My outstretched right hand touches the shaman’s back.
Or at least I thought it would, but the shaman’s body becomes fuzzy like fog, and my hand goes through it.
And another thing that’s strange is that I don’t feel anything. It’s like I didn’t even touch him at all.
I pull my hand away.
In the meantime, Gahn’s cries of agony are still echoing throughout the room, and the black haze keeps pouring out. Gahn’s body is completely hidden by the haze at this point. All that’s left is the screams coming from behind it.
I look at my right hand, focus, and think.
The noise is becoming distant.
I guess this really is a world based on memories, and if that’s the case… I’m still not very confident that it will appear, but…
I keep focusing, and wish for something to appear.
“Here it is.”
I can feel it in my hand, Taula’s sword.
And it’s not cursed either, it’s exactly how it was before.
I try to remember, and hold the sword near my hip, before stepping forward to gain momentum and stabbing the shaman in the heart.
Just like Taula did it. Again and again.
I lose count of how many times I’ve done it, and the shaman’s body turns to pieces, and disappears like it’s being sucked into my right hand.
“Ahh.”
I sigh unconsciously.
Before I know it, Gahn, Rihalzam, and everyone else is gone too.
“So memories really are the key.”
I whisper as I look around the empty room.
“So this world is made up of my memories, the shaman’s, and Actor Reese’s?”
I let out a bit of curse from my right hand, now that the power of curses is back, and check to see if nothing feels wrong.
“If that’s the case, I think I know how to look for where Actor Reese is trapped in this world.”
I whisper, and test my hypothesis right away.
