Chapter 690.
“Hmm? Davey?”
Eclipse smiled at Davey as she tilted her head side to side.
“Wow! You’re amazing!”
With a radiant smile, she began to jump, seemingly amazed by how Davey had recovered from the injuries he had incurred earlier.
But right then and there, Eclipse accelerated at once, hurtling straight toward Davey.
“Play tag with Eclipse again!”
Bang!!
She was moving through space at a speed that was too fast for the human eye to keep up with. But she wasn't going as fast as she had before. Her hand, which was reaching for Davey's abdomen, released a formless white energy.
"Hmm?”
But there was an unexpected resistance, causing her innocent purple eyes to widen. Eclipse could normally break through the resistance of the curse of Versha—a power possessed by the Princess of the Abyss it was named after—along with other countless powers, including the interference power of a demigod. She could even overcome Davey’s Power of Taboo with her strength..
But things were no longer the same. Davey had broken through her formless barrier, causing the space to rip apart and ultimately sending her hurtling skyward.
"Alright, I got through.”
The principle behind how Davey managed to hit Eclipse was similar to dealing damage to a monster with 100 defense points by using an attack with 101 points. A defense of 100 points would only cancel out an attack of the same points, and so the monster would incur no damage at all. Of course, Davey knew he wasn’t dealing with some trivial difference of one hundred and one hundred and one.
His unexpected attack caused her to crash deeply in the middle of the sandy desert. Yôur favorite stories at novelhall.com
Eclipse, despite her innocent and adorable appearance, was significantly more powerful and dangerous than any enemy Davey had dealt with in the past.
Davey watched her squirm while he panted and muttered, “Phew... Nice one.[1]"
Feeling the divine power of Goddess Freyja, Davey then clenched his hand, which was enveloped in a white formless energy.
After seeing her get catapulted, Davey realized that his attack would be enough to deal her some serious damage. But he also knew that with just this magnitude of damage, defeating her would be far from easy. He also knew he had to be careful when channeling too much of his power in case he had to fight the other side of Neltarid that had occupied Earth.
“Sob... Sob... Davey hit Eclipse... Hit Eclipse!”
She squirmed out of the sand as if nothing happened and started crying.
Davey found it hard to believe that Eclipse had emerged unscathed. Normally, a single hit using the divine power was enough to kill a Princess of the Abyss. Before he knew it, she was already crying so hard that she had begun to beat the ground. She seemed to have forgotten how she had hit, grabbed, and spun Davey around, and even used her power to push him down.
Eclipse’s personality was quite twisted by nature. She was anything but innocent or naive, as she was someone who would make people's limbs pop just because they wouldn't play with her. She was the very definition of danger.
But none of this mattered.
“Davey is bad! Bad!!!"
Eventually, Eclipse got back to her feet and screamed, her hands clasped and her eyes closed. Then a formless energy burst toward Davey, as though something had exploded.
"What the hell!!"
Davey watched her as he instinctively stood back up immediately. Then a light beam shot out of Eclipse, striking the area between the two of them before it proceeded to soar, destroying everything in its wake. What was more shocking was the fact that all of this happened from a sudden attack.
“Each one of her attacks is almost like a natural disaster...”
As he gazed at the endless desert, Davey couldn’t help but wonder if there was any normal place in this damn Alf Online, where the Malicious Spirits that had rebelled against one of Neltarid’s sides—harmony—were imprisoned.
Though he knew it wouldn't be as easy as said, Davey secretly hoped that if it was possible, Eclipse’s power would blow the Malicious Spirits away.
Mustering his strength so he could keep his balance and not slip, Davey squinted to see the power rushing straight toward the top of her head.
“Isn’t that... I’m pretty sure that’s a black hole...”
A black hole was indiscriminately swallowing everything in its vicinity. It defied and bent the laws of nature, nullifying light, time, space, mana, atmosphere, and even gravity. The huge energy vortex, which had a mass that was equal to the sun's, was condensed into a small space. And it was the flow of light and mana surrounding it that allowed Davey to see this immense sphere of energy that was absorbing everything.
