"Sir, Claire's brother has been hospitalized," Deo narrated.

Claire.

It's the chapel woman's name.

Deo has gotten most information about her; her family, background, age, name, and everything I wanted to know about. While I couldn't see her, Deo acted as my eyes.

"And she was absolutely worried about it. I saw her crying," he continued.

"I had the chance yesterday to speak with the nun she usually talks to."

"Do something about it. Help her in any way you could," I ordered.

Her problems felt like my problems and I didn't want to see her devastated.

"Yes sir."

I hung up the call just as Sya went in to give me a tray of food. I hadn't eaten since I fainted but I didn't really have the appetite.

"I'm sure you'd say you weren't hungry but at least eat anything," she said as she placed both hands on her hips.

"Eriez want me to return back to the kitchen with the plates emptied. I'll be staying here until you eat everything I gave you."

"I'm not hungry," I grunted at the unappealing sight of vegetables and some more food I didn't know what were called as. Sya didn't budge and stood still in front of me.

Bugged by her presence as minutes went on, I forced myself to eat and forked at the raw veggies.

Fuck, all of this made me sicker.

It took me at least an hour to finish the meal and tried so hard not to vomit. Day one and I'm already annoyed with my condition. Before she left, I asked for the draperies to be pulled back down and wallowed once more in the darkness of my room.

Fuck.

(CLAIRE)

"Amy!"

I called out angrily as my sister passed me by like I'm some fencepost by the sidewalk.

It was midnight and she'd just leisurely came home as if unbothered to be seen and be gossiped about.

"What?" She gave me a snide look.

"Where did you go? Didn't you know there are so many rumors about you spreading around?"

"Believe it or not, I didn't go to that place," she replied passively and locked herself in our shared room.

Because I no longer go to work, I had to bear everyday all the burdensome behaviors of my family.

"Did you see Dexter?" I asked her behind the door.

"I didn't. Don't try to disturb me anymore!"

I felt restless since the morning I woke up and until now I couldn't sleep. Nadine and Dexter still haven't come home while Ma said she'll be going somewhere. Thank God Amy went home.

I sat outside the door while I tried to ease my chest from the queasiness I am feeling.

Amid the quietness, Amy hurriedly went out the room and sprinted towards the toilet to vomit. It was profuse and loud.

Is she drunk again?
