Almost all of the events for the coronation were prepared by both Flunra and Evelyn.
In the new era, there was hardly any resemblance to this kind of day.
Since there were no rulers that could be considered as unique, as him—deciding to umbrella, both Supernaturals and Humans—not a single standard existed for him. Because of that fact, they were free to add any necessities that should be made to mark Rex's coronation—as the new standard in this era.
However, at the beginning ceremony of his coronation, Rex made a personal request.
Currently, there were no empires that existed in this continent.
Now that he was going to establish one, its establishments must be backed by something.
Rex made a decision to create a trademark that was also a declaration to all.
Since he dares to create an empire with numerous kingdoms under it, he essentially accepts the burden that it would bring with hostile forces still looming around. Due to that, Rex made a decision to create a trademark that was also his statement to those hostile forces.
He settled on a name, and from now on the stone would be called the Regicide of Darkness.
It was essentially equivalent to Rex saying that if he could kill an Executor, then it was not an impossible task for him to dispatch all of them too. Naturally, this trademark would only grow more prominent with time as he planned on completing the collection.
A collection of the Executors' weapons.
Beating the Fifthborn was the end, he initially thought—it was clearly not.
Maybe there was some form of trigger with his death, but the Fourthborn was awakened.
As of this very moment, Rex doesn't know the deal with the Fourthborn.
Even though he came and attempted vengeance against Rex—it remained uncertain whether he had fully awakened—or if it was merely a singular occurrence. Nevertheless, regardless of the Fourthborn's current state, Rex was certain that he would return again in the future.
Like a domino effect—if Rex prevailed in the end, then all Executors would be killed by him.
Confident in doing exactly that, he decided to create this trademark.
Realizing whom the spear belonged to, the onlookers could feel a shiver down their spine.
Upon Rex's arrival back to Dargena City alongside the army a week ago, many people harbor skepticism about the victory, against the Executor. Given their history with the Fifthborn—or the Executors to be precise, doubts naturally arose.
Such entities are not categorized to be possibly beaten, even their Origins failed to do that.
But with this trademark, those doubts were washed away.
Hmm... I guess this kind of display was too much for the regular people.
Sweeping the crowd with his eyes, Rex rubbed his chin, he was not expecting this reaction.
He expected a cheer as he made it clear that the Fifthborn was dead.
Just then—when Rex let go of the spear and let its own power course through the rock and was about to head back inside the castle to continue the coronation, Evelyn suddenly made her way towards him with gentle steps.
"Long live the Emperor..."
Reaching her hands, she made the bold move to kiss Rex on the cheek as a good luck charm.
Hearing her soft mumble, the onlookers at the very front snapped out of their dazes first and one of them cheered on reaction, reciting what Evelyn said. His voice echoed throughout the square, igniting an explosion of cheers from the remaining crowd.
Every single soul in the square cheered and sent praises to Rex.
Not only the core people of Dargena City itself, but residents from other kingdoms also did.
"You did it, Rex," Evelyn muttered, the smile on her face, was a beautiful sight to see. "It was not easy, but you managed to create the dream world you wanted. It was still far from being perfect, yet this is a big step for your success,"
Both hands embracing his face, she added, "Smile to the crowd, and let's get you crowned,"
Upon hearing this, Rex's lips couldn't help but curl into a smile.
Grabbing ahold of Evelyn's hand, he turned to the people—his people and waved his hand.
His smile made the cheer even more thunderous as if it was shaking the square's very core.
Furthermore—adorning the forefront of the crown was a prominent star emblem that served as a focal point, symbolizing Rex's position as the Alpha, of the Silverstar Pack. Even though he was not directly involved in its crafting—it was clear that the crown was made with much pondering by the crafter.
Keeping his gaze forward, Rex approached the crown bearers with measured steps.
Upon reaching the crown bearers—he released Evelyn's hand—and stood upright. Observing the cue from Queen Shanaela, and the pillow located in front of her and Douglas, Rex arched an eyebrow in question.
Realizing what he needs to do, Rex heads to the pillow in preparation.
Naturally, being taller than the two of them, he would need to take a knee to be crowned.
But as he was about to do that and bend a knee, he suddenly straightened it again.
[Warning! The user of invincibility is prohibited from kneeling lest incurring heavy penalties!]
The System is still upgrading, and yet it still prevents me from kneeling?
Upon seeing the notification, Rex could only smile wryly.
Even without the System's warning, he could still feel his knees were too stiff to bend.
Somehow, deep down he was still in the fight against the Fifthborn.
Realizing that Rex retreated from kneeling on the pillow, Queen Shanaela was confused as all eyes were currently directed at them. However, she was quick to adapt, considering that Rex was not fond of this gesture in mind.
Taking the crown with deliberate care, she poised it to the center and let Douglas hold it too.
Swoosh!
In a swift and light chant, she channeled her energy and lifted both her and Douglas.
Nodding his head lightly in affirmation, pleased that Queen Shanaela was quick to realize the situation, Rex tilted his head down, a little. Holding the crown above Rex's head—both crown bearers prepared for the pivotal point of this day.
"I, as the representative of the Human race,"
"And I, as the representative of the Supernatural race,"
Making the statement, the two then steadied their voice and said in a dignified union.
"Hereby proclaim Rex Silverstar as Emperor of Clarentium Empire..."
"May your reign be long and prosperous, and fulfill promises made for the people and land,"
Upon declaring the change of status—Queen Shanaela, and Douglas made a united effort to place the crown on Rex's head with grace—and reverence. As the crown reverently made its way to the emperor's head, a hushed awe descended upon the nobilities.
Suddenly, the crown burst into brilliance, illuminating the hall with an otherworldly glow.
Following that was the earth subtly trembling beneath their feet.
As if acknowledging the emperor's ascension with a resounding welcome—even the ground seemed to celebrate. In that luminous moment—the realm itself, appeared to bow before its new ruler, signaling the dawn of a new era with Rex at its helm.
Rex lifted his head again, before Queen Shanaela and Douglas moved to the side.
Both were making way for Rex to ascend to the throne.
Even though the throne didn't change—it was still the same as it was before Rex's change in status, the sight of it seemed different. Looking at it for a second—Rex made his steady way to the throne.
Only when he reached the top did he pause to look at the throne for a second.
If he sat on it right now, then he would undergone a massive change.
No turning back now. I already made up my mind, and this step is to realize my vision.
Convincing himself to proceed, Rex stepped to the throne before turning around—looking at the onlookers inside the grand hall. He swept his gaze one last time—before he sat down on the throne, resting both of his arms to the side.
Upon sitting on the throne, it was not a far fetch to say that Rex felt the change instantly.
He is now a new man, he is not Rex Silverstar the retired military special unit—no.
He is now Emperor, Emperor Rex Silverstar.
