Chapter 840

The Heavenly Demon’s Card Album.

Each card held a unique power. Its source lay in embodying the power of the soul and giving it form. The card Davey handed to Ellaim was called [Causal Fiction], which manipulated the flow and outcome.

“It was a godsend that I absorbed Verdandi’s power.”

Since Davey hadn't made the power of the Heavenly Demon fully his yet, using it would’ve normally caused him to go mad, akin to the power of taboo. However, since he had linked it to Verndandi’s power, the problem resolved itself naturally. And due to this reason, it became apparent that her power stemmed from her soul.

The reason Davey gave that card to Ellaim was simple: reverse summoning.

“Davey? What are you doing?” Perserque asked.

“I didn’t know Illyna and Aeria were here too.”

The three women stared at Davey, who was laughing heartily, with confused expressions.

“I’ll take you to some amazing place.”

‘A place that humans can’t normally go—no, somewhere humans could never go.’

Zap!!

A massive rift opened in front of Davey. He stepped through without hesitation.

Typically, when an elementalist contracted with a spirit, it operated under the law of cause and effect. But Verdandi’s distortion of reality, combined with the Causal Fiction made with the Heavenly Demon’s Card Album, allowed that law to be reversed.

This wasn’t about summoning a spirit; the spirit would be the one summoning a human.

Engulfed in a radiant light, Davey appeared before many astonished spirits, including Ellaim. He stood tall and confidently exclaimed.

“Need some backup?”

[What... What in the world...?]

‘Who said there was a rule that humans couldn’t be summoned by spirits?’

* * *

Davey found himself surrounded by a vast number of spirits. Among them was Gnoass the earth giant and Ifrit the pyromaniac fireball. He also spotted the treacherous Dodo, the Wind Spirit King.

And then—

[Human?! How did a human get here?]

[And there are four of them?!]

He also saw other spirits besides the ones he had made contracts with, all of them visibly shocked. While Davey kept his focus on Ellaim, Perserque, and Illyna, Aeria instead curiously glanced around at the sights.

They were in the middle of an enormous garden filled with vibrant blooms, with paths of earth and water complementing the blue sky. It was a landscape straight out of a fairytale.

“I’m Davey O’Rowane. I was summoned at your call.”

Ellaim looked bewildered at his serious tone.

[No way...]

“Will you make a contract with me?”

At his question, Ellaim made a shocked face.

[Oh my... Slaimmy! What in the world...?]

[Don’t call me Slaimmy! How on earth did a human end up in the Spirit World?]

“Well, since you summoned me, it’s only natural that I would come. So, how about it—will you make a contract or not?”

The spirits began to murmur, confused by his words. Despite their immense power as Spirit Kings, incomparable to those of middle earth, they appeared rather flustered.

“The Spirit World? Davey, what did you do this time?”

“It’s no big deal. I just gave her a card.”

“A card?”

“A Heavenly Demon’s card.”

Perserque and Illyna nodded as if they understood. He knew they must’ve already known about the Heavenly Demon. Aeria, on the other hand, seemed unfamiliar with it.

“Well, what will it be? Are you making a contract or not?”

- Grrr!!!

Boom!!

Ellaim sighed at his audacity, staying silent. She then widened her eyes.

[Everyone, step back!!]

Splash!!

Suddenly, streams of water surged over from all directions, and Davey stopped the massive fist coming his way mid-swing. However, Ellaim, unable to block it completely, was pushed back with a grimace.

“What’s going on?” Davey asked.

[That...]

The contract process finally came to an end with a flash of intense light.

Considering Indra was the one to summon Davey, he figured it’d be difficult for him to exercise his full power. But perhaps because of his divinity, he had fewer restrictions on his power than expected.

After all, there was a difference in level between this Spirit King and him—greater than that between an ordinary elementalist and a Spirit King. To put it simply, it had been a long time since he had surpassed the level of the Spirit King.

"Okay. What do you wish for, dear contractor?”

[P-Please stop the Primordial Spirit!]

Davey nodded quietly toward her, someone who was yelling like an innocent child.

Then, advancing alongside Slaimmy, he drew out his strength and moved toward the enormous earth giant that was in the way.

The Primordial Spirits were the source of the power that spirits possessed. In other words, they were a natural god. If nature itself was the Spirit King, then the Primordial Spirits were like the atoms that made up such nature.

Of course, they weren’t beings with true divinity, but they were in fact the oldest and most sacred beings in the Spirit World.

Davey thought it was obvious why they were on such a rampage.

[Ha! What can a mere human do to the Primordial Spirit that not even a Spirit King can do anything about?]

[You’re in the way! Get lost!]

The other Spirit Kings were angry, but they were soon sent flying back by the attack of the Primordial Spirit that had once again gone berserk.

The Primordial Spirits seemed like a giant made of clay at first glance, but they were more like the atoms of nature—a trait that made them invincible to elemental magic. Their mind was also not a unified will, making systematic mental erosion impossible.

Although they were incredibly strong beings, at least they weren’t an existence that couldn’t be touched.

Swoosh!! Thud!!

As Davey slowly walked forward, a Spirit King obstructed his path and used their body to block the Primordial Spirit's attack, roughly pushing him to the side before screaming.

[Get lost!! I can't afford to fight while also protecting people like you!]

‘Alright, now they’re just getting annoying...’

Crack!!

Then the Primordial Spirit grabbed the Spirit King, who had blocked their attack intended for Davey, and twisted their body.

[Kaaa!!!]

The Spirit King screamed in pain and struggled, but the Primordial Spirit fixed the Spirit King's form with an iron grip as if it was planning to crush them.

[Ahhh... Nooo!]

As the other Spirit Kings shouted in panic, Perserque, who was looking around, called him over.

“Davey.”

"Hmm?”

“I think you need to help them out first.”

"Yeah.”

[Human!! I told you to get lost...]

In response to the Spirit King's rage, Davey simply pushed them away with his hand.

[Uh... Huh?]

As a Spirit King, humans couldn’t touch their immaterial form. Knowing as much, when Davey casually plucked them out and pushed them away, they were taken aback.

The Primordial Spirit had already thrown many high-ranking spirits and Spirit Kings, making them fly helplessly.

“Get out of the way, idiots.”

Davey smiled brightly, provoking them for good measure, and stretched out his hand toward the Primordial Spirit.

Slash!!

A blue flash flitted in an instant, and the arm of the giant Primordial Spirit that had been grabbing and twisting the Spirit King flew through the air.

“I have a suggestion.”

They tried to regenerate their arm, yet it wasn’t working for some reason. As the Primordial Spirit stumbled and hesitated, he looked back at them and said while holding down Blue Ribbon that was radiating blue blade energy.

“Let me meet the Time Spirit.”

The Spirit Kings made a shocked face at his words.

[How... How does a human know about the Time Spirit...?]

‘I’m mentioning the Time Spirit cause I know the Time Spirit, duh.’

Davey had already encountered a major problem with the Moon Project. Therefore, he absolutely needed the power of the Time Spirit.
