Chapter 708

Chapter 708

Even if the world fell apart tomorrow, peace would last until then as long as the people remained unaware. Even if the world ended up being destroyed, new life would arise as long as there were survivors..

After returning to Hyun-Ah’s house, Davey handed Meses’s rag to Maga and Cat Tower. So his attention shifted to the red marble dropped by Meses, which held the power of Shadow Predation.

Davey’s hobby, which had reached the epitome of blowing money on things people would never do, stirred quite a bit of public opinion. On Earth, public sentiment towards him was quite negative, which made sense. After all, he was blamed for the destruction of Alf Online, which would have helped them save their lives..

"Excuse me. Are you listening to me? Do you know that people from overseas are currently using any means necessary to establish a connection with you through Sacred Group?”

“Wait, what does Sacred Group exactly do?” Davey asked.

“The group is currently acting as an agent for the production of various materials and weapons since we have the technological capabilities to do so. We are also moving goods on behalf of the Korean government,” she explained.

Instead of saying anything to answer Hyun-Ah, Davey clicked his tongue. Her explanation had left him astonished.

"Uh... Prince Davey, what’s the matter?” Aeriaasked.

"Nothing... It's no big deal.”

But Davey actually thought this situation was absurd. Stroking Aeria's head and ears, he noticed her turquoise hair and long fox ears fluttering as she looked up at him with a pleased expression. But his mind couldn’t stop wondering about the kind of business plan Hyun-Ah’s uncle had to create such a massive company.

"If you don’t mind me asking... Who is this person?” Hyun-Ah asked, looking at Aeria.

“My soon-to-be,” Davey replied.

"Pardon?”

“Wife.”

Hyun-Ah then looked back and forth between Davey and Aeria, before erupting into a prolonged, “Oh!”

It seemed like she realized that, other than being married to Perserque, Davey was also engaged to someone else.

“Oh my, you're so cute... I... I believe I'm older, right?” Hyun-Ah stammered.

"Yes? Ah... Yes.” Aeria then stood up and greeted Hyun-Ah gracefully according to royal etiquette, saying, “My name is Aeria El Lyndis. I've heard a lot about you from Davey.”

“Why would such a beautiful and elegant princess like you want to marry such a fool?” Hyun-Ah muttered.

Her remark caused Aeria to blush and wriggle her fingers. “Oh... Not at all. Davey is a really warm and wonderful person.”

Seeing her squirm, Hyun-Ah sighed, then redirected her attention back to Davey, saying, "So? What’s up with the huge ship? The current government is too cautious to ask you directly, so they’re just pestering the group. Are you aware?”

“Why would I be?” Davey answered.

“You should! Who wouldn’t be nervous when a weapon of that size suddenly appears out of thin air!” Hyun-Ah exclaimed.

Davey thought it made sense that there would be countries interested in his ship. After all, it was pretty effective in terms of dealing with monsters. But unfortunately for them, it would take more than just a couple of materials to make an attack system similar to his. In fact, Airship Asgard not only used void energy as its primary reactor, but it was also preparing to use the mana fusion stone he brought from Rinne’s underground ruins. And so his ship would be one of a kind, at least on Earth.

“Ignore them. I’ll take care of it myself. I have no intention of getting involved with people who are trying to leech off me,” Davey said.

“Is that so? What if this becomes a diplomatic issue?” Hyun-Ah asked in concern.

“Let them figure it out,” Davey replied nonchalantly, thinking that it was none of his business. He then grabbed Aeria’s hand and said, “Perseque, I’ll take you to the place I promised you before.”

"Oh, Davey. I’ve been waiting for this,” Perseque admitted. She then pressed some buttons on her tablet, shrunk her body, and followed along.

"Uh, are you going somewhere?” Aeria asked.

“A great place to spend some time. Since we’re here, I’ll take you on a tour of Earth.”

"Ah... are you sure? If you're busy...”

“No, this is what I was going to do on Earth. So don’t say no and just follow me.”

Aeria smiled faintly in response.

"Wait! Where exactly are you going?” Hyun-Ah asked.

“The amusement park. There’s one here in Daegu, right?”

But Davey couldn’t remember if it was called E World or D World. He did remember that it used to be called something else.

“Are they still operating?” Davey asked.

“Even if the world ends tomorrow, people still need something to do. In fact, the government is trying to calm people’s worries by keeping some of the places like that open.”

“Alright then.”

Davey couldn't care less if the world's attention was focused on Asgard or if the schemes of the Malicious Spirits had tarnished his image. He knew that right now was the time to wait, and it was up to him how he was going to spend his time waiting.

“You're going now, of all times? Hyun-Ah asked.

It was only natural for them to stiffen up since a black, devil-like, blurry figure had appeared out of nowhere, wrapping its arms around their necks and emitting icy-cold energy. This was enough to scare them, even though it was just a simple hallucination.

