When Lu Jia’er hurriedly arrived at the hospital and saw Jin Xiangdong, he was making a call in the corridor.
“Ace!” Lu Jia’er trotted over.
On hearing her voice, Jin Xiangdong turned around and saw her rushing to him. He was still on the phone. His English was fluent but his tone was heavy.
Lu Jia’er went to him. She said nothing and just stood with him quietly.
A moment later, Jin Xiangdong finished the call. He cast his gaze on her. Her expression revealed that she was filled with guilt and regret.
Jin Xiangdong did not say anything. He hugged her closely into his arms and buried his head in her hair. He held her tightly as if he was trying to seek some warmth from her.
Lu Jia’er could tell how grieved he must be from the strength of his grip. Before she knew it, her eyes had reddened with tears. She put her arms around him and gripped tightly onto his shirt. “I am sorry. I am the one to blame!”
Jin Xiangdong heard her choking in his arms. He let go of her slowly and saw sparkling tears spilling out from her eyes and coursing down her cheeks. While he was still burdened with sorrow, he tried to comfort her, “Now is not the time for sadness! Jia’er, I need your help.”
Lu Jia’er wiped away her tears. “What do you need me to do?”
“Hypnosis!” Jin Xiangdong used one word.
Lu Jia’er looked into his eyes. “You?”
Jin Xiangdong shook his head. “No, not me, but the ones with inside knowledge of Jason’s death!”
Lu Jia’er understood his words instantly. She remembered what he said in that phone call. “You want to transfer Jason to the States?”
Jin Xiangdong nodded. “Yes. I don’t want to lose him!”
Lu Jia’er paused for a bit. A glint of surprise flashed past her eyes. “You want to bring Jason back to life?”
Jin Xiangdong did not dodge the question. “I don’t know if I can do it!”
Lu Jia’er fixed her stare at him. “Have you developed this idea because of me?”
Jin Xiangdong hesitated for a few seconds before he admitted, “Half of the reason! You may find me crazy.”
Lu Jia’er shook her head. She was the best example of being brought back to life. If Jason’s life could be saved, she would naturally do her part. However, until now, she had no idea who her creators were.
“No, I don’t find you crazy! It’s just… I don’t know who created me yet…” said Lu Jia’er.
“We will find out!” Jin Xiangdong was convinced.
Lu Jia’er nodded. “Have you asked Professor Li about this?” She wondered.
Jin Xiangdong shook his head. “She is still in a coma and has no idea about my decision!”
“Have you thought about how to explain it to her?” She went on.
“Erase the memory of Jason’s death from her mind with hypnosis!” Jin Xiangdong decided.
Lu Jia’er thought for awhile before she said, “If that is the way you are going to go, then I will handle those that know of Jason’s death.”
Jin Xiangdong’s eyebrows were knitted together. He grabbed her arms. “Jia’er, I am conflicted inside…”
Lu Jia’er put her hand on his back and said comforting words with a gentle voice, “I understand. Jason is so young. Anyone would find his passing a pity. Besides, Su Han and I are the reason that caused his death! If he can be brought back to life, I am willing to do anything!”
Jin Xiangdong put his arms around her shoulders. “Jia’er, to transfer Jason to the States means that we can no longer hide your identity from my father and sister.”
Lu Jia’er was stunned. Nevertheless, she nodded. “If we can solicit help from your father and sister, then I am willing to become their research object!”
