Three days later, Aethelwolf asked William to search for a suitable spot to open up a shop. He was determined to open his own shop. After the recent visit in the Ballard Pill Shop, he discovered that the shop didn't have any beauty-related pills. Aethelwolf knew that beauty products were in high demand for women. Even those high and mighty female cultivators were conscious of their appearance. He had seen their enthusiasm back when he launched the soap and other beauty products in his shops in the Regalis Continent. There was no competition in this line of business so no one should target him. His only worry was that people might get jealous of him if his business would grow bigger. To address this issue, Aethelwolf planned to limit the number of products available on sale. This should keep him from attracting too much attention.
William returned early in the afternoon to give his report. "My lord, I found three suitable spots that fit your description. Would you like to take a look?"
Arlan checked the time. It was still early and there was plenty of time to spare. "Alright. Just wait for me outside." He said.
"Yes, my lord." William bowed his head before he turned around and left.
Aethelwolf told his family that he would leave for a while. He didn't bring them this time since this trip was bound to be boring. His daughters would only sleep in the carriage if he brought them with him.
After informing his family, Aethelwolf went out of the house and entered the carriage.
"Hiyaa!" William urged the mounts to move after Aethelwolf took his seat.
Their first destination was close and they arrived after about ten minutes. The place was just right outside the boundary of the Golden Lake Manor. There were fewer people here than at the center of the market, but the advantage was that there were no big shops. If Aethelwolf sets up a shop here, business would be slow but peaceful.
Aethelwolf wasn't satisfied with the first location. He noticed that most of the people here were cultivators and mercenaries. There were even fewer women so his beauty shop might not do well here. "Let's go to the next location." He uttered before getting inside the carriage.
"Yes, my lord." As if noticing his lord's dissatisfaction, William decided to bring him to the best location he found. It was located at the heart of the market. There was a plot for sale which included an old restaurant. Business wasn't good anymore so the owner decided to sell the place. The restaurant was in an ideal location so the price was quite expensive.n(.o/(v()e.-L-/b-)1.-n
Aethelwolf got down from the carriage and examined the restaurant. It was a two-story building that was made of gray stones. It looked dull so Aethelwolf wasn't surprised that it had gone bankrupt.
"My lord, I have already spoken with the owner of the place and the price he quoted was 2 million Orbes. You can speak with him if you aren't satisfied with this price." William spoke as soon as he got down the carriage.
Aethelwolf nodded his head. "What do you think about the price?" He was still unsure about the value of the currency ao he didn't know if it was a fair price. After purchasing the Agalsistar, he was only left with 6 million Orbes.
William thought for a moment before he replied. "This price is already cheap considering the location of the shop."
"Is that so?" Aethelwolf expressed his understanding. The Agalsistar he bought from Ballard Pill Shop was 4 million Orbes. 2 million was indeed way cheaper compared to that. From this, he also realized how big of a difference there was between ordinary shops and those owned by nobles.
William brought Aethelwolf inside the restaurant and introduced him to the owner. It was a middle-aged man dressed in plain clothes. He looked tired and dispirited. He must be reluctant to sell the place for such a cheap price.
"Hello, sir! I brought Lord Aethelwolf to discuss the sale of this shop with you." William smiled at the owner.
The owner flashed a forced smile as he slightly lowered his head. "Greetings, Sir Aethelwolf. You can call me Vince. I am the owner of this shop."
Vince felt that Aethelwolf was a person of high status upon seeing him. He had a unique temperament that only those in high positions possessed. Vince didn't want to offend such people.
"Nice to meet you, Sir Vince." Aethelwolf smiled as he extended his hand.
Vince was surprised by this and quickly grabbed his outstretched hand. "I'm honored, Sir Aethelwolf." He replied.
"I heard from William that you are selling the place for 2 million Orbes." Aethelwolf didn't beat around the bush and directly went into business.
Hearing this, Vince thought that the other party found it expensive. "If it's too much for you, I can bring it down to 1.9 million Orbes. Although the shop is old, it's located in an ideal location so I believe this price is fair." He carefully said.
Aethelwolf shook his head. "I will buy it at 2 million Orbes."
Vince was a bit surprised by this. "Oh? Alright. Do you want us to sign the paperwork now?" The other party didn't even haggle with him and this made him certain about the former's identity.
Aethelwolf nodded his head. "Alright."
Vince brought them to his small office. "I haven't cleaned the office today. I hope you don't mind the mess." He uttered in embarrassment. He didn't expect someone to show any interest in his rundown restaurant so he didn't have the time to clean up the place.
"It's fine." Aethelwolf didn't mind this. In his past life, his office was may more messy than this room.
Vince heaved a sigh of relief. He then grabbed the ownership documents from a drawer and handed them to Aethelwolf. "Please sign here, Sir Aethelwolf."
Aethelwolf took out a pen as he scanned the documents using his spiritual perception. After seeing that nothing was amiss, he placed his signature and name.
Vince also wrote his signature.
After everything was done, Aethelwolf took out a small sack with 2 million Orbes from his storage space and handed it to Vince. "Thank you, Sir Vince."
Vince smiled at him. "I should be the one thanking you, Sir Aethelwolf."
Aethelwolf didn't know if Vince was truly happy that his restaurant was finally sold. He felt pity for the other party. "If you need help with anything, you can find me at the Golden Lake Manor." This was the only thing he could do for Vince.
Vince was taken about by his words. This man was actually the new owner of the Golden Lake Manor! "Thank you, Sir Aethelwolf." He didn't reject Aethelwolf. There was no harm in making friends with someone like him.
