"Freeze! Put your hands where we can see them!"
"Identify yourself!"
Two of the soldiers who were assigned from the inside of the mansion immediately blocked Lu Fang's view and insisted that he go back to study with them.
"Wait, who is outside?" Lu Fang asked.
"We don't know yet Mr. Lu. We are confirming with our comrades from the gate." One of the soldiers said while the other walked behind them talking on the radio.
Outside the mansion, a girl in a leather jacket and denim jeans was raising her hands while nodding approvingly to the swift movements of the men in front of her.
"Miss, please identify yourself."
The girl's face frowned while her eyes gestured to shut from the direct light flashed towards her. "Ammm… Seriously? I just passed the guardhouse and rode an airport taxi. Do you really think I mean harm?"
She started to walk towards the gate when some of the soldiers unlocked their pistol. She realized they were serious about securing the owner of the house so she cleared her throat to answer, "Andrea Li?"
They stared at her with no response whatsoever. They did not seem to know who she was.
"Friend of General Lei."
"Girlfriend of Lu Fang."
"Lover?"
"Future wife?"
It did not take long for Lu Fang to come out of the mansion and clear her name. "It's aright men, this is Andy, my girlfriend."
"We are sorry Miss." The men said almost in unison.
Instantly, the soldiers put down their weapons and stood stiff like a stick paving way for her to enter.
"At ease boys. You did a good job." She said while heading straight to her man, allowing herself to faint. The familiar scent made her fall asleep in seconds.
The man let out a sigh as he held the girl who came crashing into his arms and carried her towards the house. 'She looked dog tired.' He did not even get the chance to scold her for not being in touch. Still, the relief that he felt was incomparable. For him, it has been the worst 2 days of his life. He was beyond grateful for her return.
He laid her in bed and changed her clothes before getting a damp towel to wipe her skin. He checked her carefully and saw no alarming injuries aside from a bruise on the knee and a dressing on her arm. He kissed her knee gently as he put her legs in place before going back to the toilet and grab some bandages. The agony on his face became noticeable seeing the wound as he opened the dressing to clean it.
Lu Fang have not had a proper sleep these days but he could not ignore to take care of Andrea. When he was done, he kissed her cheeks and hugged her by the waist, before finally giving in to his exhaustion.
Outside the mansion, Kim Ha-joon watched as the lights were turned off in one of the rooms. He had successfully followed Andrea back to Beijing without being noticed.
After making sure that Xio Hanxi survived the operation, Andrea had prepared to leave. She had even managed to catch Hanxi in a conscious state giving her the impression that she could go without worry. So the moment she stepped out of Yeong's base, Kim Ha-joon had already been tailing her.
Earlier, seeing five armed soldiers point a gun at her, he was about to intercept and eliminate them when he realized Andrea did not show any hint of worry. When the turn of events unfolded before him, he reported back to Yeong.
"Yeong, she's safe. Looks like they are living together."
"Continue to monitor her, Ha-joon. Make sure she is not doing anything reckless."
Andrea woke up with heavy eyes, seemingly unwilling to open. However, she was reminded that her foster father was arriving in the city anytime soon. She needed to wake herself and pick him up at the airport that afternoon.
She turned to face Lu Fang and smiled at the breathtaking sight before her. When she touched his face something caught her attention that she could not help but sit up and scream.
"Oh my god! Oh my god… Oh… my… god!"
The man woke up in panic hearing her screaming. "Babe, what's wrong?"
Andrea was speechless and gave several sign languages to express her thoughts but he could decipher what she was saying at all.
"Andy! What's wrong?"
"Babe?"
She then pinched her cheeks to make sure she was not dreaming and only then was she brought back to her senses. She gasped before attempting to question the man.
"Lu Fang?"
"Andy?"
The suspense was already killing him that his heart was beating faster. He tried one more time and asked, "Babe?"
Andrea gulped and finally spoke, "Lu Fang…There is foreign object on my finger."
"Ahhhhh…." The man fell back to the bed and laughed at her reaction.
"Lu Fang?"
He was still laughing.
"Lu Fang, there's a big rock on my finger…"
"Babe, come here... What's so surprising about having a ring on your finger?"
She frowned and said, "… but I deserve a better proposal."
"What do you mean? You propose to me first, remember? You did not even give me a ring!"
Andrea giggled at how she had brought up marriage a few days back and said, "I said that on the spur of the moment!"
Lu Fang's eyes narrowed at her response and retorted, "Oh yeah? Well, I was not thinking straight when I put it on your finger last night. Why don't you give it back?"
He quickly tried to grab on to her hands but she curved into a ball hiding her hand in the process then protested, "No way! You can't take it back. It looks good on my finger!"
He started to tickle her and they ended up practically wrestling with each other until they were both panting.
"I had planned something special but you ruined it going to Korea." He explained.
She pouted her lips hearing this and held the man's face to apologize. "I'll make it up to you. How about next weekend?"
"Promise?"
"I promise, babe."
She pursed her lips before smiling, looking at the diamond ring on her finger and demanded, "But I want another ring next weekend."
He looked at her and just smiled approvingly. "Okay, babe."
"I want a green sapphire engagement ring!"
"Anything you want, babe."
She grinned hearing his acknowledgement then went on saying, "You better prepare to get down on your knees."
"Are you kidding me? I love going down on you!"
Andrea,"!!!"
