I moved her body gently against the cushioned back seat so she could rest properly. The night was already deep and both of us needed some sleep. I looked around at the unfamiliar street and spotted a hotel by the distance.  

I went in alone and left her in the car until I secured the hotel room was safe. She was gradually waking up when I returned.  

"Hush. Get off the car," I reached for her hand as she went out.  

"Where are we?"  

"A hotel," I pointed my thumb to the white building.

An unspoken doubt registered through her face. I could clearly read her expression.

"Don't ever think I'd do something to you," I raised my brows.

"I don't know this place and since it is this late, we should at least sleep comfortably tonight."

Her eyes looked confused so before she could ask more questions, I dragged her with me. Her heels clanked noisily as she staggered with my long strides. I took it off her feet and threw it away.

"Why did you do that?" she complained as her bare feet touched the cold ground.

"Let's go. No more mumblings."

She just stood still.

"Don't want to walk?" I crossed my arms.

She didn't answer so I lifted her up instead.

"Hey put me down. I can walk!" she complained again.

I put her down and grabbed her hand.

"Follow me."

Hotel guests at the lobby looked at us, particularly at her, when we passed by. Her clothing was just too short to not catch any unwanted attention.

"Next time don't wear something like that," I teased then went straight to the room's own toilet to wash my face.  

She was still standing before the door when I returned.

"Don't want to go inside?"

I closed the door to tease her again but opened it once more.

"C'mon in."

I didn't wait for her to come in and let my body fall on the soft bed.  

"I'll sleep ahead," I said as I closed my eyes.

My body felt heavy and little streaks of pain coursed through my back. That day has been too exhausting but thankfully, sleep visited me fast.
