Chapter 172 - Patricia's Obsession

Lu Fang and Yeong agreed to resume training after a month. Yeong would visit China and stay for two weeks. 

In the entire time that the couple stayed in Korea, Han-joon was always tailing them except, when they were at Yeong's office or at his facility. Now that the couple has returned to China, he is back again together with Xio Hanxi.

Although the past months have been awfully quiet, Yeong would not take the risk. The possibility still remains; Project Zero will come after Andrea. Especially now that she is in a delicate state. 

Since the threat to Lu Fang's life was no more, the couple was back at the Starlight Tower. It was more convenient for them as the Penthouse was located in the middle of the city. Plus, Andrea no longer had to worry about stairs.

The mansion remained usable for them only on weekends, should they decide to have a more homey environment. 

Lu Fang's Presidential Suite underwent a major renovation. Foremost, the man ensured to have their bedroom soundproofed. Instead of a study, they converted the other room into a nursery, conveniently interconnected to the master's bedroom. 

The other Presidential Suite on the same floor was changed into the man's study, where there were two other guest rooms, currently occupied by Xio Hanxi and Kin Han-joon. 

With the instruction of Lu Fang, Go Bolin prepared everything. Although the suites were both furnished, the nursery was left for Andrea to design, given the babies' gender were already identified.

As a finishing touch, Andrea simply required to set-up the alarm system and maintain it not just for their suite but the entire Penthouse Twin Towers. 

To her surprise, Lu Fang's office too was renovated. It now had an extension with her very own table, a computer, a laptop, and other electronic devices. The changes in the office delighted Andrea as she was completely unaware of the man's plans. 

To date, Andrea had two primary concerns that needed her attention. First was to plan Lu Fang's Birthday and second was to look into the delay of Global China's Projects. Their collaboration was supposed to speed up the completion of the projects, yet despite their aid, the progress was very insignificant. On top of this, she learned that CEO Pie's health continued to deteriorate. 

She also had concerns regarding her third island in the Maldives but she left those in good hands with Arti and Lu Fang. She figured the man might as well get involved since he owns 30% of the business. 

Lu Fang had always had a grand birthday party. This time, he wanted a more intimate celebration. He did not want Andrea to stress out preparing a huge party. At the same time, he did not want his wife to be in the prying eyes of those who may not understand their rushed marriage. 

Finally, the two settled to hold the event at the Starlight Tower's restaurant where only executives of the company, members of the board, family and a few of Lu Fang's friends since college were invited. 

Harold Smith, who already had a spy in Lu-Wei Enterprises reported the man's upcoming birthday celebration. He immediately phoned Lu Fang with an intention to get invited. "Advance Happy Birthday, Lu Fang. I heard the day is coming up."

The man gulped, he had no intention of inviting the Smiths since they were only having a small gathering.

"Ah, Yes Mr. Smith. Thank you for your greetings. It's a shame your daughter is not well for your family to come and join our celebration."

"Well, actually Lu Fang, Patricia is feeling better and we already have a go signal from her cardiologist to fly. So we will be there to attend your party."

Lu Fang shook his head, having indirectly invited Harold Smith and his family. He could no longer back out of his words. Nonetheless, he saw no harm in inviting the Smiths. 

Patricia was screaming at the top of her lungs the other day, demanding from his father to bring her to Lu Fang. Especially after learning that his birthday is coming, she wanted to be there for his very special day. Pamela and Harold did not want to strain their daughter, so they made plans to stay in China indefinitely. It was clearer to them, she had set her eyes on Lu Fang. 

They had already arranged another doctor to monitor Patricia in Beijing and when they learned that venue was at the Penthouse Twin Towers that Lu Fang apparently owns; they settled to look for a vacancy within the same property. Unfortunately, there was no available unit, but Harold requested to be on priority should there be any vacancy.

For now, they would have to settle for the closest hotel. 

"Daddy, I really want Lu Fang," Patricia said to him while sobbing in her room. "I promise, I won't ask for anything else. He will be the last. I promise."

"Are you sure?"

"I promise, Daddy. I promise."

"Patricia, we have already lost a very important business partner because of your infatuations. You need to make sure this man is the final one," asked Harold. 

"He is the one I want the most. I will not change my mind. I swear."

Lu Fang was not his daughter's first obsession. One was a known actor who easily stuck like glue to Patricia, but because he readily succumbed, she got tired of him faster than he came. 

The other one was a businessman named Darwin Clark, whom Harold also invited for partnership. Darwin fell into their trap  bed with Patricia. He ended up breaking off a long-term engagement so to commit to Harold's daughter. However, Patricia eventually jumped to like another man, and they ended up in a feud. Moreover, Darwin discovered their relationship was all a set-up. 

Harold lost a big portion of his funds to keep Darwin quiet. In the end, he ended up ordering a kill because of the trouble Darwin brought towards his family. Till this day, the Clarks in the US are looking for Darwin but Harold was confident they could never find out the truth. 

Harold Smith believed that Lu Fang was an easier man to win over compared to Darwin. His sources suggested he was not as powerful as him and he could use his money to eventually force the man to leave his wife as necessary. For now, they will try to break off the couple in a natural way.
