Xu Xinduo continued to shake her head, “No, if she really believed it, she would divorce my father according to her temper instead of having so many years of conflict with one another. Either she didn’t care about you that much or she never fell for your lie at all.”

Qiao Nian was slightly startled after hearing this as he laughed at himself.

Xu Xinduo continued, “And my parents are not in a bad relationship, they just have a very special way of getting along. I heard that my father was very clingy in the early years and was dumped once, so he changed his approach and gave her enough personal space. In the end, this is merely a flirtation technique between the two of them, but in the media’s eyes, this was a discord between husband and wife. Wouldn’t the media enjoy the news of an unfortunate marriage of a woman who was married into a wealthy family?”

Qiao Nian looked at Xu Xinduo and said nothing.

Xu Xinduo tilted her neck and pointed to the tattoo on her neck, “You are just an insignificant dog to our family and the only memento about you is this scar. Seeing it, I get a little angry, but there’s nothing beyond that. The only one getting hung up about this entire incident all along, was none other than you.”

If she hadn’t lived with Yin Hua for a while, Xu Xinduo might not have had the confidence to say these words.

After hearing about these constant gossips, Xu Xinduo took her time to observe the interaction between Yin Hua and Tong Yukai. She then realised that these two did not have a bad relationship, but instead, got along very well. The two of them were often misunderstood as their ways of expressing affection for each other were not easily comprehended by the public.

After asking the opinions of the servants that worked in their residences, Xu Xinduo could finally confirm that Tong Yukai wanted nothing more than to move his mansion over to be Yin Hua’s neighbour. If he just attached a small corridor between the two mansions, he would be able to go over there at any given time of the day.

Qiao Nian lowered his eyes and finally said in a low voice, “I love her so much that I’m going crazy.”

“But you do not deserve her.”

“That’s right, I don’t deserve her,” Qiao Nian glanced at Xu Xinduo again before he said, “I’m very sorry, but I’ve been tormented all these years by this train of thought.”

“I’m not obligated to forgive you just because you gave me an apology.”

“You’re right, but I’m just saying that anyways. I’ll take my leave, see you next time.”

Qiao Nian got up and left as he re-entered the elevator. When he approached Tong Yan, he had walked in a dashing manner. However, he resembled a defeated soldier when he was walking away.

Xu Xinduo just watched indifferently as she continued to sit on the chair and wait.

About ten minutes later, Tong Yan finally replied to his message: [The interview is done, this Lord has gotten the part for you. Oh gosh, I’m so awesome.]

She typed and asked: [What was the last round of tests about?]

Tong Yan didn’t reply but he walked out of the elevator with Li Liya’s editor-in-chief ten minutes later. He then glanced at her and waved.

She understood immediately and took the initiative to walk over to greet Li Liya’s editor-in-chief.

Li Liya’s editor-in-chief immediately asked in surprise, “Yin Hua’s son? Why are you here?”

“Oh, my classmate was getting interviewed here, so I came over because we planned to return to school together.”

Li Liya’s editor-in-chief quickly understood and said, “Then you two should hurry back to school. I’ll discuss the contract details with little Zhang here.”
