Chapter 1149: Hunting As A Pack (1)

As the System stated earlier, the Emulation feature had been integrated into the skill section.

Rex could see the changes upon opening the skill section.

Unlike before the system upgrade when the skill section comprised only one normal skill tree—that branched to many paths, depending on what he had selected, there was a new tab on the side that Rex could click.

It was the emulation tab, and upon opening it, he was greeted by another massive skill tree.

Numerous skills, represented by connected circles appeared before him.

Compared to the normal skill tree, this skill tree was special.

All of the skills in this skill tree here are skills associated with all existing Full Moons.

Blood Full Moon, Dark Full Moon, Violet Full Moon—and any other Full Moons are listed here.

Even the skill blessing he was bestowed during the previous full moons could be seen there such as the Storm Dive skill, or even, the Violet Wrath. He could have each one of them with this special skill tree.

However—the Full Moons that are unlocked for him are only the Blood and Dark Full Moons.

Just like the notification stated before the skills he could learn were limited to the Full Moons he unlocked, which meant only the Full Moons he possessed a King Mark on. Other than that—they were all greyed out.

Some skills on the Ice and Snow Full Moon were not greyed out like the rest though.

Rex didn't know exactly why, but he would delve into it later.

Divine Upgrade is the only currency used in this skill tree, gold or skill upgrades are useless.

In addition, as he went over to one random skill, he couldn't help but frown.

Hmm...? So it's not always permanent?

Upon clicking a random skill called the Blood Hunter, Rex was offered two choices.

One of them is to borrow the skill, while the other is to obtain the skill permanently.

For three uses he needs to pay 5 Divine Upgrades which was a lot considering that the quest against the Fifthborn only gave him 20 Divine Upgrades. On the other hand—to learn the skill permanently, he would need to pay 30 Divine Upgrades.

It was extremely expensive, Rex couldn't buy one skill permanently.

But then again, saying that it's expensive is foolish of him.

Considering that he didn't know how to earn Divine Upgrade, this price might even be cheap.

However, for his current Divine Upgrade, these skills are expensive.

Just as Rex was scanning the Blood Moon skill tree, familiarizing himself with its intricacies—his gaze abruptly fixated on the central point of the diagram. Unlike the other skills—one skill stood out, it resided within a larger circle, and detached from the network of connections.

A solitary skill that doesn't need a path, and Rex was curious about it.

Clicking the skill, a notification popped out.

<Does the user want to use the Blood Moon Order skill for 3 Divine Upgrades?>

Blood Moon Order skill...? What is that?

<Upon purchasing the Blood Moon Order skill, the user's combined kingly energy, transforms into Blood Moon kingly energy, changing the user into the Blood Moon persona. All skills that are associated with the Blood Moon are amplified, and will also gain the following benefits:>

→ Exponential boost in overall stats.

→ Lose the ability to feel pain entirely, and become more feral the more pain suffered.

→ Gain the Kaiser's Aura skill.

→ Regress the user's intelligence but amplify cunningness and resourcefulness as a hunter.

Reading the System's explanation, Rex laughed inwardly.

"Persona, huh...? So you mean to tell me that all Full Moons have this Order skill?" Rex mused.

<Yes, the Order skill is not exclusive to one Full Moon>

Even though Rex cursed the System for taking a long time to be upgraded, he could not stay angry when the result of the upgrade was this good. Now that Rex, had ingress to this Order skill, he could basically utilize all of the Full Moon's strengths to his advantage.

He could choose which persona he wanted to turn into depending on his current situation.

Cornered? Blood Moon persona it is.

Need speed? Storm Moon persona it is.

Fighting dimensional being? Banished Dark Moon it is.

The previous Royal Black Prince may have possessed numerous King Marks, but he couldn't harness their power to this extent. While having multiple King Marks is advantageous, giving him the ability to be versatile—it also means that the kingly energy within him is divided into the number of King Marks he possesses.

His powers were split, and the individual power of each King Mark was lackluster.

