"That is a very odd request, Lady Edna," Rosette said, noticing how strangely shy and anxious the woman was acting.
What exactly was going on here?
"I only want you to remind him of me," the healer said. "Tell him that I am waiting."
Rosette arched a brow, Misty placed a finger on her chin. "Why would he want to be reminded of you? What are you waiting for?"
Misty humphed, then looked at the healer with a question in her eyes. "Lady Edna, is there something going between you and the Son of Starlight?"n/ô/vel/b//jn dot c//om
Edna's eyes widened and she shot her head up at the two sisters. "No! No! Not at all. Perhaps I phrased it wrongly. I meant his medicine. He must be reminded to take it everyday so that he can make a full recovery."
Rosette and Misty looked at each other, half-convinced but still suspicious. "I see. Give it to us then and we'd make sure to give it to him."
"No, dear Daughters. I must administer it myself. Only my [Heal] Skill can work with the medicine to completely cure him from the Pegasus horn's poison. I'm the only one who can... give him what he needs."
Her eyes were pleading and she still had the cherry cheeks as she looked at them.
Rosette decided not to think any more of it. "Okay. Whatever. We will let him know when we find him. You should keep your eyes open as well and notify us if he comes here. Let's go, Misty."
Misty, on the other hand, stared at Lady Edna, curious about the words she had spoken. What exactly did she mean by give him what he needs? What kind of medicine was she administering to her brother?
Lady Edna caught her stare and they both exchanged a look of some kind of hidden understanding, like they both knew what she actually meant by those words.
"Misty!" Rosette called. "What are you doing? Let's go!"
Misty gave Edna a final apologetic look before following her sister, and they both mounted their beasts once more, the crowd parting as they rode away.
She began to wonder if it was time to offer that loyalty to the other.
Suddenly, Rosette's eyes gleamed with a sudden, dangerous idea. She looked down at her Owlbear, a cunning smile tugging at the corners of her mouth. "I have an idea."
"Huh?" Misty raised her brows.
"Let's take this up a notch, shall we?" She murmured to her Beast Companion, reaching down to lay a hand on its powerful back.
The Owlbear shifted, its ears pricking up as if understanding her intention. Rosette closed her eyes, her mind linking with her Beast's.
She concentrated, her Divinity flowing into the creature, merging with its natural abilities. "Tactical Mode. Search Ability."
The Owlbear's eyes glowed a deep, haunting red, and it let out a low, rumbling growl as it began to scan a vast area of the realm. From the growl, waves of red energy expanded, reaching the depths of the Starlight Region which they were now in.
Misty watched, her expression one of mingled awe and apprehension. "What... what are you doing?"
"Extending our reach," Rosette replied with a smooth tone. "My Owlbear can sense other Beast Companions within a wide range... if Aeric's Silverwolf is anywhere near, we'll know soon enough."
The Owlbear continued to growl, the sound deepening as it concentrated, scanning the vast Starlight Region. After a moment, it paused, ears twitching as if filtering through countless faint signals, searching for the distinct Divinity signature of Aeric's Silverwolf.
"There are ten Beast Companions presently in the area." Rosette's eyes gleamed with a fierce intensity. "Narrow it down. Find only the Silverwolf."
The Owlbear growled again, its gaze sharpening as it honed in on a single point, and then it let out a soft, triumphant snarl, its body tense and ready.
"It's found him." Rosette's smile was cold, edged with satisfaction. But then her smile disappeared as she saw where the Silverwolf was on her interface.
"What is it doing there? What are you up to, dear brother?"
