Chapter 041 - He Shichen only wished the world would implode right now. (3)

The class teacher pulled a chair over and sat down next to He Shichen. He looked like he had something to say but was struggling to say it out loud. “Shichen, have you heard the rumors lately? Like now Chu Qianli was playing this little game with the other students……”

He Shichen’s face dropped when he heard that. “……”

Noticing He Shichen’s gloomy look, he quickly tried to salvage the situation. “I am not saying that its bad. We don’t deter students from having hobbies but school is where they come to learn. Certain activities should be kept lowkey and not seem too showy……”

He Shichen felt a headache coming on and placed his hand over his forehead. Forcing himself to remain calm, he asked, “……Teacher, may I ask why you are talking to me instead of Chu Qianli?”

He Shichen had gone numb.

He had never been called to the teacher’s lounge before. This was the very first time and he felt the desperation of being trapped!

He Shichen had been watching Chu Qianli’s activities this entire week but he forced himself to pretend that he didn’t notice any of them. No matter how many people came for her divination, he would just pretend that he saw nothing. He, too, had heard of the rumors within their grade but what did any of those have to do with him?

Why was it that she was the one spreading feudal superstition but he was the one brought in for the talk?!

The class teacher said to him thoughtfully, “Shichen, you know about her situation. She had just started at a new school and she grew up in an environment that was much different from that of the other students. I specifically had her sitting with Tan Muxing because he didn’t have bad habits like the others in class……”

All the students in a private school were either super rich or have impressive family backgrounds. Chu Qianli might feel a giant gap between herself and the others. Tan Muxing was nonaggressive and, at the very minimum, there would not be any conflicts between the two of them.

“She had only been here for a week. If I have her come for a chat, it might hurt her self-esteem. I think you should go and have a talk with your folks at home so they can have a talk with her. She should put her focus on studying and fortune telling should just be a hobby.”

In the class teacher’s mind, He Shichen had always been outstanding and mature. His calmness and steadiness were way ahead of his peers. That was the reason he was talking to him instead of Chu Qianli.

He Shichen said nonchalantly, “You overthought this. She had no such thing as self-esteem.”

They would not possibly discuss something that didn’t exist.

The class teacher had looked down at his cellphone and looked back up when he heard that He Shichen had said something. “Oh? Did you say something? Sorry. I was responding to a text from the principal.”

He Shichen changed his tune right away. “No, nothing.”

“Alright then. Do talk to her over the weekend.” The class teacher stood up to see He Shichen out. Right before He Shichen stepped out, he asked out of the blue, “Oh right. Is that real? I plan to move recently. Should I pick a good day to……”

He Shichen stared back at his class teacher expressionlessly.

He Shichen looked like he could eat him alive. It looked as though another word from him and He Shichen would explode on the spot.

The class teacher quickly shook his hands. “Nothing. Nothing. Off you go.”

He Shichen left feeling disturbed. He had learned that ignoring Chu Qianli was not a solution. This was a problem that he could not run away from.

Inside the class, Chu Qianli, who was sitting by the window, sneezed loudly. She immediately curled up like a dried shrimp.

Tan Muxing grabbed a tissue paper and handed it over to her. He asked attentively, “Are you cold? Let’s close the window up.”

Chu Qianli took the tissue paper from him and rubbed her nose with it. She said dully, “No need. Probably just someone thinking about me.”

When school was out, everybody started packing up and getting read for the happy weekend.

He Shichen glanced over at Chu Qianli and Tan Muxing who were chatting and laughing in the corner. He planned to have a serious discussion with a certain someone on the subject of spreading feudal superstition on their way home. At the very minimum, to not have the teachers talking to him about it.
