His body felt incredibly weak and strangely heavy, with pains radiating all over. He tried to stand but found he couldn't, so he lay where he was, attempting to look around.
His vision was extremely blurry, making it impossible to distinguish anything clearly.
As he lay there, the sounds around him began to filter in: cries, battle cries, and the unmistakable roars of beasts.
'Which goddamn place did my soul get sent to,' he groaned internally, his thoughts interrupted by a sudden yell.
"He's alive! The son of the Incubus Lord is alive! Someone call the Incubus Lord!"
"What? Are you serious?!"
"But he was confirmed dead moments ago before we were attacked by the dragons."
"I don't know how, but he's alive! Call the Incubus Lord," the first voice insisted.
"He's in the frontline. I don't have the courage to go there. Those of the dragon race are terrifying..."
Leon listened quietly. After the last voice, the talking stopped, replaced by the sound of footsteps approaching him. He felt a hand gently touch his face, followed by fingers checking the pulse on his wrist.
"He really is alive... I'll go call the Incubus Lord."
"But sire, it's dangerous. We need you at a time of war like this... Your healing capabilities would be lost if something were to happen to you after you venture to the warzone."
"Since you're all chicken-hearted, I have no choice but to go give him the news myself..." the voice reprimanded.
After this, no one else tried to convince him to stay. But one brave youngster among them volunteered to follow the healer.
The man left...
"I still can't believe that the lords' plan to create the ultimate body and weapon for us would fail so badly." Leon heard a voice say with a sigh right beside him.
"If this had been successful, we would be able to fight back against the dragons with equal ferocity."
But they could only dream...
Leon sighed softly at this point. From what he had heard so far, he understood two things: first, he was in the body of an Incubus that had failed a strange ritual or experiment meant to make him stronger.
Secondly, his race, the Incubus race, was currently at war with another race, the Dragons.
An hour later...
Multiple footsteps were heard coming closer to him, hurried and carrying a hint of urgency.
"Son?!"
A handsome, soothing, manly voice resonated, prompting Leon to turn his head in its direction, though his vision remained blurry.
The voice carried a tinge of countless emotions, affecting Leon through the remnants of the body's previous owner.
He couldn't help but sigh, disliking how these foreign emotions influenced him.
Relying on his hearing, he listened as hurried footsteps approached. He felt someone squat down and place their fingers beneath his nostrils to feel his breath.
"He really is alive..." The voice brimmed with joy.
The next second, Leon was lifted off the ground...
And the voice of his father was heard once again...
"I'll be back..."
Leon felt himself being lifted and carried away. His father's voice, low and urgent, mumbled, "Don't worry, I'll take you to the human realm. It's the only way for you to blend in and save you from discrimination."
"I have multiple benefactors, but there's only one that I can trust. I can't believe I'd ask help from a girl who I tried so hard to win over, but who never gave in to me."
Leon sighed, feeling the weight of the situation.
Suddenly, a wave of nausea hit him, and he felt an odd, twisting sensation.
'Portal?'
Yes, it was just as Leon guessed. The Incubus Lord had taken Leon directly into a portal, transporting them to a vast medieval estate. The air was different, fresher, tinged with the scent of roses and ancient stone.
An hour later...
"Miss Amelia..."
"Miss Amelia..."
A heavy wooden door creaked open, and Leon was carried inside. The scent of lavender filled the air, and the room was dimly lit by the light of a strange crystal. He felt himself being gently laid down on a plush bed.
"What happened? What are you doing here in the middle of the night, and why do you look like this? It looks like you came from a battlefield." A sensual feminine voice resounded in the place, asking Leon's father...
Leon realized it was night. Though his vision had been blurry, it hadn't looked like nighttime to him. He heard his father reply to the other voice. Sёarᴄh the ηovelFire.ηet website on Google to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.
"That's because you're right. The Incubus race is under attack by the Dragons and Minotaurs."
"Why?"
"We angered them. It's not like they haven't been looking for a chance to eradicate us for more than a century now..."
A heavy silence ensued. The feminine voice broke it. "Sorry."
"Don't think to much about it, they're just envious of our chest abilities, if not that we weren't made for battle, with our abilities handling those two race would've been easy...
Anyways, This is my son. Please look after him. Let him live with you and live like a normal human. The discrimination against Incubi will rise after this. I don't want his real identity to be revealed so that he won't have to go through the pains that the Incubi are going through these recent times."
"Okay, your secret is safe with me, and I'll make sure he's treated well. Don't worry about him, okay?"
"I won't. I trust you. And also, make sure he joins an academy. There's no better place to start his harem..."
The woman was left speechless. She sighed, thinking, 'No matter what, an Incubus will always be an Incubus...'
"I knew you'd react this way..." Leon's father laughed, his laughter dry but filled with happiness. As long as his son survived this mess, he no longer cared about anything else.
Then, he stood up from the bed where Leon lay and said, "Goodbye, Leon. Goodbye, Amelia. My race needs me. I gotta go."
Leon's father left. Amelia sighed, 'I've never thought I'd see anyone more handsome than him, but his son's handsomeness is on a whole new level...'
"I hope nothing bad happens to them."