“And if you want to impersonate Koreans, at least change your tone. It’s obvious,” Davey said.

“...”

“Did you really think I wouldn’t notice it because I’m from another world?” Davey asked as he turned his gaze away to show that he no longer had anything else to say.

But the men in black suits had already disappeared after realizing Davey had seen right through them.

They tried to disguise themselves, but unfortunately for them, Davey had lived in Korea in his past life. That was why he was very sensitive to the unique accent that non-Koreans had when they spoke Korean. And even after a thousand years, his perfect memory ability, which was the foundation of his talent, was still holding on to his memories of Earth. This ability explained Davey’s present identity.

At that moment, Davey got a text message from Hyun-Ah, reminding him that his efforts to spend time in the amusement park were not in vain.

[I heard from Ji-Ah that your stories, photos, and videos are circulating on the Internet right now.]

‘Good, cause I did that on purpose.’

Click, click.

Davey tapped on the smartphone Hyun-Ah gave him.

[So? How’s everyone reacting?]

Davey could anticipate what the public was thinking, but he decided to ask out of courtesy.

[Did you already expect this to happen when you decided to go out? This fundamentally changes the way people see you. People on the Internet said that they're quite surprised by what they're seeing about you now, after considering you as some sort of ghost or monster all this time. Some say that you're a madman who is crazy about destruction. There are also others who say you're an invader without mercy. But right now, it seems like they see a disparity between the way you’ve been showing yourself and the way you were giving a gift to the child at the amusement park.]

[The human perspective is fundamentally shallow.]

Just as she said, when Davey surfed through the Internet, he saw many tags saying that his actions were unexpected.

They didn't even know much about Davey to begin with. They only knew him from the image the Malicious Spirit manipulated through the press and from Seo Ho-Jin’s propaganda against him. He knew that the reputation that followed him would be a significant hindrance to his future work.

He even felt the impact of his negative reputation firsthand in the looks that people were giving him when he took Aeria to the amusement park to show her Earth. He could tell by the way they looked at him that they were questioning his presence in the place. But since he had played his cards now and the mysteries about him seemed to have cleared up, he knew that the situation would resolve itself. And now, the only thing left to do was...

Davey took out the item box that the Malicious Spirit Meses had dropped. He then slowly put his hand on top of it.

“They said there were conditions for opening it,” Davey murmured.

He initially didn’t know what those conditions were. It wasn't until later that he finally realized what they were.

Davey then placed his smartphone on the stand and activated its function, exactly as Hyun-Ah had requested.

"Uh, Prince Davey? What does that happen to do?" Aeria asked.

"Huh? Oh, nothing. It’s just... Through this device, countless people in this dimension can now see us and the view,” Davey explained.

Aeria, who had been relaxed while looking at the scenery, suddenly stiffened. "Ah... Well... I'm not ready yet..."

"Ready for what? You’re already part of the view. Okay, just stand here without doing anything.”

He then turned to the camera and made his opening statement.

“Nice to meet you all.” With a gentle smile, he placed a box with a black question mark in front of the camera. “I’m not sure if we have any people watching, but I just couldn’t help but livestream so I could share something as fun as this with everyone."

He then tapped the box a couple of times. “What is this, you ask? Well, I’m sure everyone knows. It’s the material I got after beating up the Malicious Spirit.”

Davey had a hunch that everything else that the Malicious Spirits dropped seemed like some type of material, but the box in front of him didn’t seem like it was.

Right then and there, a chat message popped up on one side of his smartphone.

[This somehow feels like a random box gacha stream.]

Someone had mustered up the courage to comment. While there was at least someone who was watching, Davey was hoping for more people.

"That's right, it’s gacha, a random box. I don't know what might pop out of this. It could be nothing, or it could be something crazy. It all depends on what god intended,” Davey said with a chuckle.

“I’m going to open this box now. There are two conditions to open this box. One is the number of monsters killed. As you know, I’ve taken care of quite a number of monsters attacking Daegu with my airship and sent them to God. So, I’m pretty stacked up.”

In other words, Davey was saying that he could open the box multiple times. Perserque had also confirmed it wasn’t just a consumable item.

“So we’re going to open them publicly. No tricks. I know everyone’s going to like that. And so... I’ll open all of them in ten minutes. So I ask more people to join and watch me open them.”

A random box dropped by the Malicious Spirit, who was nothing short of a disaster for humanity, was captivating enough to grab the public’s attention. After his explanation of what he was doing, an unprecedented situation occurred—the stream server blew up.

“Hmm... Should I cut off anyone whose IP addresses from overseas?” Davey muttered.

There was also a second condition for opening the box. However, there was no need for such a large crowd.
