Chapter 137: Back to the Place where He grew up.

Chapter 137

Yu Na didn't understand, and looked back following his gaze—

She blushed a little: "Jerk!"

"Mm." Xiao Chen didn't care what she said, and even casually dropped a sentence: "Fortunately the box isn't closed yet."

After putting the small packaging box in, Xiao Chen thought, I'll close the box tomorrow.

It was only halfway through senior year three, but Yu Na was really tired, and didn't sleep much at all.

In the past when she couldn't sleep, she would pester the exhausted Xiao Chen to chat with her, watch movies with her, and give him a hard time.

But now, as soon as she lay in his arms, she would get sleepy, and fall deeply asleep after barely saying a couple of words.

Xiao Chen lay on his side, carefully studying the sleeping face in his arms.

Her long eyelashes fluttered occasionally, her shallow breathing, her soft hair covering her weary expression.

Seeing her gaunt little face made his heart twitch.

Xiao Chen sent Grandpa two WeChat messages—

【Yu Na has lost so much weight recently, I buy her good food every day, but no matter how I feed her she doesn't gain weight】

【I'm so heartbroken [crying emoji][crying emoji][crying emoji]】

Grandpa quickly sent back a voice message, but the voice was Grandma's.

"Don't cry, Grandma will go with Grandpa early tomorrow morning to buy groceries. You two will be here for the next few days, Grandma will make delicious food for Yu Na every day, don't cry dear."

Another voice message was sent, this time Grandpa's.

"I set an alarm, will go buy groceries first thing tomorrow morning, don't cry child."

He had only sent three default crying emojis, but the elderly couple really thought he was crying.

Xiao Chen sent back an okay, afraid to send more crying emojis in case Grandpa and Grandma would directly call him.

......

Xiao Chen was afraid it would be too rushed, so he bought tickets close to noon, just so Yu Na could sleep until she naturally woke up.

However, she just couldn't seem to wake up.

After Xiao Chen finished making breakfast, he went back to the bedroom and saw the person on the bed had wrapped herself up tightly, looking half awake and half asleep.

"Tsk," he laughed at this sight, "Dreaming with your eyes open?"

"So cold..." She shrank further into the quilt.

Xiao Chen picked her up, wrapped her in the blanket, her whole body curled up like a cocoon in his arms.

The temperature in Changwan recently dropped below 10°F, and she was so cold she almost suffocated.

But Xiao Chen was obviously already used to this kind of weather, plus he exercised frequently, and wasn't cold at all.

He put breakfast on a tray, carried it back to the bedroom, and placed it on the small round table. Then he moved the small round table to the front of Yu Na's bed.

Grandpa and Grandma said they wanted to come to the airport to pick them up, but Xiao Chen didn't let them come.

Yu Na had taken a nap on the plane, and was woken up afterwards, originally feeling groggy, but the moment she walked out of the airport, her whole body shivered uncontrollably.

She stuffed both hands in the pockets of her down jacket, even her teeth were chattering, "So cold."

Xiao Chen helped zip her down jacket all the way up to the top, also adjusted her hat, then flicked her nose, "See, was I right?"

After getting in the car, Yu Na curiously squeezed his clothes to check the thickness: "How do you look like you're not cold at all?"

"I got used to it long ago," Xiao Chen and Yu Na looked like they were two different species, he put his arm around her shoulders, "Don't worry, it's not cold at Grandma's house."

The driver was a local through and through, seeing this, he enthusiastically spoke up: "Young man, bringing your girlfriend back home for New Year?"

Xiao Chen: "Yes."

But after he said it, he felt something wasn't quite right, and corrected: "Bringing my wife back home for New Year."

Yu Na couldn't help but laugh, her small hand secretly slipped into his warm palm.

Xiao Chen noticed, held her hand, and tucked it into his own pocket.

The driver said: "It's going to snow heavily tonight here."

Yu Na didn't say anything, sat in the car looking at the scenery outside the window.

This was a slow-paced city.

Delicate small buildings full of design sense, tidy and neat, the streets weren't very wide, quite a few traces of exotic style.

The sky was clear bright blue, without a cloud, warm sunshine spilled down.

Pedestrians had a leisurely air, strolling unhurriedly on the streets in groups of three or two.

Yu Na suddenly had the illusion that time itself had slowed down.

Xiao Chen said his dad wanted to buy Grandpa and Grandma a nice new house, but they were unwilling, said they were used to the one they lived in, too lazy to move, and the neighbors around all knew each other, the relationships were good too, they could get together every day to play chess and cards, chat, dance and so on.

Moving to a high-end small district would be boring instead, and lack human touch. The old couple complained no one would talk with them, felt lonely.

Hearing this, Xiao's Father didn't say anything more, could only occasionally buy them some things.

But after every purchase, he would also get a scolding, told that the house already had everything, they were just wasting money.

Yu Na leaned against his shoulder, laughing nonstop, "Does your family temperament come from Grandpa?"

Xiao Chen frowned, repeating sarcastically: "Mm, our family."

Yu Na stuck out her tongue: "Oops, forgot again."

Xiao Chen: "Very good, next time you'll forget your husband's name too, just thinking about it is thrilling."

Yu Na hugged his arm, coquettishly swaying back and forth, "How could I forget that? How did you learn to be sarcastic too."

Xiao Chen: "Hmph."

Yu Na moved close to his ear, using a volume only the two of them could hear, "Let me kiss you tonight okay?"
