“Roa, how is the burden on your eye? Do you feel any discomfort?”
“No problem.”
I ask Roa how she’s feeling while checking her condition with a 《Transcribe》 scroll.
The magic elements my alchemist eyes see going around Roa also seem to be flowing smoothly. They’re not overstimulating her magic eye.
Roa has an eye patch shaped 《Seal》 scroll covering one eye, and she’s trying out a magic item I completed just the other day with her magic eye that has the long-distance sight power.
This new magic item is tube shaped, about the size of an arm, and has crystals harvested from a specific monster on both sides.
I had a harder time than usual gathering those crystals. I feel blood rushing to my face just thinking about it.
I shake my head a little, and focus on what I’m doing now.
We are currently in the dungeon where the ‘Third Seat of Immorality’ was. Where Taula was taken.
I set-up an altar right where I saw Taula for the last time, and place the scripture I got from Sister Reese there.
I wrap materials I got from the cat-fish’s tentacles around the altar, since it was a familiar of the shaman, to use them to connect paths of curses from the scripture.
Those materials from the tentacles were carefully processed, and a special cursed conducting wire was spun from their fibers.
Of course, in order to prevent the curses from this conducting wire from spreading, I coated it with a film that ends up being like a lower-grade version of my gloves.
I connect one side of this conducting wire to the scripture, and I hold the other.
When this path of curses connects, it’s going to resonate more than ever before, so I have Roa stand as far as possible from the altar for her safety.
And now, it’s finally time to connect with the magic item Roa is holding.
“Roa.”
“I’m ready any time. Connect it already.”
I already explained everything to her, so the impatient Roa presses me to move on.
I smile awkwardly in return, and check the safety mechanisms on the magic item one more time just to be safe. It’s set so the connection between the magic item and the conducting wire is burned if there’s an oversupply of curse power.
The bloody potion I’m using to convert curses and magic elements is all set too.
“All right, I’m connecting.”
“Yes.”
I carefully connect the conductive wire to the magic item.
It’s normal for nothing to happen at this stage, but I have to pay close attention. These aren’t magic elements I’m dealing with, these are mysterious curses.
A few seconds after connecting, I check and see there isn’t any flow of curses towards the magic item yet.
I check the 《Transcribe》 scrolls I have going around while I’m at it.
“Everything seems normal. Now I’m going to excite the curse power in the scripture.”
“Yes. My arm is getting tired.”
Roa sounds the same as ever.
I can’t figure out if she’s being considerate or just oblivious, but I thank her on the inside. I step away from her, and move towards the altar.
