Chapter 35

A Guest?

Upon realizing this, Chloe immediately jumped down from the sofa, limping on her injured leg as she hopped to the door. Opening it, her eyes lit up:

"Katherine? Did you come to see me specially?"

Her expression and tone were exactly like a little rogue seeing a beauty.

Katherine maintained her usual cold demeanor, simply saying, "I heard you were injured, so I came to bring you medicine."

Chloe smiled: "Oh I really can't accept your going out of your way to deliver it."

Katherine paid no attention to her courtesy, only shoving the tube of greenish ointment into Chloe's palm: "This is the Elf Race's secret medicine, very effective, you can try it."

"Thank you." Chloe took it as if it were a treasure, also inviting, "Would you like to come in and sit for a while?"

It was in vampires' nature to love beauty, as well as beautiful people and things.

In the past when Chloe went to Xavier's study to read books, she would often see those words depicting the Elf Race's beauty, which Chloe at that time disdained, feeling that she was already uniquely beautiful in the world, with no one who could be more attractive than her.

Until that day she noticed the Elf Race's leader, Chloe's gaze uncontrollably kept glancing at Katherine.

Unfortunately Katherine didn't seem very happy to stay with Chloe, indifferently declining: "I still have training, so I won't stay long."

Chloe felt somewhat disappointed, but didn't forcibly keep her: "Alright then."

At The No. 1 Military Academy, strength was most important.

Chloe had confidence in her own abilities, so she wasn't anxious to train, but this batch of the Elf Race didn't seem to have formidable strength. Chloe couldn't force Katherine not to let her go train.

Otherwise it would seem Chloe had ulterior motives.

She clung to the doorframe watching Katherine walk away, reluctant to part.

Not until Anderson's voice sounded from behind: "When does the young miss plan to keep watching?"VIssiT n0(v)eL/b(i)(n).com for the best novel reading experience

Chloe licked her fangs without speaking, turning around to slam the door, once again hopping back to the sofa, changing the subject: "What's for dinner today?"

Then she looked at Anderson with innocent dark red eyes,

As if the one dragging an injured leg to open the door for someone wasn't her.

Anderson felt a headache coming on, simply not pursuing it further, answering: "Steak and pasta, want it?"

Chloe lazily nodded her head.

The entire training grounds were dead silent. The students at the side who had been silently observing Chloe one by one shifted their gazes away, concentrating on combat drills, only hoping to avoid disaster spreading to the innocent.

Chloe didn't think for even a second before immediately kneeling to the ground, indicating she deeply knew her own mistake.

Never having seen someone so spineless before, Ren Yunying resentfully pulled her up from the ground: "Your father would never randomly kneel down back in the day. What's...what's wrong with you?"

Chloe thought, scum dad is stupid. She was happy to accept punishment and not stupid, so she piteously said: "Instructor I was wrong."

"..." Ren Yunying pinched the space between her brows, "I'm really afraid of you."

Seeing Chloe was still fearful beyond compare, Ren Yunying had to tell her she wouldn't pursue it. Only then did Chloe joyously stand up from the ground.

Ren Yunying looked at her complicatedly: "Speak, why don't you like The No. 1 Military Academy's combat skills?"

Before she even finished speaking, Chloe's gaze wandered shiftily as she guiltily said: "Instructor, how could I not like The No. 1 Military Academy's combat skills? As a student of The No. 1 Military Academy, how could I possibly not like The No. 1 Military Academy's combat skills?"

Ren Yunying brought out her whip, expressionless: "Don't waste words."

Chloe faltered, only honestly confessing: "...Don't really like them."

The main thing was The No. 1 Military Academy's combat skills were truly too conservative. Chloe had the word "rebel" engraved into her bones. She liked catching the opponent unawares to gain victory in fights.

She enjoyed the excitement of the adrenaline surge.

After listening to Chloe's explanation, Ren Yunying didn't know what to say for a time. Finally asking:

"Then what were you thinking when kicking people in the crotch?"

Chloe: "..."

She righteously said: "Instructor, this is my personal conduct issue and has no relation to combat skills whatsoever."

Ren Yunying: "So you also know your own conduct is lacking."

Chloe couldn't help proudly whistling, Ren Yunying almost couldn't resist beating her.

It was hard to restrain herself.

If a student didn't like something, an instructor couldn't force her to learn it either.

Those previous threats were only because Ren Yunying was afraid the child would stray further down the wrong path, so she forcibly demanded she practice these combat skills, at least she couldn't let others laugh at her with one attack, saying she came from an unorthodox background.

Although Chloe herself didn't care, Ren Yunying couldn't help but think more for her.

Ren Yunying sighed, waving Chloe over:

"Come with me, I'll take you somewhere."
