Hi, everybody. I have recently started a new novel called Strict Wife of the ’70s Manages the Household. It already has 17 chapters. You can check it out HERE.

Xu Xinduo felt that it would be wrong of her to do so, “No, wouldn’t that count as leading you on? I’m not going to do something as preposterous as that.”

“I don’t care, my name’s been through a lot anyways— there’s really not much of a difference as long as you don’t run off to find another. Don’t tolerate Liu Yating, don’t look at Yin Shaoshu and stay away from Shao Qinghe; everything else is okay to me, alright?”

“You’re trying to pursue me and yet you’re demanding so much from me?”

“Yes, I’m trying to pursue you, but you can’t keep making me jealous!”

Tong Yan was finally willing to let go of Xu Xinduo as he felt that Xu Xinduo’s feet had warmed up. Hence, he patiently helped Xu Xinduo put on her shoes.

Xu Xinduo wore her shoes before getting up to leave. Tong Yan reluctantly followed Xu Xinduo and said, “Hey, come on, take a stand.”

“What stand?” Xu Xinduo asked him.

“Just promise that you won’t make me jealous. Otherwise, I won’t limit myself either.”

“What can you do?”

“I’m already tainted, so you would have to be tainted as well.”

Xu Xinduo knew what Tong Yan’s words meant. She immediately panicked, wanting to give him a good slap in the face.

Based on his previous experiences, he knew what was coming and managed to dodge the hit. After all, he knew that when Xu Xinduo became embarrassed, her old habit of resorting to violence would kick in subconsciously.

Xu Xinduo hurriedly said, “Don’t learn stuff like that from that scoundrel Wei Lan!”

“Okay, I won’t learn anything from him, but how about learning from my dad?”

“…” Tong Yukai wasn’t as bad as Wei Lan.

When the two walked to the door of Xu Xinduo’s room, she suddenly stopped to look at Tong Yan and said, “You said you wanted to attempt pursuing me but you haven’t confessed. In fact, I was the one who said it first; how unfair!”

“Okay, I’ll confess— I like you.”

Tong Yan was smiling when he said it, expression looking slightly frivolous. His light tone of voice and the cheeky smile reflected in his gaze made Xu Xinduo feel giddy as if a bug was crawling around her heart.

Xu Xinduo looked at Tong Yan pretentiously and calmly before she said, “I don’t like them, I only like you.”

When Tong Yan heard these words, he almost laughed out loud.

Then, he heard Xu Xinduo continue, “So you don’t have to be jealous— I haven’t even accepted you, so they stand no chance at all.”

“Mmhm, I got it.”

“I have a contract now, so I can’t fall in love. During this period of time, you can also consider the possibility of us having a future together or our compatibility together. Once my contract expires, let’s see if we still want to be together. I will not lead you on and restrict you; you are free to do whatever you wish.”

Tong Yan, who stood in front of her, leaned down slightly as he said in her ear, “I don’t need to think about it— I like you and only you, so you are my future.”

Xu Xinduo tried to stay calm, but she was betrayed by her reddening earlobes.

She was particularly frustrated as she said, “I always feel like the two of us might not be fated to be together. Otherwise, why would there be so many trials and tribulations between us?”

“These kinds of small twists and turns are training me to cherish you better so it doesn’t matter to me. In fact, I think it’s better that way.”

Xu Xinduo took a quick glance at Tong Yan before she became embarrassed again. As soon as she raised her hand, Tong Yan grabbed her wrist.

Tong Yan watched her eagerly trying to beat him up with an adorable attempt of frustration,”I’ll say, can’t you fix this little habit of yours? Stop beating people up at every chance you get.”
