Li Wen could not return to China just yet. Thankfully, Xia Ting was understanding of the entire situation. They still had to help Andrea get most of her memories back.
Often times, Andrea would get visions of what had happened to her in the past year, yet none of those reminded her of Lu Fang. Li Wen kept probing, trying to figure out what else she had discovered, but it never involved her own family and the Lus, in particular.
With hopes it would help her recuperate faster, Alfred decided to take Andrea home for a better environment. On the way, she saw her favorite pastry shop that sold French Macarons. She requested to have a stop and buy some.
Gabriel was with them that time and all four of them comfortably sat in the cafe table enjoying different flavors of Macarons paired with coffee. When Gabriel handed her two boxes of the desert as take away, she was again reminded of a confrontation between her, Nancy and Taya. She relived it but merely seeing the faces of the two.
Li Wen caught her blankly staring at the macarons and asked, "Do you remember something?"
"Sort of but all seems hazy. I just hear Nancy and Taya's voice," Andrea replied reluctantly then grabbed a piece of the desert and munched away.
After indulging in some sweets, Andrea wanted to go to the ladies' room. Alfred and Li Wen went ahead to the car while Gabriel waited for Andrea. Just as they were about to leave the cafe, a blond woman came storming their way and immediately slapped Andrea.
"I knew it! It's still you all along!" It was Taya pointing a finger at Andrea.
Gabriel was quick to reach for Taya's wrist and demanded from the store manager to throw her out," How could you do that?" He then turned to the staff and urged, "This woman is acting violently, quickly escort her outside!"
Andrea merely shook her head in disbelief. She was completely off guard, never expecting that Russian blond would appear out of nowhere.
"You disgust me, Andrea! You stole my boyfriend - "
"Steal your boyfriend? You were the one audacious enough to steal my FIANCE!" Andrea interrupted Taya, countering her words.
Gabriel was taken aback by being called his fiance once more. It reminded him that Andrea was once his.
"You slut! You are already married and you dare to take my man! - Take your hands off me!" Taya ranted while the security hurriedly took her outside the shop.
After making sure the woman was out of sight, Gabriel went back to Andrea whose eyes were fixed at the glass window.
"Andy? Let's go."
She turned to him with a question mark on her face asking, "Gabe, why did she say I am married…am I… married?"
The two of them had been spending time together whenever he would visit the facility. Andrea no longer had the luxury to think about her hatred towards him since she had more serious problems, like getting back her memory. Somehow, Andrea felt that she could rely on him again.
"Andy, we have been trying to give you all the facts, slowly. Just so not to shock you," Gabriel said as he extended his hand to hers. "Let's talk about it at home. Li Wen and dad are the best persons to discuss it with you."
"Gabe, if anything. You know that I'm not a very patient pers - "
"Yes, you are married. Let's talk about it at home."
Andrea was nervous during the entire drive. She wondered what kind of man would she have married to? 'Oh my gosh, Andy. Did you desperately try to forget Gabriel and married yourself to just anybody?' she asked herself.
She began to look back into her head and wondered who would have been the candidate. She could feel her head aching again, just searching for her possible husband. She immediately thought of someone. 'Shit, did I marry Lei Dong?'
After arriving at the Davies' mansion, Li Wen and Alfred brought her to the Patio for a talk. It was high time to come clean to Andrea about her family.
"If I am really married, who is he? Why isn't he here? Some husband I have," doubted Andrea.
"Andy, don't say that... You have no idea what your husband has gone through for you. He loves you very much," Li Wen answered. "He is out hunting down those who were involved in taking you - members of Project Zero to be exact… Both Yeong and him are working together only that they went separate ways to take them down efficiently."
Andrea could not believe her ears, she could not help but want to clarify, "Did you just say he is working with Yeong? Does Yeong approve of him?"
"Yes, he does, and he passed Yeong's test very well," Li Wen replied.
"Andy, sweetheart, you couldn't have married a better person, he happens to be, also my nephew!" Alfred announced.
"Who is he? How exactly did we meet?" Andrea asked. At that point, she was already massaging her temples, suggesting she was forcing herself to remember.
Alfred became wary. He stood by his daughter's side and caressed her back while asking, "Andy, are you fine? Do you want to take a rest for now?"
"No, I want to know now. I - I have to."
Li Wen let out a heavy sigh before telling her sister, "It's Lu Fang. The man you were supposed to protect. You end up falling in love with him and married him. In fact - "
"Ehhh… Why can't I remember!" Andrea said while she continued to massage her head forcefully. Her eyes began to water and her heart pounded faster. "I don't understand why… something so important I would forget!"
"Andy, please calm down. We already told you, it had something to do with what Project Zero had put you through," Alfred explained and hugged her tightly trying to ease her anguish.
Andrea cried herself to sleep that night. It wasn't like her at all to feel pity for herself, but she felt she was incomplete, not having to remember everything. More importantly, not recognizing having a husband.
The next morning, she asked her dad straightway during breakfast, "Dad, did I love him? Lu Fang?"
Alfred was running late for work, but his daughter came first and so he sat with her for an hour telling her about the man. Towards the end of their conversation he said, "On your birthday, you know what you asked me? You wanted me to put him on a gift box as your prize."
It surprised Andrea. She would never be that straightforward about liking someone, especially not to her adoptive father. "Oh my god," she told herself. "Did I like him more than he liked me?"
