After treating Taula, I breathe a sigh of relief as I close a 『Transcribe』 scroll.

She was in worse condition than I thought, but she seems fine now.

She didn’t just fracture her limbs, her fractured rib cage caused several internal injuries. It’s actually incredible that she was able to move that much. I need to thank Taula again for the wonderful job she did.

“I’m glad it went well. I feel like I made good on my vow to you, even if just a little.”

“Yes, but your sword…”

I try to talk about the sword that Taula just lost, but she shakes her head.

“I’m sure Lady Sela would be happy. All of it wasn’t for nothing.”

Taula says with a grave tone, and all I do is look at her until someone calls out my name.

“Rust!”

“…! Kalin? Thank goodness. I figured you’d be all right, but did you get hurt?”

“Not even a scratch. That wasn’t a big deal.”

She says, although her armor and even her big sword are pretty damaged. But it does look like Kalin herself isn’t hurt. Still, I activate the 『Transcribe』 scroll again and check just in case.

Kalin smiles awkwardly at this, but then she looks at Taula, and senses something is going on.

She raises one eyebrow and asks for an explanation.

And so, I tell her what happened after she flew away, while controlling the scroll.

“I see… Well done Taula. Even I admire your devotion.”

“Fufu, you flatter me too much, Kalin.”

As I see them talk like they reached some sort of understanding, I move over to check Seilook’s condition with the『Transcribe』 scroll.

Then I pet it, as it tells me through our bond that its feelings of wanting points are getting pretty severe.

“Well done to you too, Rust. Beating back Zwei alone is something that no one else could have done.”

Says Kalin while tapping my shoulder lightly and looking at me.

I stop checking Seilook to look at her too.

“And you managed to wound it pretty badly, and recover Taula’s divine protection, those points, and the king’s corpse. You should be proud.”

She says as she uses that same hand to smack me in the back.

As always, that’s kind of painful. Just painful enough for me to complain.

And so, I complain like I always do, and Kalin apologizes while laughing.

Kalin obviously can tell that I feel like my poor judgment made me miss the opportunity to finish it for good.

“Now comes the hard part, cleaning up. You’re going to help too, Rust.”

King Kalzart’s corpse is still here on the floor, and this town’s buildings are all at least half broken. Not to mention that we have to take care of the townspeople that took shelter away from here.

All I can do is look at Kalin with a dry smile, as she grins and points to all that.
