The moment she heard Su Yueli’s voice, the world around her collapsed and a loud “bang” sounded. Qin Wanwan felt a great force hit her. She felt someone press her down to the ground and heard a cough. There was warm blood on her shoulder.
“Jian Zhiyan?” Qin Wanwan was forcibly extracted from Su Yueli’s shihai, so her mind was fairly muddled.
Jian Xingzhi removed his hand from her back and wiped the blood from his lips, not saying much.
Just now, all the Spiritual Power he used came from Qin Wanwan. All of it was absorbed into the body of ‘Jian Zhiyan’ using the array on his hand. So, it was not that he used his Spiritual Root and broke through Golden Core. Though, because he could only rely on external factors like Qin Wanwan, he wasn’t a match for someone half-a-step to the Transformation Period.
“Are you alright?”
Qin Wanwan couldn’t figure out the current situation. She supported Jian Xingzhi, who appeared to be injured. She was worried. “Let’s return first, okay?”
Jian Xingzhi shook his head and was about to speak when they heard a loud shout outside the door, “Qin Wan!”
The voice was accompanied by roaring wind. Jian Xingzhi pushed Qin Wanwan aside and rolled away.
Qin Wanwan bumped into a nearby pillar and shifted her gaze to the voice. She saw Jun Shu knelt on one knee not far away.
His jade flute hit the ground and there was a smudge of blood on his lips. His breath was chaotic. He was clearly injured.
Qin Wanwan remembered the sound of the flute she heard in Su Yueli’s shihai and came to a realization.
“Just now, it’s you?”
Noticing it was Qin Wanwan who was the one who retaliated against his flute, Jun Shu sneered. His usual gentle tone was followed by the sound of gnashing teeth, “Qin Wan, I underestimated you. Since you have the ability to hurt me, why do you still pretend that you lose your cultivation base?”
Qin Wanwan’s mind blanked. She looked down at her hands in disbelief. She lifted her hands and noticed the residue of Spiritual Power on her hands, “I… I hurt you?”
“That’s right,” Jian Xingzhi watched her from the side as he felt the glorious electric current shock him in his shihai, courtesy to 666. He quickly lied and spouted gibberish, following the prompt the System gave him, “You are truly my pride, you are stronger than I thought!”
With that, the electric current eased.
Qin Wanwan was in a trance. She glanced at Jun Shu, who was injured and then at her own hands, which still had residue of Spiritual Power.
She really was the one who hurt him. Could it be that this was the legendary Golden Finger of the Female Lead?!
She also got Jian Xingzhi’s affirmation. Qin Wanwan was hopping around with joy in her mind.
38 stuffed down the words on its mouth when it perceived Qin Wanwan’s mood. It changed its tone and encouraged, “Host, do you feel the joy of being the Great Female Lead?”
“Feel…” Qin Wanwan dazedly replied, still unable to entirely believe it. “I feel it.”
“Qin Wan!” Realizing Qin Wanwan was in a trance, Jun Shu was a bit mad, “Ben Shaozhu is talking to you, are you deaf?!”
“Fight!” 38 excitedly cheered, “Beat him up!”
“Don’t…” Qin Wanwan rose to her feet and warned him with her quivering voice, “Don’t step out of line!”
“Ben Shaozhu stepped out of line,” Jun Shu sneered. “What are you going to do?”
He flipped the jade flute in his hand and pierced straight at Qin Wanwan, “If you dare to make trouble in Exquisite Pavillion, naturally, you are ready to pay the price, aren’t you? I’d like to see how much price you can pay!”
“Bastard!” Jian Xingzhi noticed Jun Shu’s move and was about to counter him. Though, as soon as he moved, the electric current in his shihai activated again. 666 yelled, “Don’t!”
Jian Xingzhi paused. He inhaled a deep breath and quickly adjusted his mind.
“Qin Wan,” Jian Xingzhi roared, “Fight back!”
Qin Wanwan was driven back by Jun Shu and was cornered to the wall. When she heard Jian Xingzhi, she took a gamble. She stepped on the wall and did a somersault. She used her flute as a sword and slashed toward Jun Shu’s face!
Jun Shu scoffed, he tilted his head slightly to the side. On the side, Jian Xingzhi condensed a needle with his shenshi and flicked it toward Jun Shu.
“Splendid!”
The flute strikes Jun Shu’s back and staggered him
“Gorgeous!”
The flute sliced Jun Shu’s face and created a blood mark on his face.
“Master’s swordsmanship is as graceful and brilliant as the flying dragon! As amazing as an expert!”
The flute struck Jun Shu’s hand and flung his jade flute away.
“Master, I’m so proud of you!”
The flute collided with Jun Shu’s chest and reeled him back.
“You shut up!”
Jun Shu turned his head and roared. Qin Wanwan seized the chance. She thrust the flute and kicked him down. She didn’t know who she learned the move from, but then, she stepped hard on Jun Shu’s face and pointed the flute at Jun Shu, “Who are you roaring at?”
“That’s right,” Jian Xingzhi saw Qin Wanwan stand for him and had an indescribable joy. He flung his sleeve and repeated to Jun Shu, “Who are you roaring at?”
