Chapter 102 - What’s Mine is Yours and Yours is Mine

Christina Lu almost choked at her food hearing this.

Gao Rou, on the other hand, had it too late. He was already coughing, having gagged at the news. He then recalled how Hanxi had told him that Andrea was loaded.

"Of course, I have a Maldivian partner. You cannot own an island here under a foreign name."

There was silence in the air. Christina has still not yet recovered from the blow and beside her, she could see the man's poker face. He barely even looked at her after the announcement.

"Explain." Lu Fang requested.

She held him by the hand before narrating everything, "my foster parents brought me to this country when I was a teenager and I instantly fell in love with the Maldives."

"We visited, I think two more times after that and since then, I swore to buy an island of my own and turn it into a resort just the way I wanted it."

"Because my adoptive family was able to provide me with everything that I needed, I saved up ninety percent of my earnings. I took a loan and bought my first island shortly after graduating from college. This resort was the very first island that I bought – "

"Andy, does that mean, you worked your way through college?"

"Woah, Andrea, so your foster father is rich?"

Christina and Gao Rou asked at the same time.

She turned to Lu Fang's mother, worried about having to tell her that she used to be a hired assassin. "My dad… my foster father was in this unique kind of business. I worked for him for some time and it pays a lot… really a lot." She then answered Gao Rou, "Yes, sort of. They are rich."

Mrs. Lu was listening attentively to how Andrea became adopted to a wealthy family in Europe and that was how she ended up studying in a prestigious school.

"Who are your foster family, Andy? We should meet your father." Suggested Mrs. Lu.

"Mom, I already met Mr. Davies. He is a very nice man and approves of our relationship, you need not worry." Lu Fang said.

Christina's face paled. "Did you say, Davies?"

"Yes, mom." Andrea acknowledged, finally calling Mrs. Lu, mom, "my dad is Alfred Davies and my foster mother is Nancy Davies."

Christina finally realized how Andrea had grown up into wealth. Buying an island in the Maldives is within the capacity of any Davies. However, what concerned her most is the fact that Lu Fang had already met Alfred. "Son, how did your conversation with Andy's father go? Have you mentioned us to him?"

"It went really well, mom… and yes, we had already talked about you and dad… I have even shown him our family picture. He looks forward to meeting you."

The rest of the conversation in the table became a gray to Christina Lu. All that she was thinking at that very moment, was the fact that Alfred had already found her and having accepted Lu Fang, could it mean, the Davies were willing to take her back?

It did not take long for their conversation to be interrupted when one of the hotel staff came up to them. "Ms. Li, the buggy is already ready. Your meeting with the GMs is about to start."

On the way to the meeting, the couple was driven by a buggy to the SEAs, a specialty restaurant built on top of the water. Even before leaving Beijing, Andrea had already decided to involve Lu Fang in her investments. The Maldives resorts were her biggest assets and she would be visiting more often. She intends to bring him every time.

The man was in deep thought during the entire ride. Although he was proud to find out that his woman was successful in business, he had several questions that remained unanswered. However, since they were off to a meeting, he could only bring it up afterward.

"Gentlemen, good morning." Andrea greeted the executives in the restaurant. "I'm sorry to call for this emergency meeting. I was around so I needed to take the opportunity… I'd like everyone to meet, Lu Fang, my better half. He will be joining me on our quarterly meetings moving forward."

Lu Fang, 'Hmmm…The better half.' The man could not be more proud of being recognized as her husband.

The General Managers and Marketing Directors greeted and congratulated them both before settling down to begin the meeting. Their assembly continued until half-past twelve and they ended it with lunch. It was then when Lu Fang had an opportunity to ask Andrea. "Babe, why did you have to apply and be part of my security team? You did not need the money."

"Well, if I did not apply to be your personal bodyguard, we would not have met?" She tried to change the topic.

"Hmmm… that's not the point -"

"I know. I know. I told you before, it's because I fear my enemies would come after me one day. I needed to maintain my skills… Plus, I could not get it out of my system. I was born to be a fighting machine. I literally need a regular shooting spree. If not during missions, I go to a firing range."

"Babe, will you stop accepting missions now that we are together? We can practice shooting together."

Andrea paused for a second before responding, "I don't intend to anymore... Not unless it involves you or our family… So you are not upset that I am rich?"

The man chuckled and said, "No, I love it. Though I am worried that you may be richer than me, but that does not matter. What's mine is yours and yours is mine."

"Yes, babe. That's right. You actually own 30% of the Andres Islands." She said as she kissed the man's cheek. "Here you go." She handed him the transfer of shares which was already under his name.

"What? When did this happen?" He was utterly surprised to see the transfer document which was signed by him, already legalized.

"Last week, you were signing anything I gave you so I inserted this… You just signed it without reading… I bet you'll sign just about anything I hand to you… I'm going to abuse you."

"No problem babe, make sure to prepare a marriage certificate next time."
