Chapter 062 - “You need your surplus value wringed out of you for you to learn of your own value.” (1)

Chu Qianli would have gone even further if she was fighting with the money-printing machine at home, mainly because she knew that He Shichen would never raise a hand at her. She would refrain herself a lot more when she was outside. She did, after all, fought a lot with other astrologist in her previous life.

One must admit that, while she was great at numerology, she could also be very unruly.

It was alright if she was to run into someone her grandfather’s generation who had good temperaments but some of the more bad-tempered ones found her really annoying.

The students in class had no idea what happened in the back of the classroom. When they heard the noise and turned around, Wang Zheng was already on the floor.

The class teacher came quickly after she learned of the incident and all three involved in the conflict were brought to the office.

In the hallway, He Shichen and Qi Yan walked together with a stack of documents in their arms. They were a few steps away from each other and one of in front of the other. Neither one of them said anything and both of them planned on returning to their own classrooms.

The two would inevitably run into each other occasionally as both participated in extracurricular activities for the sake of extra credits. They were, after all, competitors.

The students gathered in front of the classroom chatting aroused He Shichen’s suspicion.

He wanted to disperse them. Frowning, he asked, “What is going on?”

“Chu Qianli, Tan Muxing, and Wang Zheng were in a conflict and all three of them were taken away by the teacher.”

“Hah?”

Qi Yan, too, stopped when she heard that and started listening in.

He Shichen was quite surprised by that but, being surprised too many times recently, he couldn’t summon up the appropriate emotion. He said mildly, “Wang Zheng is but a clown. How is it possible to get into a conflict with him?”

He Shichen felt numb.

Week one was a talk with a teacher about her astrology; week two was conflict with a fellow student. He started to wonder what she would do in week three. Blow the school up?

The other students gave He Shichen a surprised look when they heard his words. “You two are quite similar?”

He Shichen was baffled, “With whom?”

“Chu Qianli, of course. She seemed to have call Wang Zheng a clown and then Wang Zheng lost it.”

He Shichen, “…… why, thank you, that’s a nauseating thought.” He did not want to be similar to her, not even one bit.

Qi Yan mocked him slowly, “He Shichen, you are worse than I originally thought. And here you stood between me seeing her? If she is in my class, I guarantee you that person you talked about would not dare cause a scene in front of her.”

He Shichen turned around and stared at her. He said through gritted teeth, “Can you please not meddle into anything and everything?”

He Shichen felt that Qi Yan was very suspicious. She was obviously a child from a prominent family and grew up in a scheming environment. The way she talked and acted clearly demonstrated the fact that she was a strategist.

Chu Qianli, on the other hand, returned from the village. It was obvious that she could not outsmart Qi Yan and would most likely fall prey to her.

The He family had only been up and rising in the last few years and their family structure was quite simple. They were very different than Qi Yan’s family. He Shichen’s attitude toward Chu Qianli was complicated. It didn’t seem that he had the obligation to watch over her; but she would cause trouble if he just let her be, such as attracting the odd Qi Yan.

He Shichen did not believe in emotions, just stakes. When Chu Qianli proved to be of use to her, Qi Yan would be nice to her; once Chu Qianli was of no more use to her, things would be very different.

That was the reason he felt that it was best for the two of them stay away from each other.
