Chapter 62 - Cheese, To Like or Not To Like

Lu Jie arrived escorted by Gao Rou and Wu Meiwan did not spare a minute longer to approach him.

"Grandpa Lu, how are you?" She said while giving him a hug.

Wu Meiwan took Lu Jie by the arm and headed her way to the Lus before brushing off Gao Rou. "I can take Grandpa Lu, Gao Rou. You can go back to your post."

"Meiwan, you are just going to humiliate yourself." Gao Rou said as he went back to check on the rest of the arrivals.

She frowned hearing this but ignored his warning.

"Dear child. I am sorry to hear about what had happened. I tried to talk Lu Fang out of it but I don't know. The boy is very stubborn."

"Grandfather Lu, please talk to Lu Fang again, maybe he will reconsider. Also, what about our engagement I thought that you liked me for a granddaughter?"

The old man could only sigh in dismay. He could not explain to her that Lu Wei and Christina are already on Andrea's side. So he could only encourage her to do better. "You will have to try harder to win Lu Fang's heart. He is old enough to decide for himself, I cannot persuade him."

When Lu Fang saw who was approaching their table, he knew she was up to no good and went to sit beside Andrea.

"Auntie, Uncle, good evening. It's nice to see you again." The woman hugged both Mr. and Mrs. Lu.

She then began to talk to them about her last visit to their home and how she wanted to go back and make pastries with Christina. The talk went on and one as she tried to prove she had a better connection with the Lu Family. Mrs. Lu, on the other hand, was getting confused as to why they were walking down memory lane.

Meanwhile, the couple did not mind her at all and were simply engrossed with each other.

Seeing how unaffected they were, Wu Meiwan became flustered and went to Lu Fang's side hoping to make a conversation.

"Brother Fang, you are so handsome today. I haven't seen this suit on you before, these must be new?"

Lu Fang: Crickets ***

'Duh!' Andrea thought.

While they did a good job ignoring her, food was being served at each table and when Andrea saw the mozzarella-tomato salad, she could not help but get excited. She loved cheese.

"Wow, babe. I love cheese, let me get you some." Andrea took a pair of the mozzarella-tomato salad and offered it to Lu Fang.

"Oh, Brother Fang doesn't like cheese! Haha! He vomits at the sight of cheese!" She desperately tried to join the conversation, but to her surprise, the man opened his mouth and chew on the salad.

"Hmmm… Thanks, babe. You are great!" His face had no hint of disgust, seemingly enjoying the food.

Christina giggled at his son's action. She knew, he absolutely hated cheese, even just the smell of it, he would pretend to be nauseous.

"I'll stock the whole pantry for you with all sorts of cheese!"

Christina, "…"

Lu Jie, "Haha! Boy… you sure are a changed man!"

Lu Wei just shook his head. He recalls having vomit on his suit when Lu Fang was still a child after trying out a cheesecake.

"No, Andrea, you shouldn't, Brother Fang will get sick eating all those cheese, isn't that right, Auntie?" Wu Meiwan tried desperately to involve his mother in the conversation but Christina was still utterly stunned and was not able to react.

Lu Fang reached out to his father's plate taking his share of the salad and asked Andrea for more, "Feed me some more, babe."

Andrea happily obliged, seeing the excitement on his face. She was pleased that her man shared her love for cheese.

Wu Meiwan was starting to panic seeing that Lu Fang's parents were already looking at her so she tried harder to get his attention and squeezed his arm lightly. "Brother Fang, you don't like cheese at all. I remember perfectly!"

Lu Fang looked down at his arm as if nobody was there and continued to savor his salad.

"What's wrong?" Andrea asked.

"Nothing, babe. I thought I felt something in my arm. It was probably just a pest."

Andrea's brows drew closer and said, "Ohhh… tsk, tsk… we can't have those."

Wu Meiwan could no longer hold herself that she raised her voice loud enough for other guests to hear. "Lu Fang! Are you ignoring me? Why are you ignoring me?"

The man finally turned his head towards her direction and smiled before saying, "Finally, Meiwan, you have come to realize. Congratulation! After years of ignoring you, you have now become wise."

He then took her hand and shook it while giving her a pat on the back. He turned to find Go Bolin and signaled him to start before turning to his father, "Dad, let's start. Everyone is here."

The man knew that Wu Meiwan might do something stupid that he continued to put his arm around Andrea while the emcee started with the welcome remarks. The night went on and Lu Wei went up to give his speech thanking all employees and business partners for the past years. When it was time to introduce Lu Fang, Wu Meiwan was still at their table staring daggers at Andrea. He felt he had no choice and decided to bring his babe on the state with him.

Andrea tried to stop him from taking her with him but he would not listen and reasoned, "I don't trust her. She could easily throw a single glass of wine on you and that is more than enough to ruin my night… Oh, and by the way, you are going to get punished for feeding me all of those cheese!"

"You said you liked cheese!"

"No, I only like the one who fed me cheese. I still don't like cheese!"