“Who gave you the nerve to talk?” The guard outside was angered and drew his dagger and pointed it at Jian Xingzhi, “It’s not your turn to talk!”
“Qin Wan,” Jian Xingzhi shifted to Qin Wanwan, “He said I am not qualified to speak.”
“You shut up,” Qin Wanwan ground her heels on Jun Shu’s face and waved her flute to point at the door, “Since when is it your turn to talk?”
“You all shut up!”
Jun Shu roared again. He panted and organized his breathing, “Qin Wan, move, let me stand.”
“Go ah, stand.” Qin Wanwan was proud of her strength and expressed confidently, “Let me ask you one question first. Answer with only the truth. Shen Zhiming’s tracking spell, can you obliterate it?”
Jun Shu ridiculed her, “You want to obliterate your Shifu’s tracking spell? What tricks are you going to play?”
“A question; An answer.” Jian Xingzhi displayed some impatience, “It’s that simple and you don’t understand it?”
“I can.” Jun Shu showed his contempt and glared at Jian Xingzhi, “However, I won’t do it for free. Wake Su Yueli and we have a deal.”
“Easy.” Qin Wanwan burst into laughter. She retracted her foot. “Don’t regret it, though.”
Jun Shu stared blankly at her. The guards outside rushed up and supported him. He was still staring at Qin Wanwan in disbelief. He repeated, “I said, wake Su Yueli and we have a deal.”
“I heard it the first time. It’s not a big deal.” Qin Wanwan beamed. “You help me solve this spell; I help you wake her.”
“Since when you are so generous?” Jun Shu doubted, “If that is so, why don’t you save her earlier?”
“I just got the chance to examine her condition tonight,” Qin Wanwan spoke frankly, “How could I know I can save her earlier? Nonetheless, I have figured it out.”
“Still pretending,” Jun Shu mocked, “Qin Wan, I understand your mindset. Don’t think that if you save Su Yueli, I will be moved. In my heart, you will never be as good as Su Yueli.”
QIn Wanwan, “……”
Her fist itched. Was it alright if she punch him?
But, considering their plan to descend the mountain, she decided to let bygones be bygones.
She inhaled a deep breath and smiled, “Jun-shaozhu, just speak, do we have a deal or not?”
Jun Shu contemplated about it and nodded, “Fine, we have.”
“Then…”
“However,” Jun Shu stopped Qin Wanwan, “I need some time to obliterate your Shifu‘s tracking spell.”
“How long?”
“Two days.”
“That’s alright.” Qin Wanwan gave a nod. “In two days, you will obliterate the tracking spell for me and I will wake Su Yueli for you. Just promise me this,” Qin Wanwan smirked, “Don’t regret it.”
“What schemes are you playing at again?”
Qin Wanwan shrugged and didn’t elaborate further.
“That’s it. I will see you again in two days.” She turned away and strode in Jian Xingzhi’s direction. She stretched out her hand towards Jian Xingzhi.
Jian Xingshi rose to his feet without accepting Qin Wanwan’s help. Qin Wanwan was not offended. She trailed to the door with Jian Xingshi tailed behind her. When they were at the door, Qin Wanwan seemed to remember something and angled her head at Jun Shu, “That… Jun-shaozhu.”
“What?”
Jun Shu looked back at Qin Wanwan and caught Qin Wanwan’s grave face, “May I ask if Jun-chengzhu[1] has any other children?”
“I’m the only child in my family,” Jun Shu scowled, “You know this already, why do you still ask me that?”
“Oh,” Qin Wanwan bobbed her head up and down. After a while, she earnestly suggested, “Then, you should go back and told Jun-chengzhu that he still has time to have another one for the sake of Lecheng’s future.”
“Qin Wan!”
“No need to send us out!” Jian Xingzhi noticed Jun Shu flared up and cut him off. He waved his hand with his back to Jun Shu and nudged Qin Wanwan, “Let’s go.”
With that, both of them departed in an ostentatious manner.
Jun Shu watched their backs with clenched fists.
The guard came forward. He shivered and called out, “Shaozhu…”
“How did Qin Wan get in?!”
Jun Shu got someone to vent on and yelled at him.
“I… I don’t know.”
“Then, how was that Jian Zhiyan still alive? How was he able to get inside?”
“I… I don’t know.”
“Since when did Qin Wan have such strength?! Why don’t I know it?!”
“Shaozhu doesn’t know,” The guard was about to cry, “How could this subordinate know?”
“You good-for-nothing!” Jun Shu swung his palm to the guard square on the face.
“Yes, yes!” The guard quickly stabilized himself and knelt on the ground, “I will investigate it now!”
The guard hurried out. Meanwhile, Qin Wanwan and Jian Xingzhi strolled out of the courtyard together. The two glanced at each other with tacit understanding and laughed.
Qin Wanwan coughed lightly, with a bit of embarrassment in her eyes, “Tonight, you must be startled.”
The author has something to say:
Jian Xingzhi, “I felt an odd happiness after I got used to this setting.”
Qin Wanwan: “Jian Xingzhi’s form of happiness. Today, get!”
