Chapter 140 - Chapter 139

((( CLAIRE )))

Somebody tapped my shoulder and whispered coldly.

"I expect you to defeat me tomorrow or else…"

I gave him a sharp gaze.

He smiled and...

Smack!

"Zhiooooo!"

"Bye." He laughed.

That bastard kissed me again on the lips. I'd never let him win.

I focused back on Ley's tutorial until my head hurt. We've gone on few real matches, all of which she's won.

But bingo, I've won a game from my past sets of defeat. I jumped around in happiness when I've checkmated her. She was just so good at it.

"Good," she smiled.

I was finally learning something.

I just realized the time when Zhio came back. Outside, the sun was setting already in orange pools of skylight and the rest of it was a purplish darkness.

"That's everything for today," Ley gathered back the chess pieces to the box.

"Thank you," I hugged her tight before turning to Zhio.

"And you! I'm gonna win tomorrow!"

He just removed his wool coat and smirked at me.

Ley has left.

"Have you eaten?" he sat next to me.

"Have you?"

"I'm asking you," his brows lowered.

I shook my head.

He just tsk-ed at me.

As if reading his mind, several maids went in to deliver our food.

"There's something we have to talk about," he stood up and left for the walk-in closet.

His face was laden by worries again.

I sat by the table and waited for him. He came out dressed in nightclothes and an effortless handsomeness.

"You've been smiling for a while now," he placed his hands at the side of his hips, "You're thinking about something again, aren't you?"

"Not," I widened my nose.

Denying something obvious, huh?

I blessed our food and ate before he could then we're back again in eerie silence. I hoped it wouldn't lead to another argument and exchange of pointless yelling. I'm sick of it.

"So what do we need to talk about?" I forked some mushrooms.

"Don't overreact and yell so you'd understand well what I'm gonna say. I really need you to do something…"

He looked at me seriously.

"What is it?" I'm worried about what he has to say.

"About that thing you wanted to do so much," he crossed his arms.

"Going home?"

"Visit," he corrected me.

"You're gonna visit your house for a day."

"Once? But…"

"Use that one chance to say goodbye to your family. On one condition though. Is that good with you?"

"Before I answer that, there's something I'd like to ask."

"Sure, spill it."

"Why do you want me to stay here?"

"You sure you want to know?" he smiled emotionlessly.
