I woke up breathless yet again.

My chest was constricting and I couldn't breathe well.

I sat up and saw Zhio sleeping beside me. I didn't want to wake him up and worry him further. I breathed in and out until my ventilation was fine.

I got back down and stared at him.  

He must've had went home untimely because of me. It felt bizarre but I had this constant urge to seek for his attention.

Yes. His attention…

The next morning, he was gone when I woke up. I tried to get up but was pushed back to bed by dizziness and an unwarranted exhaustion.

"Good morning Miss Claire." Sya opened the doors to the terrace.

"Likewise," I smiled, "Where's Zhio?"

"Oh, that kid left in a hurry," she answered, "He must have had an emergency meeting or something."

Right! So why was I looking for him?

I tried to restrain myself from beseeching his presence too much but I was jealous. I envied that he was dedicating his time more on work than on me.

"I'll just go down and take your breakfast."

"No please," I smiled coyly, "I'll go downstairs with you. Let's all eat together."

Sya raised her brows, "You'll get used to eating with us too often."

"I don't mind. It's better than eating alone."

When we reached the dining area, Zhio's foster fathers were on their seats at the end of the long kitchen table.

"Eat with us," Dr. Eriez invited when he saw me.

"Go on dear," Sya whispered at me.

Truth was, I've never met them too often since I set foot inside the mansion. Much less dine with them.  

I sat in front the attorney and took a fair share of breakfast on my plate.

"Good morning," Atty. Wenziel greeted.  

Their stares made me uncomfortable.

I just nodded in response.

"How's your pregnancy?"

"It's going well," I raked my fork over the bacon. I don't really have the appetite.

"Was your nausea gone? Do you still feel dizzy?"

I chewed the lean meat and tried to reply but felt the need to vomit.

Sya looked at me worriedly.

"Excuse me," I stood up instantly and held my throat's contents as much as I could.

I look the lavatory on the ground floor and vomited gravely on the sink.
