Looking at the leafy greens in her bowl, Chloe wanted to ask Xavier, "Where on earth did you find these vegetables? How did you manage to bring them over right when I was about to eat instant noodles?"

Who could understand? She really didn't want to eat vegetables.

Xavier's expression remained neutral, completely disregarding Chloe's resistance, and simply said again, "For vitamin intake."

Chloe: "..."

She was truly annoyed.

But since the vegetables were already in her bowl, it seemed wrong not to eat them.

Not to mention, these were personally delivered by her dear daddy.

Fine, she'd force herself to eat a few bites.

Chloe picked up some vegetables and cautiously nibbled on a corner with her teeth, her face turning as green as the vegetables as she began to eat.

Halfway through, she sneaked a glance to the side, only to discover that Xavier was still standing next to her, watching her eat vegetables without blinking!

Chloe: "..."

This was entirely unnecessary. Was she, Chloe, that kind of person?

Well, actually, she was.

Realizing this, Chloe lowered her head sheepishly and continued to eat miserably.

How pitiful, even the instant noodles and the pork ribs in them didn't taste good anymore.

When Chloe finished eating all the vegetables, she carefully looked to the side, only to find that Xavier had left at some point.

It was ridiculous.

So he had come down just to watch her eat vegetables.

Chloe rolled her eyes in resentment and lowered her head to devour the small pork ribs in her bowl.

Because eating vegetables had made her unhappy and increased her appetite, Chloe even went so far as to beg Katherine to share some of her food.

Katherine, without hesitation, gave all the ribs and meat strips from her bowl to Chloe. Chloe was so happy that she started calling Katherine "darling baby."

Seeing this, Daniel's eyes turned red with jealousy, and he denounced their behavior as utterly disgusting.

Then he raised his bowl high and sincerely asked, "I have some too, do you want it?"

Chloe didn't even look at him and told him to get lost.

Daniel was so hurt he almost cried.

By the time they finished their meal, the courtyard was in a mess.

The firewood and charcoal had left ashes everywhere in the yard, and the iron pot had turned black from the high temperature, even dropping some soot on the ground.

The servants were about to go and help clean up, but Chloe wouldn't let them.

The way Chloe and the others behaved was truly rare.

But it wasn't entirely a bad thing, Xavier thought.

If Chloe liked it, then nothing else really mattered.

From what Xavier understood, these cubs all held high positions in their respective clan territories, which should be a considerable help to them in the future.

As Xavier was quietly calculating, his attention was inadvertently drawn away by the laughter and cheer from below.

Xavier lowered his gaze and watched for a while.

...They seemed to be having quite a bit of fun.

Well, as long as she was happy.

Xavier returned to his desk with the wine glass, looking at the submissive ministers before him, his voice cold and deep:

"Continue."

...

The Ancestors' Manor was large and the scenery beautiful, but for the cubs, no matter where they were, it would become boring if they stayed too long.

Unless the place was entirely made of candy, they might linger a bit longer.

Anyway, at this point, Daniel was already lonely enough to be picking flowers in the garden to eat.

Katherine's temple throbbed violently: "Didn't I tell you not to pick things from the garden and put them in your mouth?"

Daniel said pitifully, "But I'm eating them. The roses here are so sweet."

As he spoke, he held out a flower to Katherine: "Do you want to try?"

Katherine: "...No thanks, they haven't been washed."

Hearing this, Daniel shrugged and tossed the rose into his own mouth:

"You're as fussy as Chloe. What's wrong with you?"

As soon as the words left his mouth, a pebble struck him on the head.

Chloe spoke coldly from the other side: "I heard everything, you idiot."

Daniel immediately covered his head and moved away.

The five cubs lay in the garden for a while, then Daniel, restless with excitement, crawled to the wall nearby. He peered outside, his eyes shining as he said:

"Let's go play outside."

Chloe glanced at him: "There are kidnappers out there who specifically target children like us."

Daniel rolled his eyes: "I don't believe that."

With those words, he leaned his whole body outwards.
