Chapter 1-9 : Which I Will Start From? (part 2)
The next day.
I woke up a little later than usual and heard some noises from the front of my house.
「Mmmhh~~~ Hm? So loud…..」
I slept quite late last night, so I’m still kinda sleepy now.
At first, I planned to just make potions, but my plan was ruined when I realized I didn’t have enough potion bottles to store the potions.
Well, if I didn’t have the bottles, I had no choice but to make them, right?
And to make it, I had to set the fire in the glass furnace, right?
And once I set up the fire and melted the glass, I couldn’t stop.
I kept making the bottles, cooled them, poured the potion inside, and then sealed them.
I repeated the process until dawn.
Thanks to that, now I have a lot of potions to sell.
「A, aahhmm~~~ Mmm… Maybe I should get up now…」
I got up from my bed and looked outside from the window.
There were several men outside the house.
…..Ah, come to think of it, Geberg-san said he would start making fences today.
As expected from Geberg-san, he starts work so early.
Building materials have already begun to piled up in front of the house.
I have to get outside and say hello at least.
I tried my best to move my tired body, dressed up, washed my face, and went outside.
「Good morning, Geberg-san.」(Sarasa)
「Yo. Good morning, ojou-chan. Did you clean your yard yesterday? It’s cleaner now.」(Geberg)
Geberg-san looked at the yard that had been changed from a “terrible” to “not so well maintained” yard.
「Yes, I worked hard yesterday.」(Sarasa)
「So that’s why you look so tired now?」(Geberg)
「Ah, you can tell I’m tired? Well, that’s one of the causes」(Sarasa)
I had washed my face, but it seems the tiredness still showed on my face.
Well, rather than tiredness, it was more like sleep deprivation.
「And, umm… Geberg-san, who are these men?」(Sarasa)
「These are the village men. I usually call them when I’m doing a big construction job. I don’t think there will be a problem but, if there’s a guy who dares mess you, tell me. I’ll teach him a lesson.」(Geberg)
Saying that, Geberg-san shook a big hammer in his right hand effortlessly.
I wonder how he will ‘teach a lesson’ with a hammer…
I felt like the faces of some of the men turned pale. Especially the younger ones.
I approached those men and greeted them.
「Good morning, everyone. I’m Sarasa, an alchemist who just moved here the other day. I’ll be counting on all of you today.」(Sarasa)
I bowed down as I greeted them.
And then, everyone kindly greeted me back, but…
I’m sorry, I can’t remember so many names…
「You don’t have to remember all of these guys’ names now. If you’re going to cook your own food from now on, you’ll remember them eventually.」(Geberg)
I see.
Apparently, carpentry was just their temporary job while their main job was farming.
So, I would meet them again soon when I needed vegetables and other food ingredients.
Ah, talking about farmers, I asked Ells-san to introduce me to the farmers the other day.
So that means, I will meet them again very soon.
Un. Let’s do my best to remember their names.
「Well then, can we start working now?」(Geberg)
「Yes, please. Oh, right. I planted herbs in the backyard, so please be careful there.」(Sarasa)
Since I did my best digging and replanting them yesterday, it would be sad if they stepped on them without knowing.
「Don’t worry. I’m a professional, and these guys are farmers, so we know. Alright then, let’s get started guys!」(Geberg)
「「「Ouー!」」」
The men replied to Geberg-san’s command with a rousing shout, and then they started to work.
They removed the old fences while Geberg-san was checking the outer walls and the signboard.
「Umm. Is there anything I can do to help?」(Sarasa)
「Nah. As long as you don’t have any troublesome requests, you can leave everything to us.」(Geberg)
「I see. Alright then. I’ll leave it to you.」(Sarasa)
I left everything to them.
Besides, I didn’t want to interfere with their work by asking too much.
And above all, I’m very sleepy right now…
I decided to return to my room and enjoy the second nap for a while.
