My big sister Ahri looks really sad as she tells me she lost her future sight power, but I can tell she’s trying to act like everything is normal.
It’s always like this. She always does this because she doesn’t want to worry me.
All this time, I couldn’t do anything when my sister got like this. All this time all I did was worry about how she felt bad, and didn’t say anything about it.
But now it’s different.
I hold my sister tightly again, and turn my head to the side.
I’m asking for help. I’m turning my head to Master Rust, who always helps out at times like these.
I see the expression on his face. There was a smile on his face until a few moments ago, like he was watching something pleasant, but hearing what my sister said turned his expression serious.
I think he notices that I’m looking at him, and he lightly nods.
But that’s enough for me to feel a bit better. It’s a strange sense of peace that’s different from what I feel from my sister or Lady Kalin.
“Ahri, can you tell us what happened?”
“…Master Rust. We don’t have time now, do we?”
Answers my sister after thinking about Master Rust’s question for a moment.
I leave the warmth of her arms to get out of her way. My sister has a higher body temperature than me, so it feels all nice and warm when I hug her. I have to focus to pull myself away from that warmth.
I need to do what I have to do.
…My sister looks a little less sad now that Master Rust talked to her.
But I take my attention away from that, and hold the special spear that Master Rust made for me and watch over our surroundings.
Not that I’m not focusing my ears on them to hear their conversation.
“Kalin took the Hipopo brothers and headed for the castle. I’m sure she’ll manage.”
“Lady Kalin… I’m a little concerned.”
“Are you worried Kalin might destroy the castle too much?”
“Geez Master Rust… I will tell on you.”
“Don’t do that to me. She gets unreasonable when she’s in a bad mood.”
Then they start giggling.
I grip my spear tighter without thinking. The transmuted beast spear starts squirming like it’s telling me I’m hurting it, so I immediately stop and say I’m sorry.
“Let’s do a simple exchange of information. Tell me what happened all the way until you lost your future sight power.”
“All right, Master Rust. I will begin.”
She tells us what happened after she fell. Hearing about her wounds makes me think again about how painful it must’ve been, and I sneak a sigh of relief after hearing how one gulp of Master Rust’s potion healed her.
Then she talks about how her body felt strange, like her physical abilities were improved, and I’m confused about it too.
After that she encountered the giant pill bug, did what she saw herself doing with her future sight power, and crimson light appeared. Master Rust asks her to show it, and she does.
A warm light appears on the tip of her spear. From my point of view, it feels exactly like the warmth I feel from her.
I feel like admiring and praising this beautiful light, but Master Rust starts muttering something. I catch the words status window and Seilook’s name.
And finally, she starts telling us about how she came across a really creepy village girl here in the basement of the castle, and lost her future sight power not long before Master Rust and I arrived.
