As of earlier, the forest was entirely silent, not even the sound of whistling wind was present.
Now, the only thing that Bevryth's ears focused on was the sobs and whimpers coming from her family members being tied to the ice spikes without being able to do anything. However, she picked up another foreign sound, that seized her ears—forcing her to focus on whatever the sound was.
It was a bone-chilling, distant repetitive crackle of ice forming and breaking.
Each time it resounded, Bevryth's blood ran colder.
Moreover, it's interspersed with a hollow moan that rises and falls with a haunting rhythm.
Bevryth was rooted in her spot as she noticed as the sound got closer—the shadows around her seemed to dance and creep closer to her being as if whatever the sound came from was able to excite intangible things like shadows.
'No... This is not General Theodas' or King Jorik's' She pondered in realization.
At first, she was sure that General Theodas or King Jorik would be the one who did this.
But now she was not sure anymore.
None of the two were able to incite this kind of display, she was utterly in the wrong.
Additionally, Bevryth didn't recognize the energy surrounding her was being manipulated.
It was a tell-tale sign, that whatever the one who did this to her family members—was not a Dark Elf, but rather, something else. Only then that Bevryth's pupils dilate—recalling Naela's shout once again as her mind slowly sunk into a heavy realization.
She realized what was the purpose of Naela's visit.
"D- Don't tell me... Her coming to me was a test?" Bevryth mused in devastation.
Even though she was not close with Naela—only meeting in noble gatherings, she knew that Naela was famous for being stubborn but one of the kinder young noble Dark Elves. Because of that, she realized that Naela was genuinely trying to help her earlier.
Naela was trying to help her take care of the consequences.
Instead of cooperating or even asking her for help, Bevryth, blinded, decided to escape.
Now, the realization was a couple of minutes too late, there was no going back.
Glancing to the side, Bevryth's body trembled, "It's the Werewolf..."
As she uttered that, two pairs of azure blue eyes appeared from the darkness of the forest.
With each second passed—the entity possessing these deadly eyes was coming closer and the icy echoes that she heard repeatedly were coming from it. In her entire years of life, she never felt fear like this.
"A-Answer me," She uttered lightly, stuttering. "Are you K-Kyran...?"
Just then—a wind blew past her and the entity disappeared from her line of vision.
Before Bevryth could register what had happened, a voice seeped into her ears.
It was coming from the back.
"I believe this is the first time that we met," the voice uttered with a vibrant voice. "Please to meet you, Bevryth Aldri. I'm surprised that you know—but yes, my name is Kyran Cervantes, a Beta from the Silverstar Pack, a friend of the Dark Elf Kingdom"
Upon hearing this, Bevryth pivoted around and saw Kyran for the first time ever.
He was in his human form, but he had four azure gleaming eyes.
Not minding his manner—Kyran was now sitting on Valthor, leaning down with his cheek over the back of his hand. His lips curled devilishly—making direct eye contact with Bevryth—who was already as pale as a sheet of paper.
In a whispering voice, she asked again, "Are you a friend now...?"
At her question, Kyran smirked.
His voice then earlier changed into a cold and sinister one instantly.
"Not, not a friend today, no..."
...
Moments earlier.
Kyran and Naela went ahead and were teleported to the Dark Elf Kingdom.
It was the Orb of Life, exclusive only to the Dark Elves.
Not even putting it in his eyes, Kyran didn't hesitate to destroy it with a pinch of his claws.
He did it right in front of Dark Elf guard with no remorse.
Upon seeing his Orb of Life shattering, the Dark Elf guard's face stiffens in fragility.
"H- How could you-"
Slash!
Finding him noisy, Kyran stomped on the Dark Elf guard's throat—killing him instantly.
He didn't even show some decency to hear what the guard wanted to say.
Upon the death of the guard—the entire place was intensely silent once again, nobody dared to speak another word, or even look up to see what had happened to the screaming guard. In contempt, Kyran went to another guard nearby and stood before him.
Kyran didn't say anything, he only stood there in front of the other guard.
Realizing what Kyran wanted—the guard, quickly activated his power to clean Kyran's shoes, which were smeared with blood. But before he could do that, a cold voice intervened, "Don't, use your armor"
Stunned, the guard paused for a second before he quickly did as he was told.
He reached out to the decorative cloth of his armor and used it to clean the blood intently.
Only then that Kyran nod and sweep his gaze once more.
"I don't want to be known that I'm here, so don't announce my arrival. Go and point me in the direction of General Theodas' location—I want to speak with him" Kyran declared, his mighty voice echoing inside the place.
As he said that, one of the guards instantly stood up and escorted Kyran outside.
Meanwhile, Naela didn't instantly go after him and instead went over to the dead guard.
She checked the dead guard with a heavy heart as this was her people before her eyes were focused on the family crest—on the dead guard's right pauldron—an emblem, that Naela was able to recognize as the Aldri Family's family crest.
'He's not killing randomly... I don't know if that's better or not' Naela mused inwardly.
Realizing that Naela lifted the shattered Orb of Life and put it on the dead guard's chest.
Finishing that, she clasped her hands to pray for him before eventually leaving.
A couple of minutes later, on the other side of the Dark Elf Kingdom—General Theodas went out of a building and headed back to his house inside the Great Dark Tree—however, he was intercepted by an extremely pale guard.
He looked as if he had seen a ghost.
Upon being whispered by the guard, General Theodas' expression also paled.
"Where? Take me to him" He said before following the guard, going in the opposite direction.
General Theodas was led to an abandoned house—and after receiving a confirming nod from the guard—he stepped inside—and pushed open the door. He had been informed, that Kyran had arrived and had already killed one guard.
Kyran crushed the Orb of Life before the guard's very eyes before killing the guard.
It troubled General Theodas as this was a clear sign that Kyran was coming here for blood.
'He is definitely here for the Empress. I was hoping that Sir Flunra could prevent this situation from happening—saying that he punished us already—but it seemed too good to be true,' He mused inwardly, sweat began to drench his back.
Entering the house, he was instantly greeted by Kyran sitting gracefully on an antique chair.

Standing beside him was Naela, who seemed to be troubled.
Not even knowing why, the guard guarding the teleportation formation was killed—General Theodas instantly went to his knees. His every move needs to be calculated—as the killing intent coming from Kyran was already palpable even from the outside.
"Lord Kyran, is there anything that I can help you with?" He asked, keeping his tone mindful.
Upon hearing this, Kyran smiled, "At least one of you has manners,"
"Let's not beat around the bush—general, you know why I'm here" He continued, standing up from his chair—and standing right before General Theodas. "Some of your nobles, attempted to hurt the Empress—and one even succeeded. I'm here to exact punishment for that—grave offense. Tell me all who were involved in the attack"
"If you lie, I will know, and you won't like that I'm going to do if you dared to do that"
General Theodas gulped harshly at this.
He kept his head down, kneeling on the ground, 'I'm sorry Bevryth...'
