Chapter 88: Progress

SPLASH!

Shun got into the bathtub, finally relaxing his muscles. During these months, bath time had become sacred for Shun, as it was one of the few times when he wasn't exerting himself physically or mentally.

The boy then began to think about the progress he had made in recent months and the difficult missions he had completed.

[Training Center Unlock Mission

Rewards: Unlock all functions of the Training Center, Improve Batting statistic by 3 grades, 1 silver arena pass, and an S- grade Stamina elixir.

Failure Penalty: Lose the Training Center forever, all user statistics decrease by 3 grades.]

The first mission he completed was the Training Center mission, which not only gave him unlimited access to all the Training Center functions but also greatly improved his batting and stamina.

Thanks to the improvement in his batting score, Shun finally managed to complete his first Arena mission.

[Contact Hitter (Bronze)

Get 10 hits in arena games (10/10)

Rewards: 100 coins, 1 silver arena pass, and a random grade B elixir.]

With one more silver arena pass, he had accumulated three of them. But he hadn't played that tournament even once yet. Also, the most important part of this reward for Shun was the random grade B elixir. Luckily, the boy obtained a Body Balance elixir, fulfilling the final requirement to pitch with his perfect form.

[#1 Perfect Form

Master the perfect pitching form for the user.

Requirements to complete the mission: pitch using the form without any mistakes 500 times. (500/500)

Rewards: qualification to learn the legendary pitch and quirk Injury-free.]

Shun finally completed this mission, and his greatest reward for it was being able to pitch again. By completing the mission, he was finally able to learn his legendary pitch, the slider. Additionally, he also gained a very useful quirk.

[Injury-free

Decreases the chances of the user getting injured while playing baseball to almost zero.]

Shun didn't quite understand how this worked, but he knew from the description that it was very useful. There were numerous cases where injuries ruined careers. But, of course, this quirk didn't make Shun immortal or anything like that.

According to the old man, this quirk reduced the chances of Shun getting injured in common plays. However, he could still get injured in extreme situations, such as falling on his arm or being hit by a ball. In these situations, even though this quirk would lessen the damage, he would probably still get injured.

The old man told Shun this so the boy wouldn't go around thinking he was Superman, making reckless plays.

After that, Shun completed two more arena missions in succession, further improving his skills as a batter.
