The whole crowd was shocked by the fact that there was actually a 1st Realm evolver to actually make his way to the Top 10.
Not only were his skills beyond his rank, but he was also extremely lucky because all his opponents had always been in the same Realm as him.
Even though the last fight took him almost half an hour to come to an end, and there were many times when people in the crowd thought that he was going to die, he still managed to win.
Even those people present that had witnessed everything with their own eyes couldn't believe that something like this was actually possible.
Most probably if they tried to retell whatever had happened at the Arena to the people that had been unable to come there, or to those that didn't come intentionally they would be taken as fools.
Tonight they had witnessed what they could call a miracle. There hadn't been any record of a Realm 1 fighter entering the Top 10 ever before.
It was a truly shocking happening!
On the other hand, Eric was dragging his feet and himself as he slowly made his way toward Young Miss Long's luxurious private box.
He needed a calm place where he could heal his 'injuries' and clear the poison from his system, and that place was supposed to be the best.
After all, no matter how much Young Miss Long wished and wanted him dead, she didn't have the guts and determination to kill him there.
She was the type of woman that would keep lying all the time until he got into his grave, but Eric didn't care about her and her thoughts at the moment.
What he cared and needed to do right now, was to have an objective look at the situation, and see if she had anything to do with his matchups and opponents.
It was clear that each and every one of his last opponents thought to kill him with everything they could.
He feared that if he were truly injured and poisoned at the time, he would truly be dead by now!
…
What he saw upon entrance though left him a bit startled and shocked, as the luxurious box was empty, and there was only one letter over the table,
"Great job partner! Continue like this to keep your promise! I am waiting for your triumph so that we can celebrate in a way befitting your achievements!"
Under the words, there was the name of Young Miss Long, Long Lian, accompanied by her signature.
In other simpler words, Young Miss Long had actually run away the moment she understood that he got into the top 10.
This behavior of hers though clearly testified to the fact that she didn't have anything to do with the rigged matchups, as Eric couldn't help but have an extremely bad feeling about this situation.
Still, there was nothing he could do at the moment, and only a fool would go and question the organizers about the matchups, so he could only sit in the lotus position and meditate.
'Coughh…, cough…'
He was doing his best to look like he was extremely injured, and poisoned at the same time, as he even coughed a few mouthfuls of blood.
It was only when he coughed the blood out, that he finally seemed to regain a bit of color and rosiness to his face, as he stood up and made his way out of the place.
No one dared to block his path as he walked down the stadium's elevators, but the moment that he reached the ground floor, and was about to leave the building, he was immediately stopped by a crowd.
A lot of people seemed willing to know him and even threw visit cards towards his head, while a large part wanted his autograph as well.
The only thing missing were the cameras, but they were easily replaced by everyone's smartphones and tablets.
But not everyone seemed to have approached him with good intentions, as amidst the crowd, a big burly guy screamed in anger,
"You bastard, I don't believe that you are that strong and that you deserve to reach the top 10! I, Mountain King Tiger, want to challenge you to a life and death fight!
Do you dare fight me, you cheating bastard!?"
Eric's face immediately went dark and ugly upon hearing those words, as he looked at the guy in front of him from head to toe.
This man looked like a mountain barbarian, not only did he have the build of one, but even his conduct and actions were like one.
Furthermore, this guy seemed like a legitimate idiot who believed what he said, which meant that he was probably incited by someone.
Eric had no problem with fighting this guy, as it would be a piece of cake for him, but now he had to act his weak and injured part, for that reason he screamed back loudly,
"Hahahahaha~! What a good tricking bastard you are! Since you are standing alive here in front of me, then either you surrendered before the fight, or you didn't participate in the least.
Either way, you are now in pristine conditions, and even your strength and inner energy are stable, yet you want to fight someone who has not only fought more than you but even gotten injured.
Your plan is quite good sneaky bastard, but why should I agree to your duel!? After all, I am just a contestant, I am not the organizer of this tournament!
So, what do you say of actually questioning the right people and stop acting so shamelessly!"
Hearing Eric's words, the whole crowd seemed to be siding with him, as whatever he said made a lot of sense.
Even if the mountain guy wanted to do something against Eric, he couldn't! That was because he carried now the participation rights for the top 10 final.
While the Arena wouldn't help him out, he now had the right to fight and kill whomever he wanted inside the Arena. In other simpler words, he now had kill immunity.
No one would question him no matter who he killed, or why he killed him! This was one of the greatest perks of being in the top 10, the guns of the future.
The mountain guy seemed to get embarrassed and ashamed about his act just now, as he had no idea how to actually get out of this mess he had created.
"Is this Master saying that you would fight the Mountain King Tiger if you were in pristine condition yourself!?"
The one who took the front and spoke this time was actually none other than Master Heartless, who was one of the undisputed top 10 Masters of this Arena tournament.
After all, he had not only one-shot killed all the lower Realm opponents, but he had even killed a Realm 4 independent Master in but three moves.
Everyone could see the extent of his means and power, as the whole crowd looked at him with fear, trepidation, and insecurity.
None of them wanted to make an enemy of Master Heartless, so even if they found this extremely weird, none of the people in the crowd dared to interfere.
Eric had felt the presence and approach of this guy right from the start, but his attention wasn't on the guy himself, but on a baldie by his side.
This guy met with Master Heartless first, discussed something, and then they came in his direction. This was Eric's possible link to his 'benefactor' of the matchups.
Still, in order to keep his act going, he immediately showed a moment of insecurity and fear, as he said,
"Yes, I did say that! But why should I fight him!? I have already won my place fair and square, I am sure that even if I accept the duel, the organizers won't accept it!"
"Mister doesn't need to worry about this matter, I am one of the delegated people from the organizers to oversee all matters and fairness of the competition.
I find the idea of such a fight rather refreshing and pleasing, so if you want to continue with this, then please do so!"
Eric had yet to close his mouth, when baldie showed a badge to the crowd, and said his lines, putting Eric with the back on the wall.
For a moment Eric had the face of a trapped mouse, but he quickly seemed to find a breakthrough, as he said,
"Thank you very much Ms. Overseer, but I don't think this is right! After all, this guy has complaints and comes and challenges me for my spot now, and later there might be someone else!
If it goes on like this, then won't you have to do your whole tournament from the beginning!?
Because even I can say that I don't agree with Master Heartless's position and would want to fight him but isn't this just foolish!?
Do I, Master Heartless, or anyone of the top 10 need to fight many more battles before we are finally accepted as top 10?
This doesn't make sense, does it!?"
The bald guy hadn't expected for Eric to quickly turn the situation around like this and put him in the spot.
From the moment he had become an overseer he had been treated with great reverence and respect wherever he went.
He only needed to show his badge, and people wouldn't dare of breathing twice in his presence, yet this brat not only didn't place himself low but even dared to question and reason back.
It seemed like he was truly tired of living, as he said in a dark and harsh voice…
