Immediately after Lu Fang's return, the hospital prepared Andrea for immunoglobulin infusion.
Immunoglobulin, also known as antibodies, are glycoprotein molecules produced by plasma cells or white blood cells. They act as a critical part of the immune response to viruses and bacteria. It ultimately helps fight infections and diseases.
It was a twelve hour infusion but just after ten hours, Lu Fang could see his wife's fingers looking normal again. It relieved him to know that the treatment worked.
When Andrea woke up the next day, she felt better. It had been days since she had not a proper rest. However, last night, during and after being injected with immunoglobulin, she had slept rather well, not feeling any discomfort.
"Babe, I'm hungry," Andrea said waking up the man beside her.
"Hey, good morning, babe," responded Lu Fang before sitting up to kiss his wife in the cheek. "It's good that you are asking for food."
"I just want something light like ramen," she said.
"I'll go buy them." It was Hanxi who offered, also having woken up.
After eating their breakfast, Lu Fang opened up the conditions by Michael Song.
"Babe," Andrea said, "What if I just keep getting immunoglobulin treatment?"
"He said it will only be a temporary solution. Babe, I'm not comfortable for you to see him either, but at the same time, I want the disease treated permanently, not just for the meantime," the man pointed out.
"This is the worst!" Hanxi exclaimed. "I wish I could kill him right now - "
"But we can't… not just yet. We might lose the only chance we have to get the cure. In any case, if he toys with us, Deana and Gao Rou are now headed to Tanzania. Hopefully, that will give us the answer that we need," said Lu Fang.
"Then, when I am stronger, I will meet him. Besides, he did say, it was just a simple dinner that he wanted for now. Right?" Andrea clarified after looking straight into her husband's eyes.
Andrea was sent home after a period of observation. She was indeed able to live normally in days that followed. After regaining her strength, they planned for her most awaited dinner with Michael Song.
She wore an earpiece, one that was very small and difficult to be recognized. Lu Fang, Hanxi and four of Lei Dong's soldiers brought her to the venue, ready to infiltrate in no time depending on how the situation would escalate.
She purposely brought a handbag, big enough to accommodate a gas mask and a gun. More than ever, she was ready to face the current demon in their lives.
This time, they met at a mansion owned by Michael Song in Beijing. The estate was very far from the city and was well guarded. Unfortunately, Lu Fang and Hanxi were only allowed up to the mansion door. Only Andrea was allowed to enter.
Dressed in casual stretchable jeans, Andrea took a deep breath before walking inside the rustic mansion. A butler escorted her to the dining table where Michael Song was waiting.
"Hello, Andrea. I hope you don't mind. I prefer to call you by your name," he said while walking up to her, holding a bouquet. "Beautiful flowers fit for an angel like you."
Andrea was taken aback, 'He was literally leaning in for a kiss?' She instantly thought.
A slap went across his face in a second. Andrea's hand left a good mark on him, making Michael Song drop the bouquet into the floor.
"Hahaha! Normally women feared me, but not you." He slowly picked up the bouquet and handed it to Andrea again. "Here, I insist on you receiving my every gift unless - unless you do not want to receive your treatment for today."
Her nose flared in anger while looking straight at him. Her hand trembled as he held it, taking her to her seat. Instead of taking the opposite chair in front of her, he sat next to Andrea and placed an arm around her.
At that point, Andrea's blood was boiling. She knew she could not stand him much longer. She had to get to the point sooner. Otherwise, she will end up killing the only man who knows the cure to her illness. "Tell me… Why me? What did I ever do to you?"
He smiled before caressing her cheek and leaned forward to savor her scent. He was so close, Andrea could feel him breathing against her skin. She felt goosebumps all over, disgusted with his every breath.
Eventually, he moved back and said, "I - I initially wanted to get revenge. You killed my father back in the day -"
"What? Who was your father?"
"Amaryllis Red. That's you, right? You killed my father fifteen years ago," he said while reaching for the wine and pouring it to the glass in front of them. "Here, this is yours. Drink it."
"I am not eating nor drinking anything that is from here. Who knows what other viruses or bacteria I might catch," Andrea pointed out, bluntly. Her voice raised and cold.
"Fifteen years ago? That makes me fifteen years old. Are you crazy? I am pretty sure I am not the person who you are referring to. I was still at school for sure learning math."
"I had a bounty on your head, up to four years ago. Until I heard that Amaryllis Red died fighting against the Shadows. I was frustrated, not being the one to capture you -"
Andrea's heart was racing, yet she managed to say, "I said I am not Amaryllis whatever!"
"Then - why are you so skilled in fighting with the use of a chopstick?" asked Michael Song.
"Excuse me?" He heard her say. He took the glass of wine for himself. He drank it fully and placed it back to the table before turning his gaze to Andrea.
"Hector. Does that name right a bell? He is a brother on one of my men. When he came to visit him in the military prison in Guangzhou, he was told about the couple that brought about the end of his group."
Andrea was puzzled for a moment, thinking about the name. She thought it was familiar but she could not point a finger to it.
"Let me refresh your memory. You were driving from Shenzhen to Guangzhou when Hector and his men took you and your husband. This was over a year ago… Now, do you remember?"
Finally, realizing who was Hector, Andrea said, "Excuse me, Mr. Song? But there is nothing wrong with knowing martial arts. All the more, my expertise in using the chopsticks does not make me the person you are looking for. I am merely a sushi enthusiast, chopsticks are a must for me to carry given delicious food is everywhere now these days."
Micheal Song was silent for a moment, but it did not take long for him to be amused, hearing Andrea's response. He thought, 'What an interesting woman this is.'
After composing himself, he said, "In any case, it does not matter now. Because after seeing you that day at the charity event. I have decided, I no longer wanted revenge." He turned to Andrea once more and added, "I want you entirely. I… I want you to be mine every time I come to China."
