Chapter 75 - Chapter 74

((( ZHIO )))

I woke up strictly to the time my body was used to. Eight in the morning.

My head still throbbed and my body hasn't recovered from exhaustion yet.

I turned around to get the phone by the side table and looked at Claire, who was still asleep, before I dialed.

"Good morning. Zel Cantheliz Corporation. How may I help you?"

"Code 007," I answered impatiently, "Transfer the call to Deo."

"Just a second."

Deo boomed cheerfully after the brief beeping sound.

"Sir…"

"Get me some clothes to wear to the Vill-A-Mos Hotel."

"Yes sir," he replied before I hung up the call.

My gaze returned to Claire and I couldn't help but sigh at the sight of her, at how she was sleeping unladylike.

But who knows how ladies sleep?

After all, it has been the first time I'd ever slept in a room with anyone.

(DEO)

Code 007…

Meant one thing for sure, Zhio has left his phone somewhere else or he's in a hitch again and needed some rescue. And this time, he wanted some change of clothing.

I was walking through the hallway to his suite when my phone suddenly rang. It was Attorney. I was his go-to whenever Zhio does not come home.

"Deo," he started immediately after I picked up the call.

"Did Zhio have an emergency flight?"

"No sir," I was anxious.

I am not Zhio's valet but his welfare was something I'm sharing responsibility for. To a personal level, Wenziel and Eriez trusted me more than anyone else outside the Zel Cantheliz household. But at the moment, all I knew was Zhio's whereabouts and nothing more. Vill-A-Mos Hotel, a small lodging that was thirty minutes far outside the city.

"But he's safe."

Why would he come to an unfamiliar place as such?

"Are you with him? "He breathed heavily.

"That brat didn't go home last night."

"No sir. But he called," I replied fast.

"He seems alive and didn't say anything about trouble."

"Did he say where he was?"

Protocol 01. Think accordingly but still say no…

"No sir," I lied.

Wenziel mumbled in the other line and grunted before he hung up the call.

And that's what my job was…be in the know for everything that's happening around like a freaking journalist.

"Sir Deo," somebody tapped me in the shoulder.

"Here are the files you requested."

"Thanks," I nodded and resumed my pace to Zhio's suite.

That, however, was the privilege I have compared to anybody around me. I have eyes everywhere and marionette strings to properly control everything I was asked to.
