Chapter 047 - “Big Brother, everyone knows that you must make your demands first before you pay up.” (2)
He Yuanyang let out a long sigh. “Aye, you had no idea how exciting the currency market was last week. I listened to you and focused on the second half of the week but my timing was still off. I thought I’d quit while I was ahead and pocket what I had earned but then I turned around and the prices went up again.”
He Yuanyang placed all of his attention on bitcoin the entire week. Chu Qianli said the ups and downs would be quite drastic and that it was either making a lot or losing it all. As such, he spent a lot of time on determining when to buy in. He timed that well but he did not sell at its highest and he regretted about that.
That was not something that divination could help. Chu Qianli could give him advises on what to do but whether he was able to do it well was all up to him.
Different individuals would perform differently even with the same information. Hence the saying plans of the Heaven, conditions on earth, and efforts from men. All three factors are equally important.
He Yuanyang smiled and said, “Shichen, how did you do? When did you sell yours?”
Chu Qianli looked surprised, “I thought Big Brother didn’t buy any?”
Chu Qianli did remind He Shichen to make money but he scolded her sternly at the time. It didn’t seem like he paid attention to what she had said.
He Yuanyang knew He Shichen fairly well. He quickly shook his hand and said, “No, no. He may look like he was quiet and wasn’t paying attention but there were a lot going on in that mind of his. It was like a one-man show in his mind. He was so mad the first time he lost money and he has always been like this since he was a child……”
He Shichen wasn’t born good at investment. Things were rough when he first got started. He felt like it was the end of the world the first time he experienced setback.
Chu Qianli looked at He Shichen in surprise.
Self-esteem was very important to He Shichen. When the dark history in his childhood was brought up, he quickly put a stop to it stiffly, “Second Uncle.”
He Yuanyang was still revealing to Chu Qianli the kind of person that He Shichen was. “I paid for your divination, for sure he had eavesdropped and followed your advice secretly. He only pretended that he didn’t hear a word but would turn around and make a fortune!”
In a trance, Chu Qianli asked, “Is that what a tsundere is? I was so certain that he didn’t buy any at all.”
He Yuanyang, “No, no, no. If he says he isn’t going to buy that means he certainly will. When he says he doesn’t want something that means he does want it. Just assume it is the exact opposite of what he says. If he really doesn’t care for it, he won’t comment on it at all. If he responds to it, it means he cares a lot……”
Chu Qianli nodded quickly, “Oh, I get it now. I get it now.”
Yu Shen and He Zhenghe busted out laughing in agreement. “You have it nicely summarized!”
He Shichen, “……” Why do all these people like to talk about his dark histories from his childhood so much?!
He Yuanyang said loudly, “C’mon Shichen, talk to me. I’m not asking you to chip in on the divination. Just tell us how much you made last week!”
He Shichen felt crushed right now.
He Yuanyang wasn’t wrong and He Shichen did buy bitcoins secretly but he had no idea how much he made. Mainly because he had been so angry that he had forgotten all about it.
Chu Qianli urged him to make money during Monday’s breakfast like she was reciting a mantra. He felt rebellious immediately and wanted to purposefully ignored the bitcoin market. But he started calming down after a couple of days and started looking into the bitcoin market. He was finally able to find a good time to buy in.
He Shichen’s plan was to sell them back out on Friday but, when Friday came along, he was asked to go talk to the teacher, got into a squabble with Qi Yan, plunged into self-hatred mode that night and had yet to sell his bitcoins.
That was a big mistake on his part.
He Shichen hadn’t said anything about it this entire time because he was too embarrassed to say that he had forgotten about it
