Chapter 145 - Smell of Blood

Driving the other car, Andrea arrived shortly after Lu Fang. The last round of bullets startled her that she stepped on the gas hoping to get there sooner. Her husband said he would call if it was all right for her to follow, but she was stubborn. She did not like the idea of her man going into the unknown by himself.

When she saw Lu Fang helping out Yeong with one of the soldiers, she was relieved at the same time, she felt sorry for the fellow who was down. Yeong was already administering first aid on the gunshot wound and he took the opportunity to teach the man how to do it.

"Lu Fang, you may have attended first aid classes or training, but nothing beats the actual life and death situation. You must make it a habit to carry medical supplies with you at all times. you must learn to tend to yourself, your wife or any member of your family who gets wounded or injured."

"Yes, brother."

True enough, he had the knowledge but since he never went on missions together with Lu Wei's men; Lu Fang had done no actual first aid treatment. In Gabriel's Den, he was always guarded and if any of their men got wounded, someone else took care of it.

"I'll go check on Han-joon and Hanxi," said Andrea.

The two other soldiers were helping them with their injuries. Han-joon had a broken hand. Her brother had a cut on his. She pouted her lips seeing this and gave Hanxi a hug.

"I don't get it," Hanxi complained. "How come you and Yeong always barely gets a scratch?"

She laughed at the question and reminded him how she had trained since she could remember. "I think I started practicing when I was three years old. I already played with knives when I was six and held a gun for the first time when I was twelve years old."

"It's not that you aren't any better, bro. Me and Yeong, we started a little early. That's all… Plus… remember, we have a magic potion!"

The two had referred to her unusual inheritance as "Magic Potion" since she came clean with Hanxi.

Her brother looked past her in Lu Fang's direction and asked, "Does he know?"

"Everything. I told him everything." she smiled as she told Hanxi.

Gao Rou came up to them and expressed with regret, "two men got away on a motorbike."

"Which one?"

"One was a bald Caucasian. The other was wearing a helmet driving a motorbike."

"I have a tracker on the bald guy, Gao Rou. Do you mind following up with General Lei on this? His men can help find him. Let's hope he goes to Rou Yanlin after this."

"Definitely!"

By and by, selected police officers and secret agents came to make the arrest. The men who Andrea had shot earlier tried to escape, but they did not go far considering the loss of blood and difficulty to even stand.

The medical team also arrived together and aided the wounded. The solder, in particular, was given priority.

The smell of blood was already getting to Andrea, but she tried to dismiss it as she needed to set-up an auto transmit of the bald man's location to General Lie. She went back to the car and worked up on her laptop. As soon as she was done, she immediately called the General.

"Dong, I don't want that man coming after my husband anymore. Catch him and Han Yun for good. I don't want him hurting Lu Fang, me or my babies - "

"Your babies?"

"I'm pregnant. That's why we got married on paper already."

"Wait, you got married on paper? I thought you were getting married in three weeks?"

"Yes, we got married and stop asking me about it. It's not the reason why I called… General Lei Dong. As a friend and as an ally to the Xias and the Lus… I beg you to find Rou Yanlin and everyone associated with him, please do it within the week."

"Okay, Andy. I will do my best."

"Gao Rou will follow-up with you on this... Thanks, Dong."

It took Lei Dong some time to take it all in. The words married, pregnant and babies were like needles pricking to his heart. The moment he put down the phone, he reminded himself once again, 'There is no need to be hurt over someone who was never yours in the first place. This pain is not that deep.'

Lu Fang was on the phone with Lu Wei when Andrea found him. The man immediately noticed how her eyes looked weary. As soon as he ended the call, he came to hug her tightly and asked, "Are you alright, babe?"

"I don't know. I think I don't like the smell of blood. Let's get out of here quickly."

Walking back to the car, some police officers blocked the way, so the couple took a detour which apparently had a clear view of the soldier's pool of blood on the road. Andrea immediately covered her mouth as she was feeling the need to throw up.

"I need some air. Clean air."

Lu Fang carried her instead and ran as far away as he could and when the festering smell had disappeared, he let her down and rubbed her back.

"Breathe, babe. Breathe."

Andrea tried her best to let out all the disgusting feeling she had inside. She took in as much air as she could and slowly let it out.

"Hahhhooo… Hahhooo…"

"You are doing great, babe. I love you so much."

Andrea smiled at his efforts and replied, "I love you too, babe."

Lu Fang noticed her eyes were about to shut and suddenly, his wife fell unconscious in his arms. He quickly carried her back and called out to his brother.

"Gao Rou, let's bring Andy to the hospital now!"

Seeing Andrea being carried motionless, Yeong offered to drive, "let me take the wheel, just give me directions!"

Hanxi did not want to be left behind so he came inside the back seat with Lu Fang. He quickly checked her pulse and felt they were fine. He let out a heavy sigh before saying, "She fainted, she just fainted."

Gao Rou turned to check on the man from the front seat. It was the first time he saw him shed a tear in his entire life. He was completely worried about Andrea.
