Taula’s back suddenly appears between me and the ‘Third Seat of Immorality’.
Half of her body gets inside the rhizome, and I can see her stretching her arms and stabbing the ‘Third Seat of Immorality’ deeply on the inside.
Pale purifying light bursts from the wound created by the knife.
The light takes a form that looks to me like both lightning and vines. It looks like it’s flying out of the wound, but it then flies back and smacks into the rhizome.
Every time the light smacks into the ‘Third Seat of Immorality’, the impact creates sparks. It runs from the rhizome to the entire body of the ‘Third Seat of Immorality’.
It’s furious like lightning and writhes like vines.
And then, starting from the flower garden in the ceiling, the pale light runs through the roots of the ‘Third Seat of Immorality’.
The cave is being painted in that pale light.
The pale light starts burning away the ‘Third Seat of Immorality’, starting from its tips. The giant white flower above the rhizome burns faster than the rest.
A black mass falls from the flower and crashes to the ground.
“W-why!? I’m sure my fragrance…”
All of its being is being burned by the purifying light, and the ‘Third Seat of Immorality’ yells at Taula like it can’t believe what’s happening.
That ugly face becomes inflamed, as it twists with both shock and pain.
On the other side there’s Taula, who says nothing and spits blood.
I don’t think she has any intention of responding. Rather than answer, she turns the knife, carving the wound even more.
As the wound gets bigger, more purifying light overflows.
A streak of light grazes Taula like a vine, and I see it snatching something.
Is that scripture from the goddess Araysla?
It’s a book small enough to fit in the palm of her hand, that Taula uses to perform her oracles. I’ve seen it before, but all I knew was that it wasn’t a magic item. Now I know it’s a charm. A medium to perform curses.
The purifying light holds the book it snatched high, and everyone present is surprised to see the light behaving this way.
Even Taula looks up with her eyes wide open.
The book of scripture is held high and starts flipping through the pages. The purifying light in the air starts to change, with the book in the center.
Vine shaped purifying light starts growing from the book, and spreads in a circle.
What’s drawn by the lightning and vines is a primordial magic circle. I’ve seen something like that before.
Is that a transportation magic circle? Why is that…
And then, a few things happen at once.
The purifying light burning the ‘Third Seat of Immorality’ completely burns the roots binding me, and I’m dropped to the ground.
The rhizome is completely burned too. A magic stone appears, starts levitating, and is drawn to the primordial magic circle.
The magic stone is taken by the book of scripture, and the next moment, there’s an intense flash of light.
And then, there’s silence.
Before I know it, all that is left is me, Taula’s sword, and a faint breathing sound that keeps repeating from that black mass.