Compared to someone who only specializes in one King Mark, say the Blood Moon King Mark—the Royal Black Prince's Blood Moon King Mark, is not as developed. But now, with the help of the System, Rex didn't need to worry about that.

Even now, if Rex tries to activate only one King Mark, the kingly energy is still halved.

His other half of kingly energy was on the other King Mark.

Strength: 2,100,250 (-370,700)

Agility: 1,125,500 (-230,000)

Endurance: 2,810,650 (-844,900)

Intelligence: 400,000

Danger Zone: Mouth, Claws, and Tail.

...

Upon looking at the mutated animal's stats, Rex's eyes widened completely.

Its physical stats are in the millions, this is the first time I saw something reached that high.

As Rex faced an entity approaching the tenth-rank realm for the first time, he wasn't entirely surprised to see the stats. He couldn't fight this thing alone, if it could move—and the minus beside the stats must be from being struck by the lightning strikes.

On top of that, there was an additional section in the stats, the Danger Zone.

Judging from its name, the section should be obvious.

Swoosh!

Suddenly—the ground around the mutated animal began to wave before vines erupted from underneath. It was Dindora's—she manipulated nature and entrapped the mutated animal in its place, paying extra care to its vicious tail.

Following her move were the others' spells and skills, shot straight at the mutated animal.

None of them did anything, but it served as a good distraction.

Roar!!

Even though its tail was entrapped by the vines, it broke through easily and shot towards the incoming people. One hit from the tail was enough to obliterate anyone and that alone forced the guards to be extra careful.

If Linthia got down with one hit, then they would undoubtedly end up the same with a hit.

Seeing this, however, Rex made his move.

Almost in an instant, he used his new skill, the Primordial Step to intercept the tail.

Upon activating the skill—the moonlight, and kingly energy inside of him rushed to his lower limbs in an instant. Making a step forward—his delicate touch on the ground—produced this surge of energy that permeated from the point where his foot landed.

Akin to a ripple in the surface of water, a combination of white, red, and black colors rippled.

Only then that Rex's eyes widen.

He didn't feel his body becoming lighter, but he did feel his legs becoming stronger.

Looking down he could see that the energies were coalescing around his legs in a union.

Swoosh!

Rex's body blurred even through the eyes of the others—his speed exponentially increased.

Moving faster than ever before, he reached the tail and ensnared it with his arms, stopping it dead in its tracks. Despite the mutated animal's efforts to retract its appendage—it remained firmly gripped in Rex's grasp.

"Adhara!" Rex shouted, signaling for her to move.

Upon hearing this, Adhara leaped high—alongside Flunra right behind her.

With daggers crossed over her body, she aimed herself at the mutated animal—prepared to strike. Flunra, from behind, seized her feet, and threw her with all his strength forward, right at the mutated animal, turning her into a flaming violet meteor.

BOOM!!

Flames exploded everywhere, but on the other side, Adhara rolled with a frown.

"It phased through my attack, I didn't hit it!" She announced.

Rex smiled when at the revelation before his eyes gleamed with a devious glint as an energy field surged outward from his body, extending far beyond, the battlefield. It was his Latch of Chains skill, powered by his kingly energy instead of Chaos energy.

His skill locked the surrounding dimension, stopping the mutated animal's ability to phase.

Particularly, the mutated animal knew that it couldn't phase anymore.

It was obvious since it instantly glared at Rex when the Latch of Chains skill was active.

Following that, Kyran appeared from behind.

He sprinted with all his might with a huge amount of energy concentration in his claws.

With a heavy grunt, Kyran thrust his claws forward, aiming directly at the core nestled within the mutated animal's chest. As his claws connected—the concentration of energy shot forth like a bullet, surprisingly drawing blood and a roar from the mutated animal.

Quickly after, Kyran leaped back to a safe distance.

It was only then that the mutated animal's eyes turned bloodshot.

As of this moment, it realized that it was being hunted instead of being the hunter.

Entrapped from all sides, the mutated animal realized that it had regressed.

It was chosen as the Silverstar Pack's first prey after the Second Breath.
