We settle down in a hollow behind rocks and take a breather. It’s pretty warm compared to before, mostly because Seilook is shielding us from the wind.
But Ahri still looks cold. I use scrolls as always to make tea, and Ahri holds the cup with both hands and drinks it slowly.
Starting a fire would probably attract enemies…
It wouldn’t be much of a break if enemies came, so I give up on the bonfire idea. Then I give Seilook a high quality potion, since it flew us all the way here.
“Ahri, I have things to protect against the cold, so use them.”
I start rummaging through my backpack and showing Ahri what I take out.
“I don’t know about that. Wearing too much is going to restrict my movements…”
“Nevermind that, I know you’re cold.”
I wrap a scarf around my neck, and do the same to Ahri, almost forcibly.
“See, if we wrap it like this, it won’t get in the way.”
“It’s warm. Is this a magic item too?”
Ahri buries her face in the scarf all the way to her nose, takes a deep breath, and looks up at me with only her eyes uncovered.
“Yes, it generates a little heat. Everything here is made the same way.”
I say while grabbing leg and arm warmers and showing them to Ahri. This time she takes them.
But just as we’re putting on our equipment to protect against the cold, Seilook raises its neck and lets out a low groan.
It’s urging us to be cautious, and Ahri promptly reacts.
She grabs her spear, and gets on Seilook’s back.
“Master Rust, it’s coming. It’s a demon!”
Ahri points with her spear while looking up. I see the demon known as 『Weakest Third Seat』, and it’s bringing many underlings with it.
