The airport staff denied having seen an aircraft land with the description of Alfred's plane and it dismayed Andrea and her companions. It only meant Nancy was able to bring in enough backing, allowing these men to connive with her.
Before their plane landed, she saw well how less inhabited the island was. It would not be a surprise if Nancy paid off all the residents or, at the very least, get those who were in charge of the airport to cooperate with her.
Li Wen and Andrea were still talking to each other on the phone as they drove.
"Estimate number of men are fifteen or sixteen. Around that figure."
"Andy, how long have you been on the island?" Asked Li Wen.
"About an hour, Wen. We are already headed to the location - "
"They are moving, Andy,"
"They are moving Lu Fang. They are transferring to another location."
Andrea let out a heavy sigh and informed her sister, "We asked around. Those men from the airport must have been in on it and notified them. We also got held up trying to find transportation."
Earlier, they could not find a car rental vendor. It awed them how laid back the island was to not have a rent a car service. They paid 5,000 USD just to get an old woman to have her yellow compact car rented for a day. They were all inconvenienced by their vehicle, but it was the only ride they could negotiate amongst the residents. This added to the delay in their departure.
"Han-joon, I have every confidence in our abilities, but for some reason, I feel there is a need to inform Yeong," said Andrea as she remained to be in contact with Li Wen. Her sister was still monitoring the island's activity through the satellites, especially the nearby locations where the signal of Lu Fang's watch was coming from.
Hanxi was in front of the wheel and beside him as Han-joon who was already on the phone calling Yeong. Andrea and Lu Wei were at the back seat, both nervous about the upcoming events. It had been more than twenty-four hours since her husband and mother-in-law went missing. They can only hope they were alive and surviving, somehow.
"Andy, I think they are headed towards an old lighthouse. I'm seeing movements there and Lu Fang's tracker seems to be going in the same direction. There is no other structure in between," Li Wen revealed.
"Guide us there, sis," said Andrea as she loaded a handgun and gave it to her father-in-law.
"Turn left on the next exit and take another left until you reach the red lighthouse. You can't miss it. It is standing on a cliff. You will arrive there before them, so get yourselves ready."
Andrea and Lu Wei assumed that Christina may have held Lu Fang from striking back. He would not have gotten himself into this kind of situation. Thus, their priority was to secure Christina.
While Lu Fang's rescuers were on their way, Nancy and her lover, Gustavo, were in a frenzy. After receiving a report of new visitors asking about Alfred's airplane, they immediately assumed it was her husband's men.
"How did they find this location? I thought the pilot made sure the plane could not be traced?!" Nancy was flustered hearing the news and nagged at her lover.
"We already tested it, we were sure the aircraft could not be traced!"
They were all rushing to bring Lu Fang and Christina to another hideout, hoping to continue on with their plans. Their party was riding in four small cars towards the lighthouse which will serve as their temporary sanctuary while they figure out how to eliminate those who had come for them.
"Are you certain that you threw away their phones? Any other devices in their bodies?!" Nancy asked again.
Gustavo thought for a moment but assured her there was none, Yes! We know what we are doing! We checked carefully their bodies."
Fortunately, when Lu Fang was apprehended, he managed to slip his watch inside his brief without them noticing. They would dare not inspect him there. He knew it was the best place to hide it.
"We need to call Alfred and demand for more money! How dare he try to trick us!" She turned to Gustavo and said, "Let's shoot her in the thigh and take a video of it before sending it to Alfred."
"Okay, we will do that."
On their way, they drove past an empty yellow compact car with its hood opened.
"Ah, the old woman's car broke down again," said the man who was driving Nancy and Gustavo. They did not think much of it since the driver knew the car's owner.
When Nancy and their group finally arrived at the lighthouse, they failed to notice their missing colleges who had left before them to secure the area. Nancy was particularly furious with the development that she was looking forward to causing harm to Alfred's sister.
She immediately approached the car where Christina was in, pulled her out and forcefully threw her to the ground. Nancy started slapping her in every part of her body. She was doing it so carelessly that Christina could not help but fight back and threw a kick to her stomach.
Nancy fell on her back, now furious than ever. She stood up getting ready for another attack but before her palms could strike again, bullets came firing out of nowhere.
BANG! BANG! BANG!
Three of their men who were close by fell to the ground. The rest, including Nancy, quickly took cover behind the cars.
Seeing her wounded and being mistreated by Alfred's wife, Lu Wei came rushing to retrieve his wife, unable to hold back.
BANG! BANG! BANG! BANG!
A few more shots were fired to keep the enemies from revealing themselves as Lu Wei carried Christina inside the lighthouse.
Lu Fang saw the commotion from inside the car. He was relieved to see his father take Christina away, far from their abductors. He knew his wife would find him and was relieved she did not waste any time.
'My wife is here.'
He was still feeling the effects of the sedatives, but he fought against it and turned to the man pointing a gun to his head. Lu Fang could see the fear in his eyes and it made him give a sneer. He said, "You think I'm scary? Wait till you see my wife."
