When I came home from school, I looked at the calendar hanging on the wall in my room.

Today is Wednesday, September 30th.

In other words, September is about to end as soon as today.

Tomorrow is October.

That means that Shi-chan’s birthday month is finally coming.

As mentioned in Lime’s ID, Shi-chan’s birthday is Monday, October 12th.

Since her birthday is coming up in less than half a month, I felt like I should prepare something for her, but I still didn’t know what to prepare.

Thinking about it, I realized that I didn’t have much information about Shi-chan, such as her hobbies or places she wanted to go.

It was completely pathetic that I hadn’t realized this until I started thinking about her birthday present, but that didn’t mean that I should leave things as they were.

So I decided to start by getting to know Shi-chan better.

At that moment, I received a Lime from Shi-chan.

“Takkun, I’m home! I just finished shopping and I’m lying down in my room.”

It was just a casual message, but ever since we started dating, sending each other Lime messages like this has become a routine for us.

Even when we don’t see each other, sharing information about what we’re doing makes us feel closer to each other.

So, to be honest, I feel a lot safer thanks to this communication.

I’m proud to say that I’m Shi-chan’s boyfriend, but the truth is that she’s still my girlfriend, and if I wanted to think negatively…… if a better guy came along than me, I couldn’t help but do so.

So, the only thing I can do is to make an effort to become a man who is worthy of Shi-chan’s partner. Perhaps because I have been thinking that way, I have been passive most of the time, and I finally realized that I had fallen into the trap of not knowing much about Shi-chan.

Finally realizing this, I decided to ask Shi-chan a few questions about herself.

However, it would be better if she didn’t know that I was trying to celebrate her birthday, so I was very careful not to let her know.

I decided to ask her what kind of books she was reading, while also responding to the Lime she had sent me twice.

“Just a regular book!”

But for some reason, she took a little time to reply this time, though she usually replies immediately.

And I was a little puzzled by the tasteless reply, which was far too simple for the time it took.

And so I ended the day without having a clue as to what I wanted from Shi-chan—–.

The next morning, I went to my usual meeting place in front of the station.

When I arrived at the rendezvous point, I found Shi-chan there ahead of me as usual.

“Ah, good morning Takkun!”

She smiled at me with an angelic smile, and I was filled with happiness from this morning.

“Good morning Shi-chan, you look so cute today.”

“Eh? Y-yeah, thank you …….ehehe”

The happy smiling Shi-chan was an angel after all.

We met up and walked hand in hand towards the school, talking about the usual trivial things.

“We have PE today, right?”

“Yes, I have soccer today, but what is it for the girls?”

“We’re playing basketball in the gym, and I’m not very good at it. I wish I could play as well as Yamamoto-kun.”

While saying that, Shi-chan made a shooting gesture, “Shu!”

Each of her casual gestures was just so cute.

But I wanted to ask her what she wanted, but I didn’t know when to ask her, so I couldn’t start a conversation.

“Uhm….D-Do you have any, you know, things you want?” (Shi-chan)

“Eh, me?!” (Takkun)

I was surprised when Shi-chan asked me what I want, but I don’t know why.

But anyway, I should answer this question, right?

What I want…… I can’t think of anything at all.

I can’t believe I’m saying this, but I’ve grown up with no real hobbies or interests in my life.

That’s why I have very little stuff in my room, and the only thing I’ve added recently is Angel Girls related goods.

No, no, there was no way I could tell Shi-chan that I am into Angel Girls merchandise.

When I was at a loss for an answer, Shi-chan must have noticed me.

“Then, think about what you want, okay?”

She held my hand again and smiled happily at me.

I felt ashamed of myself for always letting Shi-chan pull me along.

So I decided to ask her about it.

“I’m sorry, I have to…… Well, you know, S-Shi-chan, is there anything you want or anything?”

I couldn’t say it well, but I was finally able to ask her what she wanted.

When I asked Shi-chan about it, she was surprised and tilted her to the side.

I guess Shi-chan didn’t expect that I would be asked the same question.

Like me, Shi-chan’s expression was changing and she didn’t seem to know what to say.

Thinking that we are really similar, I smiled gently at her.

“Well, think about what you want.”

Shi-chan gave a puzzled look at my words, and then we both laughed together as if we were blowing up.

We went to school together again today, promising to think of what we wanted for each other.

My birthday is on October 15th – well, actually, three days after Shi-chan’s birthday, my birthday is also coming up.
