Chapter 28 - Hatsune’s Salty Response
It’s been about two days since that incident from Hatsune. Yesterday ended without much of a hitch and today is just another day in the life of a normal person. I just woke up, so I’m on the bed.
And I know, there’s Hatsune beside me anyway—–
“…Huh?”
Ha, Hatsune is not here!? She was here yesterday…Wh, what’s going on!? Did Hatsune finally understand that such things must be done after the proper steps are made? If so, that’s fine, but…. I’m getting antsy.
I headed for the washroom, feeling a little itchy. Hatsune was there, too.
“Oh, Hatsune, good morning.”
“….good morning.”
She said in a small voice, and she quickly walked away. …Huh? Is there something wrong?
Even after that…
“Hatsune! Food—-”
“I made some leftovers, why don’t you eat them?”
And after that…
“Hatsune! This laundry…”
“Put it in the basket.”
…Something’s wrong. Did I do something to make her hate me? No, but I thought she was normal yesterday. Then why did she suddenly become like this? I didn’t really hear anything special yesterday…
So is it because of that pheromone incident two days ago? No! No matter how much I think about it, I can’t figure it out. Let’s ask Hatsune.
“Ha, Hatsune…? Did I do something?”
“—! N, Nothing?”
After saying that much, she walked away with a somewhat happy face this time. What did I really do to make her so happy to get away from me? I don’t think I forced Hatsune that night…. No, if that’s the case there should have been a change yesterday. I’m sure I didn’t do anything wrong.
Well, let’s just go to school. I’ll try to talk to her on the way there.
“Ha, Hatsune—-”
Whenever I call out to her on the way to school, she walks a little faster. I’ve never seen her do anything like this before. Even when we were dating before, she never avoided me like this. What’s really going on?
And lunch break…
“Hatsune—–”
“I have some student council work to do.”
I, is this the kind of salty attitude you hear about? I thought it was something I’d never have to deal with, but I never thought I’d feel this way….
“What’s wrong with that girl?”
Tsukiai called out to me.
“No, I don’t really know. I didn’t do anything in particular, but she suddenly started being salty…”
“Hmm.”
“Could I talk with you about it?”
“Eh, with me?”
“I mean, who else would it be but you.”
Or rather, I don’t have that option. The only new friend I’ve made since moving to this school is Tsukiai.
“O, okay, so can we go to my favorite coffee shop?”
“Y, yeah.”
You go to a coffee shop.. Well, that’s just how I imagined it. Well, that’s what I call a ramble.
And finally, after school, Tsukiai and I went to her favorite coffee shop. It was located relatively close to the school. We sat down together, ordered a cup of tea and decided to discuss.
“Is there anything you can tell me from a girl’s point of view?”
“What makes you think I have that perspective?”
“Sorry, I’ll change the question.”
That’s right, she has never been in love….maybe. I don’t know if it’s too much to ask her for love advice…Then.
“So, let’s talk about light novels?”
“Same as usual?
“A, haha”
After an hour of chatting at the coffee shop, we decided to go home. This is the first time since I moved here that I’m not going to school with Hatsune. I felt uncomfortable.
I arrived at the front of the house, feeling a bit fidgety.
Gatagata
“Huh?”
The door was unlocked, but for some reason it wouldn’t open. Is it locked from the inside? Let’s ring the bell and ask Hatsune to open the door. I rang the bell and then I heard Hatsune’s voice coming from there.
“So-kun…Welcome back.”
“Ah, I’m back, the doors closed, can you open it for me?”
I said in a gentle tone, trying not to offend Hatsune as much as possible. But…
“….Why?”
Hatsune’s salty attitude was getting worse.