"Wait a second... That’s not just sucking everything in...”
“Yeah. I somehow managed to throw that damn little kid in Alf Online and get away.”
Davey heaved a breath, then frowned at the two other women before him.
“Why are you two here again?”
“Do you really have to ask? What will Ja-Seong and Ji-Hee do if you die? You can’t die before I even get the chance to see them.”
“I have similar reasons too. If you die now, I’ll be in trouble too.”
Verdandi, a Princess of the Abyss, was holding a large magic book in her arms. And then there was Isildi, who was also a Princess of the Abyss but had lost half of her power. Still, she remained far stronger than a typical Princess of the Abyss.
“Why are you here again?” Davey asked.
“Do you really think we can get our hands on blood like yours anywhere else? You changed someone's cup of tea, so you must take full responsibility for the rest of your life. I can’t even stand the smell of anyone else’s blood because it’s so fishy now.”
‘Seems like someone’s gotten picky.’
Davey narrowed his eyes.
Josiah Frances came shortly after and gave him a hug. Although he knew she wasn’t in love with him, he still felt like she was worried in her own way.
Until he began to feel a tingling sensation in his arm.
“Hey! Let go!”
“Mmph! Mmmph!”
With an extremely tight grip, Josiah was sucking blood from Davey's arm, seemingly unwilling to let go. He tried to shake her off but he eventually gave in.
Isildi and Verdandi were staring at him in silence.
Finally, he said to Kain, “Kain, there's a big problem happening on Earth. Find out the situation and report back.”
Davey then realized that Hydro was missing when he shouldn’t be. Well, it was more accurate to say that the Lord of Geas between the two of them was severed. Although he knew that Hydro wasn’t dead, Davey felt as if something big had happened.
“I have checked already,” Kain muttered quietly while frowning. “I’ll be honest with you. The Malicious Spirits have escaped. And to keep the balance of the Earth, Lord Neltarid rescued the Alf Online users first.”
“Explain it in easy words.”
"On the day that you went on a rampage against the Malicious Spirit, the other half of Lord Neltarid awakened, and the laws that had been keeping transcendental forces from emerging broke down. All this time, Lord Neltarid was sealing their other side, but because they tried to help you, they destroyed it.”
‘So he’s saying that it’s my fault.’ Davey grumbled silently.
“As a result, their destructive side awakened and summoned all of the remaining Malicious Spirits to Earth. Can I be really honest with you?” Kain let out a heavy sigh before continuing to say, “Strange phenomena are occurring simultaneously on Earth right now, and they're causing hundreds of millions of people to die, even when I strengthen the Earthlings and summon avatars from Alf Online."
After learning everything that had happened from Kain, Davey thought that although the Malicious Spirits had escaped, it was still quite fortunate that Eclipse had not reached Earth and was currently imprisoned in the world of Alf Online.
Davey realized at this point that he had to either block the abyss or kill every single one of the Malicious Spirits before Eclipse could escape and put an end to Neltarid’s destructive side.
“It’s all over... There’s nothing we can do now. I heard about what happened—the Abyss got their hands on the Absolute Gem. It is only a matter of time until we are pushed further and further into a corner. We have lost the means to stop them.”
At Kain’s words, Davey took out the green jasper jewel from his pocket and showed it to him, asking, “Are you talking about this?”
“Huh? Where did you get that?”
Kain looked at Davey in surprise, and the others stared in astonishment at the power they felt radiating from the jasper jewel.
“I picked it up somewhere.[3]”

At the same time, somewhere else in the world, an urgent report from the Lyndis Empire arrived at the Heins Territory. Princess Aeria was on the brink of death after suddenly collapsing from vaginal bleeding, and Emperor Deorte had sent the urgent message, pleading for Davey to come and save his daughter.
