Another day passed, and Rex was not oblivious enough to not notice the change.
Over the last couple of days, he wanted to say something to Adhara, Evelyn, or Gistella—but he was too afraid to even look at their eyes. Making right of the situation is top priority, but it was hard for him to do as none of them even wanted to be in his presence.
He doesn't have the bravery to do that now, and he reckoned that they needed time.
"Bringing them to the Fated Mountain is an option, but it's no use if they don't want to come,"
Rex rubbed his forehead, he had absolutely no clue on how to settle this matter.
However, today is not the time for him to make a move.
Since the cat was already out of the bag, Calidora became bolder and asked to move in.
A formal request came by the other day with the stamp of Elder Nolacula himself stating her desires. Rex found it impossible to refuse—especially considering the reasoning behind this, was the fact that the unborn child longed to be near its father.
If it was put like that, he couldn't even consider saying no.
Even then, he did notify the others about this so that they wouldn't be surprised.
"She should arrived before night," Rex mused and stood up from the throne with a sigh.
Despite the situation taking a lot of his attention, he still needs to plan ahead.
Making his way through the empty corridors—he stepped out onto the balcony, and lifted his gaze skywards to see the white sphere. Unlike before, the white sphere was now blinding—it also rippled the sky with its power.
Rex didn't need to ask anyone to know that the Second Breath was coming.
He also doesn't know what would happen in the Second Breath.
As the System was still offline and unresponsive, he couldn't ask about it either.
However, he refused to rely solely on the System's timing, recognizing that the emergence of the Second Breath could either present a threat or an opportunity. Contemplating the realms, he was aware there were two higher realms above him, the tenth and the eleventh ranks.
Rumors said that there was the twelfth-rank realm, but it was still too far for the current Rex.
He needs to take it a step at a time as he did before all of this.
Knowing his position, he couldn't ask about this to anyone and needed to be careful.
It would be bad if any hostile parties knew that he was not aware of the realms above.
Because of that, he decided that he would sneak out and go to the Elven territory.
Queen Shanaela is his choice to trust, she has done enough to earn his trust for this matter.
But before that, there's also another thing for him to deal with.
"Flunra..."
Almost instantly, Flunra appeared behind him, kneeling on one knee.
"You call for me, Your Majesty?"
"Yes. I anticipated arrival of the next full moon is overdue,"
"Ah... the world awakening likely influences this delay. I assume you seek insight into the forthcoming properties of the next full moon?"
Upon hearing this, Rex nodded.
Deprived of access to his stats tab—Rex didn't know when the full moon was going to come out, but he was pretty sure that it should be coming near. But even then, he didn't feel some indication that it was coming.
Even the moonlight energy level was not rising.
Not to mention, he didn't even know what the next full moon would be.
However, he has Flunra to help him with this, "The Honey Full Moon is the next one to grace us, Werewolves with its presence. As for its effects on us—Your Majesty doesn't need to be worried, it's rather docile, it is one of the few full moons that would not increase our berserk tendency."
"I do need to tell you about the Lunar Bees that we need to deal with," He added.
Rex raised an eyebrow when he heard this, "Lunar Bees?"
In the serene sanctum of a bed chamber—an ethereal elven woman, delicately unclasped her shimmering earrings, their luster rivaling that of the stars. Seated before the mirror—she was adorned in a resplendent gown of royal green, emanating the grace and majesty befitting her royal lineage.
She gazed at her reflection before stretching her body.
One could tell that she was tired, but the curl on her lips indicated her good mood.
Her room which was dominated by the hues of pristine white, verdant green, and burnished gold, alongside the verdant oasis of lush foliage, and vibrant blooms—mirrored her buoyant mood.
Closely assessing her appearance, she ran her slender hand through her golden silken hair.
All the while humming a joyful tune.
Naturally, she was Queen Shanaela, and she seemed to have finished another party.
Celebrating the success of the alliance treaty, which now led them free from the shackles of the high-rank Supernaturals, Queen Shanaela was definitely, in a good mood. After all of the suffering her people endured, it was time for flourishing.
Swoosh...
Queen Shanaela turned to the side, seeing the curtains of her windows fluttering.
Heading to close the windows, she was met with the orange-golden light from the sun.
It seemed the sun was about to set and gave their turn to the night.
But as she was about to close the windows, the hairs on her nape prickled from a presence.
"I'm pleased to see the Elven people in a good condition,"
Upon hearing the voice, Queen Shanaela instantly pivoted around, her eyes widening at the sight of Rex—standing several steps behind her. Realizing that it was him—Queen Shanaela froze momentarily before gracefully deciding to kneel out of respect.
Rex, however, stopped her from doing that, "No need for that if there's no one around,"
"I knew that you have a son, so I expected your husband to be here," He added.
Queen Shanaela tidied her dress and shook her head, "My husband passed years ago,"
Not wanting to idle in the conversation about her husband—she quickly added, "I believe it's not appropriate to be conversing here. Should I prepare a room for us? I can attest that not a single Elf would disturb us,"
Since they were inside her bed chamber, it was definitely not appropriate.
Especially with the rumors of Calidora's pregnancy.
Among all concerns, Queen Shanaela dreaded the prospect of Evelyn, Adhara, or Gistella perceiving her as a threat for being inside a room with Rex alone. Such misinterpretations could lead to misunderstandings that are hard to deal with.
"No, it's better to not have anyone know that I came here," Rex denied the offer.
He wouldn't want anyone to know that he came here to visit.
Understanding that the matters were serious, Queen Shanaela gestured to small chairs and a table to the side, "Forgive me, Emperor Rex, but I only have my regular tea here," She said, as she and Rex sat down face-to-face.
Rex didn't mind and let Queen Shanaela pour him a cup of warm tea.
Taking a sip of the tea, Rex nodded and decided to be direct, "I came here for one reason,"
"I heard that the Elves have an archive of information from the past, and I want to access it for matters regarding the upper realms for Werewolves. Maybe the information wouldn't be exact, but anything will do for now," He explained his visit.
Queen Shanaela didn't seem to be surprised, she knew that this day would come.
Elves has the oldest recordings of the past, and it's still accessible to now.
It was not hard to know as the Elven nobles boasted to Rex about it during the banquet.
Despite his scarce knowledge of the above realms, Rex knew that reaching the tenth or any realm above the ninth was different. Asking the Werewolves about the realms above—is the right way to get a direct answer, but that's impossible with the Storm Prince around.
So, he decided to get any new information from the Elves first.
At least, he needs to do this because he didn't know when the System would come back.
It could be tomorrow or even years from now, and he didn't want to rely on that chance.
Nodding her head, Queen Shanaela then said, "Please follow me, I'll show you the records"
