“This is the room.”
There are several stone platforms for dead bodies in the burial chamber where Kahelone guided me.
I can feel strong magic elements filling the room. I’ve only ever seen this many magic elements floating around in the borderland.
Maybe that’s why there’s almost no rotten smell in the air.
“This is where dead bodies are kept until we can extract magic elements from them.”
She says while pointing to dead bodies on the platforms and doing a prayer gesture.
They are all neatly lined up, one in each platform, and covered in beautiful cloths.
I’m guessing the empty spots here and there are because different people have different amounts of magic elements inside them, and the bodies occupying those spots were moved somewhere else to have the magic elements inside them extracted.
“This is where Ghan and the other resurrected bodies were.”
Kahelone says while pointing to a spot where several bodies could have been.
“I see. Can I touch the platforms?”
“Yes, no problem.”
I walk between the platforms while being careful not to touch any bodies, until I reach the ones where the resurrected bodies were.
“Do you know where exactly Ghan’s body was?”
“Yes, this one.”
She takes out what looks like a register and tells me it’s one platform over to the right from where I am.
“So there are six empty platforms, with Ghan’s in the center?”
“Yes. But one was already empty.”
“I see. So five dead people walked away.”
“Exactly.”
I nod. Then I take the glove off my right hand, and slowly move it towards the platform where Ghan’s body was kept.
