of the enemy.
The Potion Rabbits are being cut down almost at the same rate that they’re being created.
“Master Rust, are we being pushed back?”
Ahri says, sounding a little worried.
“Hm… Maybe. But it’s fine, I have another.”
I take out another magic stone.
“Another one!? Y-you really came prepared.”
Now Ahri sounds surprised, but Kalin and Harold just sort of look at her with lukewarm expressions.
“That’s just Rust.”
“Yes, you should expect this much.”
Say my two friends with self-satisfied expressions.
Rather than responding to them, I signal to Shellrule.
She then brings me another barrel with Koto.
“Thank you.”
I toss the other magic stone inside, and Potion Rabbits start jumping out of the second barrel.
Even the main enemy force should be splashed if the Potion Rabbits double all of a sudden.
Potion starts splashing around, and black puddles begin to dot the ground, as most enemy soldiers fall.
In the meantime, one soldier slowly walks towards us with a sword in each hand.
Her whole body is covered with the shine of magic elements, and it kind of looks like she’s singing something.
Potion Rabbits begin to swarm her. The ones jumping out of both barrels now focus solely on her.
“Lily! You’re alive!
Yells Harold, sounding happy.
“Hou… I see.”
And Kalin sounds impressed.
Something starts to well up with this Lily in the center, and the Potion Rabbits swarming her suddenly burst.
Apparently she did it with her twin swords. It all happened so fast, I couldn’t see anything.
Then I see her arm become blurred for just a second, and the Potion Rabbits closing in on her splash all over the place.
“She’s strong… She’s even better than Taula if we’re just talking about her skill with the sword.”
Says Kalin.
“Yes, we can’t let it go on like this.”
I answer while trying to think of something.
“Kalin, Rust, can you leave this to me? Lily is my subordinate, and I want to save her myself if I can.”
Says Harold with a serious look on his face. Kalin and I look at each other and nod.
“All right. Potion Rabbits, hold!”
The Potion Rabbits stay in place, waiting for further instructions.
Harold, take this.”
I push a few small potions into Harold’s chest.
“I’ll jump in if things get too dangerous.”
Says Kalin.
“Thank you. I owe you one.”
Says Harold quietly, before he turns around and walks towards Lily.
