Tong Yan couldn’t help being curious and asked, “How did you get away after that?”
Wei Lan laughed so hard that he looked delirious,”Took them both shopping. I bought so many things to pamper their happiness and when they spent enough money, they both walked away, holding hands happily. After they went back, they never spoke to me again. I guess they blocked me, but I blocked them too.”
The start of the school day coincided with the weekend, so on March 1st, the students moved to the dormitory. On March 2nd, the cleaning activity was held and classes officially commenced on March 3rd.
Tong Yan didn’t go to the clean-up day because he had just changed classes.
Xu Xinduo has asked for an absence slip. Jia Hua International School had a bit of a habitual reaction towards the School Prodigies— if a prodigy were to ask for permission to be absent, they would automatically assume that the student definitely had a good reason behind that. Hence, the school administrators would normally approve the permit without question.
For those like Shao Qinghe, he didn’t participate in the cleaning session because of his ‘bad health’.
When classes kicked off, the atmosphere of the Advanced Class had taken on a subtle change.
Students of the present times were usually assigned to a scheduled class system(1). Hence, they don’t spend much time in class together and the concept of classmates was much lighter and less friendly.
(T/N: Either this meant that the students had elective classes they could choose from, or there were time batches that separated the class, like morning or night sessions etc. Author didn’t specify so that’s the best I could do)
In the Advanced Class however, most of the students’ learning progress were about the same and they spent more time in class together. But everyone was still a competitor. The last few placings in the class were always unstable as well, which kept the relationships between the classmates strictly general at most.
In International Class 4, many students have known each other since kindergarten. They were a group of childhood sweethearts, so they would naturally have a good relationship.
When he arrived in the Advanced Class, it felt like a group of First Year high school students living together and the atmosphere definitely felt different. In the eyes of the students of the Advanced Class, the classroom was just a place where they would temporarily study.
Tong Yan realised that fact after he entered the class and sat down.
But it’s good that way; he wasn’t intending to form any sort of friendship with this group of students either.
The students in the Advanced Class were not used to Tong Yan’s presence in their class.
Previously, Xu Xinduo had already changed the entire atmosphere of the class; and now, there was Tong Yan.
It felt like a a murderous gray wolf appeared in the last row of the once happy-go-lucky village that herded a group of idle sheep.
There was a red wolf in the front row and a grey wolf in the back row, causing the group of sheep to shiver.
Tong Yan was very calm while he was here. In comparison, Xu Xinduo was not very calm at all. She supported her chin and listened to the class for a while, slightly worried that Tong Yan would not be able to keep up with the progress.
Advanced Classes generally start to make crazy progress in the second year of high school. By the third year of high school, there was no new content to learn as the material would be revised throughout the entire year. The momentum of the Advanced Class this year seemed to want to be finished two or three months ahead of schedule, too.
They have already started to boost the progress last semester. Due to the speed being very fast, the students with poor academic abilities couldn’t really keep up with the rest of the Advanced Class.
